Hmmm a tripod mount is only $6. You just spent $299 to buy the camera is it too much to spring for the extra couple bucks to get the mount? I'm all for DIY stuff but this????? Nope. Nice try though.

Even better suggestion, you can buy a GoPro HD thread adaptor. It has a 1/4" thread so you can mount it to a tripod or suction mount etc. Nothing in your video is necessary! :-)
