  • champ cars look a lot better than the indycars

  • So where is the part where bourdais "takes it like a man"? He never takes anything like a man. He always cries and he probably did so after this accident.

  • At least in Champ car you don't get penalized for trying a aggressive pass

  • I was so happy when that little bitch went to F1 and failed.

  • @continentalrcinglg

Stupid and jealous comment! He won 4 times CCWS in a row! Who else did it?

  • That's what I call "bad luck"!

  • Paul Tracy doing a stupid mistake..

..Up next: the Moon is still in orbit around earth..

  • Wilson , Doornbos and Bourdais ? Seems like drivers who cant make it in f1 go to champcar series :o

  • bourdais cries all the time...spa 08 proves my point

  • lol he deserves it

  • Bourdais Is a Shit Driver !

  • @RemcoGamer95 oh yeah? you go hop into all the cars he has won in and race for the title. you just dont have any clue about racing... you should rather shut your mouth and act dumb than opening it and removing all doubts, kid

  • I from Toronto I was at that race! lakeshore

  • ahh I miss champ car.

  • I don't like the 'If you start 1st you should be the winner at the finish because there's no possibility to get passed' tracks!

That's the reason why they've a 'power-to-pass' button, so at least there's a possibility that drivers will try to overtake (although there's no possible point on the track). I much rather watch something else, I'm not surprised by these crashes that we've seen by amateuristic drivers.

  • Great one.

  • where is this track?

  • Toronto

  • team radio? no response by the team radio?

  • ok so Tracy's pit couldn't tell him about the other cars wing under his in time to let him know to keep cool? or did he pick it up just seconds before that turn?

  • tracy had picked it up maybe....10 seconds before crashing.....and cameras didnt have a great look showing the wing til it was too late

  • That was quite a hard hit by Paul Tracy, so happy he is back in the indy car series again so exciting with him

  • Racing with a half frontspoiler is asking for trouble.Temper the speed in curves is a must do.

    Cry on X)

  • 0:26 looks funny somehow. :D

  • The first crash is what happened to roland ratzenberger =/

  • Comment removed

  • No, Ratzenberger lost his own front wing.

  • True i meant that they both had no control over their cars as a result of a front wing beeing lodged under their cars.

  • Yeah that's right.

  • where are the races downloadable?

  • I was there very exciting race, too bad though when Tracy crashed on the first lap.........

  • Where are the comments about the vid ??

This year Bobby D. will come back to you !

This guy will dominate the championship right away from the start, watch my words!

  • is this the dame as indycar im from ireland and this isnt on my tv

  • Not exactly. This season was the last season where Champ Car and the Indy Racing League were still split. Indycar was made when the two sides came together last year for the first time in 12 years.

Differences between CART/Champ Car and the IRL..

IRL - Based on ovals and used a naturally aspirated V8 motors making 650 HP. Later switched to more road courses.

Champ Car/CART (shown) - Turbocharged V8 motors making 750+ HP. Based on ovals and road courses but later moved to all road courses.

  • so champ car stilln runs on just roads what do you mean they just came together i dont understand

  • In 1996 the Indy Racing League (IRL) split from CART and each ran their own open wheel series. As I said the IRL concentrated on ovals while CART ran ovals and road/street courses.

CART on a worldwide scale was more popular with guys like Montoya, Bourdais, Christian Fittipaldi, and Micheal Andretti.

IRL though not as popular (or driver gifted IMO) had the money and the TV deals to keep it alive plus it had one leader in Tony George. The biggest thing was that they also had the Indy 500.

  • In 2003 two of the richer team owners in CART bought out CART and renamed it Champ Car. Unfortunately due to lack of sponsorship, notoriety, and the domination by foreign drivers - Champ Car went bankrupt.

In 2007 Tony George and the owners of Champ Car came together and decided it was time for by gone to be by gones. The two series merge to what is known today as Indycar. The series is about 51% ovals and 49% road/street courses.

In 2011 major changes are to be made. Turbo motors/new chassis

  • If you have any more questions just ask me. I'm a major F1 fan but my first love was American open wheel. I remember Mansell in '93-'94 - good ol' years.

  • so it is still the same as this. i think this is better than f1 because it isnt as serious and there is more action

  • Glad you think so. In general American motorsports is a lot more relaxed. Many European ladder drivers when they come to the States like the relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the paddock even with people not from their teams.

When Richard's Aston Martin Racing came to the States even the team members were surprised by the atmosphere. The interaction between drivers and fans is second to none. At Road America talking to Mika Salo and Christian Fittipaldi while eating. Now that's cool.

  • To answer your question if its the same action as above..no unfortunately. The IRL series won after the 12 year "war" and their chassis is made for ovals and are butt ugly compared to the Panoz chassis shown here. The motors used in the IRL also have a 100 less HP and are very slow compared to these cars. In a side by side test last year the Panoz chassis/ Cosworth engine was 3-5 seconds faster per lap then the IRL Dallara/Honda combination!

The sound of the IRL motor is dull too. Sucks..

  • Also...Remember the series above was a spec series so that's why the racing was close. F1 loves technology but that usually leaves only a few dominate teams with the deepest pockets.

In Champ Car the spec series was dull to see (same cars and chassis) but the car was inexpensive. Not only that but the motor was high tech and ear inspiring and the chassis wasn't that bad looking. As you said too the action was great and the series saw multiple winners from different teams.

  • i was looking forward to getting sky and watching this, f1 is great but a little boring compared to the above

  • I'm glad you joined the Indycar camp and I think you'll enjoy routing on your mates from Europe in the States mainly Mike Conway and Justin Wilson if he can find a ride. I know many Brits from internet forums who are still hardcore Indycar fans from the time of Mansell and I'm glad you joined the boat.

Remember lots of ovals and the Indycar are a lot slower then the ones in the video. If you end up loving it then great but don't be disappointed to be disappointed. 2011 is the year to watch.

  • thanks

  • here thanks for answering my questions appreciated

  • I actually thought Doornbos would win the series in his first year before this race. Then his season just went downhill from here. :(

  • did i just see Justin Wilson win???!!!!!!!! doesnt say much for champ car lol

  • Will Power won, not Justin Wilson.

  • Paul Tracy is a fucking dick hahaha

  • he is he sucks at f1.

  • yup. so true.

  • i would pay to see a race between one of these cars and an F1 car.

  • in the GP of canada the f1 cars are 6 sec quicker a lap than champcars

  • @79mystique79 cause f1 is better!

  • @79mystique79

is that a bad thing or a good thing???

slower yes but were more enjoyble to watch!!

    f1 cant overtake...

  • Champ cars would finish on average 7 minutes back in a comparable race distance.

  • Wilson, Doornbos, Christiano Da Matta and Baumgartner are all drivers that pretty much sucked in F1, so they went to america. Bourdais only went to america becuase he couldnt get an F1 seat in 2003

  • Oui mais depuis 1l est 4 fois champion,

    pauvre naze

  • They were all in total shit F1 cars though! That's what sucks about F1 unless you drive for Renault, Ferrari or McLaren you're never going to come close to a win!

  • Torro Rosso proved you wrong :) even though they run ferrari engines....

if you have utter raw talent you can overcome the odds. besides getting close to a win with any team other than that list is bound to turn some heads

  • The only reason Toro Rosso won that race is because Monza was in a torrential downpour and Ferrari and Mclaren made stupid strategy calls. I do admit Vettel is very, very talented and I look forward to seeing him in a better car.

  • Monza aside, Vettel still made 35 points this year (or 25 without his win), compared to Bordais 4 points thats just embarrassing. Even Nakajima managed 9.

  • Dont forget Zanardi. As much as I love the guy, his F1 career was less than spectacular yet he was amazing in CART.

  • Tracy is the worst driver ever. -_-

  • He is a loose cannon. Hence, only one championship in his long career

  • CCWS should have survived and IRL should have died.

Tony George needs to go away.

  • boring millionaires.one bump and boop....your parked that is not racing

  • they can drive about 10 times better than you.

they arent just rich kids who fancied driving. they are professionals. FIA licences go at 300,000 euros, so they arent exactly sitting on a mountian of money.

  • Paul Tracy is FAT....FAT .....FAT!!!!

  • Not as fat as the marshal!

  • rodert doornbos wi the race with cashing bourdais in to the wall.

  • That not Bourdais yo idot.

  • Damn i feel really sorry 4 Paul Tracy. Can you believe so much bad luck? Wait and see peeps, next year will be the Doornbos year!!!!

    Fuck crybaby Bourdais!!!

    Robert,Robert,Robert!!!!!Holland,Holland,Holland!!!!!

    Greetz from Amsterdam

  • Doornbos is a bit of a wanker no? He had some good races but SB made him his Dutch bitch.

  • PT is a loose cannon.

Robert has a chance next year.. He will have to fight Will Power and JUstin Wilson but that's about it. Maybe a couple of really fast rookies. There is a Frenchman or 2 that could spoil the show...

  • Those anounsers are so quiet like a mose there worse than indy car anounsers...

  • paul tracy is disgusting lol i dunno about that guy

  • They couldn't impress in F1 because they were driving inferior cars, compared to the topteams.

In Champcar, the material is more equal so the driver makes a bigger difference.

If Bourdais wants to be competitive in F1, then at LEAST he should drive a BMW or a Renault.. otherwise he can't go for the title by any means.

  • jep Bourdais you can call it a noob in 2 a 3 years

  • but Robert Doornbos os a n1 nOOOO a BIG N1 so good luck

    Bourdais. (LOL)

  • you never know sometimes a team can just build a car in f1 and get it right who know who will be competitive next season

  • yeah i heard he was going 2 drive for Red Bull or something? In that case he could better stay in champcar...but i don't like him anyway..racing is 4 men and not crybabies like Bourdais

  • when did he cry

if you talk about this video on youtube its because your so stupid you didnt notied that this video has been slowed down so stupid like you are gonna think hes crying...

  • you call me stupid??? you are the dumb one. i called him a crybaby but i didn't say he was crying. stop lying motherfucker. You must be French i guess. French people can't understand English so get the fuck outta here.lil bitch gunshoot. you don't want to mess with me fool

  • no im not french and yes you are stupid you cant deny the fact that bourdais is the best champ car driver of all time and one day he will be the best in f1 he deserve it even if every one is jalous of him because of his talent..you kno he is the real man

  • he is a good driver without a doubt.shame he chose F1.Otherwise Doornbos could kick his ass 4 real this time. Don't expect too much from Bourdais in F1. Too much difference between his car and the top teams

  • True on most counts but I really do not think Robert is as skilled as SB (and I don't like to admit a Frenchman is good, trust me!)... Maybe he will have a good year. He was on a shit team in F1..maybe he could go back and try a better team. He will have to win the CART championship if he plans to get noticed. Hell..it took 4X for SB to get there. Where ya from Dog? Holland?

  • LOL!! I like you tough talk there funky cold madina. Anywho...Bourdais is the best in CHampcar history or damn close to it based on the facts. I am not a fan of the French or some of his whiny ass behavior but the kid is dam good. He made PT his bitch 4 years in a row. THAT's saying something.

  • Bourdais is amazingly good. But as u said ,his behaviour is wack.Champcar is more competitive than f1 so it's a big achievement 2 become 4 times champ.Shame Robert D didn't win in his rookie season. That would have gotten Bourdais feet back on the ground. He's like Alain Prost. Great driver but a great asshole also

  • LOL!! I crack up every time I read that! "You don't wanna' mess with me fool". Classic! Keep hope alive Dogg. Peace

  • every1 isnt lewis hamilton,u just dont walk into f1 and land a good seat just like that

  • Very true. He is very lucky...good but lucky as heck

    gewoon jos the boss

  • ok jij weeet it maar jos blijft gewooon goed

  • yea i love te drive style of Robert Doornbos

i am from holland normal i look only to formula 1

but now sins (great britan) last race is cristian alberts no f1 driver ay more ;( so we have champcar ;)

(Nobody is good like Micheal Schumacher ;D)

  • I speeking werry goed de englisch, LOL.

  • klopt ;) jij weet ook hoe it zit.

  • Robert laat niet met zich sollen!

  • Actually, Doornbos was pretty impressive if the few GP's he drove for Redbull, although his performance in the Champcars is surprising.

  • Bourdais has all these big intentions of being competitive in F1, yet drivers like Wilson and Doornbos who have hardly impressed in F1 can go over to America and compete with Bourdais within a year.

  • Robert was in competition right from the beginning.

both Robert & Justin are very underestimated drivers. not to mention the winner of this race, & of course also Christian Bourdais...don't count him out!

  • um..Sebastian of course.

  • With F1 is not always about the driver, in fact is almost always about the car.
