So where is the part where bourdais "takes it like a man"? He never takes anything like a man. He always cries and he probably did so after this accident.
@RemcoGamer95 oh yeah? you go hop into all the cars he has won in and race for the title. you just dont have any clue about racing... you should rather shut your mouth and act dumb than opening it and removing all doubts, kid
I don't like the 'If you start 1st you should be the winner at the finish because there's no possibility to get passed' tracks!
That's the reason why they've a 'power-to-pass' button, so at least there's a possibility that drivers will try to overtake (although there's no possible point on the track). I much rather watch something else, I'm not surprised by these crashes that we've seen by amateuristic drivers.
ok so Tracy's pit couldn't tell him about the other cars wing under his in time to let him know to keep cool? or did he pick it up just seconds before that turn?
Not exactly. This season was the last season where Champ Car and the Indy Racing League were still split. Indycar was made when the two sides came together last year for the first time in 12 years.
Differences between CART/Champ Car and the IRL..
IRL - Based on ovals and used a naturally aspirated V8 motors making 650 HP. Later switched to more road courses.
Champ Car/CART (shown) - Turbocharged V8 motors making 750+ HP. Based on ovals and road courses but later moved to all road courses.
In 1996 the Indy Racing League (IRL) split from CART and each ran their own open wheel series. As I said the IRL concentrated on ovals while CART ran ovals and road/street courses.
CART on a worldwide scale was more popular with guys like Montoya, Bourdais, Christian Fittipaldi, and Micheal Andretti.
IRL though not as popular (or driver gifted IMO) had the money and the TV deals to keep it alive plus it had one leader in Tony George. The biggest thing was that they also had the Indy 500.
In 2003 two of the richer team owners in CART bought out CART and renamed it Champ Car. Unfortunately due to lack of sponsorship, notoriety, and the domination by foreign drivers - Champ Car went bankrupt.
In 2007 Tony George and the owners of Champ Car came together and decided it was time for by gone to be by gones. The two series merge to what is known today as Indycar. The series is about 51% ovals and 49% road/street courses.
In 2011 major changes are to be made. Turbo motors/new chassis
If you have any more questions just ask me. I'm a major F1 fan but my first love was American open wheel. I remember Mansell in '93-'94 - good ol' years.
Glad you think so. In general American motorsports is a lot more relaxed. Many European ladder drivers when they come to the States like the relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the paddock even with people not from their teams.
When Richard's Aston Martin Racing came to the States even the team members were surprised by the atmosphere. The interaction between drivers and fans is second to none. At Road America talking to Mika Salo and Christian Fittipaldi while eating. Now that's cool.
To answer your question if its the same action as above..no unfortunately. The IRL series won after the 12 year "war" and their chassis is made for ovals and are butt ugly compared to the Panoz chassis shown here. The motors used in the IRL also have a 100 less HP and are very slow compared to these cars. In a side by side test last year the Panoz chassis/ Cosworth engine was 3-5 seconds faster per lap then the IRL Dallara/Honda combination!
Also...Remember the series above was a spec series so that's why the racing was close. F1 loves technology but that usually leaves only a few dominate teams with the deepest pockets.
In Champ Car the spec series was dull to see (same cars and chassis) but the car was inexpensive. Not only that but the motor was high tech and ear inspiring and the chassis wasn't that bad looking. As you said too the action was great and the series saw multiple winners from different teams.
I'm glad you joined the Indycar camp and I think you'll enjoy routing on your mates from Europe in the States mainly Mike Conway and Justin Wilson if he can find a ride. I know many Brits from internet forums who are still hardcore Indycar fans from the time of Mansell and I'm glad you joined the boat.
Remember lots of ovals and the Indycar are a lot slower then the ones in the video. If you end up loving it then great but don't be disappointed to be disappointed. 2011 is the year to watch.
Wilson, Doornbos, Christiano Da Matta and Baumgartner are all drivers that pretty much sucked in F1, so they went to america. Bourdais only went to america becuase he couldnt get an F1 seat in 2003
They were all in total shit F1 cars though! That's what sucks about F1 unless you drive for Renault, Ferrari or McLaren you're never going to come close to a win!
The only reason Toro Rosso won that race is because Monza was in a torrential downpour and Ferrari and Mclaren made stupid strategy calls. I do admit Vettel is very, very talented and I look forward to seeing him in a better car.
Monza aside, Vettel still made 35 points this year (or 25 without his win), compared to Bordais 4 points thats just embarrassing. Even Nakajima managed 9.
they arent just rich kids who fancied driving. they are professionals. FIA licences go at 300,000 euros, so they arent exactly sitting on a mountian of money.
Robert has a chance next year.. He will have to fight Will Power and JUstin Wilson but that's about it. Maybe a couple of really fast rookies. There is a Frenchman or 2 that could spoil the show...
yeah i heard he was going 2 drive for Red Bull or something? In that case he could better stay in champcar...but i don't like him anyway..racing is 4 men and not crybabies like Bourdais
if you talk about this video on youtube its because your so stupid you didnt notied that this video has been slowed down so stupid like you are gonna think hes crying...
you call me stupid??? you are the dumb one. i called him a crybaby but i didn't say he was crying. stop lying motherfucker. You must be French i guess. French people can't understand English so get the fuck outta here.lil bitch gunshoot. you don't want to mess with me fool

True on most counts but I really do not think Robert is as skilled as SB (and I don't like to admit a Frenchman is good, trust me!)... Maybe he will have a good year. He was on a shit team in F1..maybe he could go back and try a better team. He will have to win the CART championship if he plans to get noticed. Hell..it took 4X for SB to get there. Where ya from Dog? Holland?
LOL!! I like you tough talk there funky cold madina. Anywho...Bourdais is the best in CHampcar history or damn close to it based on the facts. I am not a fan of the French or some of his whiny ass behavior but the kid is dam good. He made PT his bitch 4 years in a row. THAT's saying something.
Bourdais is amazingly good. But as u said ,his behaviour is wack.Champcar is more competitive than f1 so it's a big achievement 2 become 4 times champ.Shame Robert D didn't win in his rookie season. That would have gotten Bourdais feet back on the ground. He's like Alain Prost.
Bourdais has all these big intentions of being competitive in F1, yet drivers like Wilson and Doornbos who have hardly impressed in F1 can go over to America and compete with Bourdais within a year.
Robert was in competition right from the beginning.
