I have a very good friend who was an aborted baby that survived! He is strong, healthy, happy, successful. He has had a very full life, married and father of 3. His 15 year old mother was convinced by "shamed" parents who did not want their friends to know their daughter was pregnant. I guess it was easier for them to deal with advising their daughter to kill their grandchild. Thank God he survived. Surviving an abortion is a very rare occurence. Abortion is a coward's form of birth control.
There's a huge misconception that really gets to me here. When a women gets and abortion, she is not killing a baby. It's not a baby. It's a clump of cells. It's like saying it's wrong to eat plants because they're alive. The fetus is alive, but it's just a bunch of tissue and cells, nowhere close to the complexity of a baby. And it should be the women's choice what she does with her own body. Nobody said abortion is right, just that it's a choice.

When a mother first realizes that she is pregnant, the baby, (yes, it is a baby) has already developed a brain, heart and body, with tiny feet and hands. It is a human, just not able to live outside the womb. Doesn't the baby have rights? Please, do some research and look at photos of little ones in the womb. It's a baby!

It's a choice for the women who finds out that her baby may be born abnormal and in extreme pain, and it will cost her for the rest of her life to keep it alive. I know several women who have had abortions and they do suffer consequences---They still cry for their unborn baby, even after 32 and 36 years. Your comparison of a finite created being to an infinite spiritual being and the very creator of the mom you are talking about is nonsensical. Being that He created everything, makes Him the very definition of authority. If one creates a business and is in control of all the assets to that business, than he is the greatest authority in that business and can dissolve it when and if he wants. So goes the authority of God. By Him all things are made and by Him all things exist, hence authority.

Here's my opinion on the whole abortion thing. A woman has the right to have an abortion. It shouldn't be outlawed. I say this because I don't think Govt. has any business in the matter. But...if there is a God, the choice made will be between the gal and her maker. I personally disagree with abortion but again, I don't want the Govt. involved. I just became a father for the first time and my 4 months old baby girl was written off by the doctors they said she would not make it because her lungs were not strong enough and that she was gonna die inside the womb,my wife went against what the doctors said and not only is baby alive but she has 2 strong healthy lungs,I could never tell my wife to have an abortion nor would she.I sure am glad we did not give into the pressure and bad advise of doing such a thing

I was told the same thing with my daughter because I was on a heart medication when I became pregnant with her, told there would be major problems with her development. I passed on the abortion, said I would take what God gave me. She is now 18 years old, absolutely beautiful in looks and spirit. She is active in the community, and is on a path that will lead her to be a child advocate for children. This is a child the doctors wrote off. But I know three other women with same story.

So, the key to all of this is probably not to make abortion illegal, but to make it unthinkable. Anyone who views an ultrasound clearly sees that it's a human life in there .... and the baby moves away from the probe as the "procedure" begins as baby's life is taken. A tragedy every time. In human history this needs to be recognized to be as bad or worse than the blight of slavery. If a young woman ends up in that position, adoption is the reasonable answer.
Even if its not killing children then you are denying a potential being life. If you murder a women while she is having sex then you are doing the same thing. Its not really a matter of liberal or conservative politics, its really more of a moral decision. If a woman does not want to have a child then she should not be satisfying her urges. Creation is what nature intended.

There's a huge misconception that really gets to me here. When a women gets and abortion, she is not killing a baby. It's not a baby. It's a clump of cells. It's like saying it's wrong to eat plants because they're alive. The fetus is alive, but it's just a bunch of tissue and cells, nowhere close to the complexity of a baby. And it should be the women's choice what she does with her own body. Nobody said abortion is right, just that it's a choice.

When a mother first realizes that she is pregnant, the baby, (yes, it is a baby) has already developed a brain, heart and body, with tiny feet and hands. It is a human, just not able to live outside the womb. Doesn't the baby have rights? Please, do some research and look at photos of little ones in the womb. It's a baby!

And you can know if you're pregnant as soon as 4 days before a missed period, and the fetus can't feel pain until 8 weeks, therefore, if done correctly, you can have an abortion before it is a "baby," or in my view, a developing human that has developed a thalamus. And like I said, I'm not pro abortion, I don't think anyone really is. It's called pro CHOICE.

I know you can tell you're pregnant that soon, however, MOST women don't know until they have missed their first period. I don't think judging that a baby isn't human because it doesn't feel pain. I do know that calling it a CHOICE is interesting, when the only one choosing is the one with the most power. I just feel that sometimes we have to defend the powerless and helpless in our society. @MsAbracadebra It's a choice for the women who was sexually assaulted and later found out she was pregnant. It's a choice for the women who finds out that her baby may be born abnormal and in extreme pain, and it will cost her for the rest of her life to keep it alive. It's the women's body, she may do as she pleases, whether it's right or wrong. She will suffer the consequences, or not, eventually. You don't get a choice if you do not exist yet.

@jsj89football But, they do exist--I guess it's something that will never be resolved. I just feel that the most helpless and powerless need a voice and that is my choice--to speak for them. I know several women who have had abortions and they do suffer consequences---They still cry for their unborn baby, even after 32 and 36 years. I have 2 women, very dear, that deal with their decisions every day. That's just my experience with the pain of abortion.

If you do not want a child, try to prevent before it gets to the point of pregnancy. But, if a women gets pregnant, and she is in no condition to raise a child, do we really want to see that child go through a hard, abusive life? I'm Pro-choice, because life is full of hard choices.

@ripwalter34 Indeed! Why not? A child would bring happiness into the lives of MANY a person or couple incapable of having kids. It's a win-win situation as long as the child gets in the right family.
And on that note, who knows if the child would have been happy with its' natural parents anyhow, seeing that child abuse isn't limited to just step-parents.
Adopting the child might save its' life in some cases, aside from initially saving it's life from abortion.

@devilbabes Are you implying that most pregnant women don't choose to have the sex that results in them getting pregnant in the first place? It's not a secret where baby's come from. Either don't have sex, or use birth control. That's where the choice is (tragic rape cases aside). What type of world are we living in that once a life has begun it's deemed OK to end it? My wife is pregnant now, and even when she is asleep I can feel our child move on his own inside her. It's beautiful.

Your comparison of a finite created being to an infinite spiritual being and the very creator of the mom you are talking about is nonsensical. Being that He created everything, makes Him the very definition of authority. If one creates a business and is in control of all the assets to that business, than he is the greatest authority in that business and can dissolve it when and if he wants. So goes the authority of God. By Him all things are made and by Him all things exist, hence authority.

Also, there is no need for you to try and persuade me on the science of birth as we have 4 children and I am totally certain of my part in their "creation" as you call it. I see that to some extent. If I had to associate with a party, it would be Libertarian and one of the only places I disagree with them on is their stance on the gov staying out of abortion. I disagree with it because of my firm belief that life starts at conception and so I believe that the right of a person is being ignored when allowing a baby to be killed without their consent. Here's my opinion on the whole abortion thing. A woman has the right to have an abortion. It shouldn't be outlawed. I say this because I don't think Govt. has any business in the matter. But...if there is a God, the choice made will be between the gal and her maker. I personally disagree with abortion but again, I don't want the Govt. involved. It's a very touchy subject I know.. just my opinion

I dont' agree with abortions, but it isn't our job to make that decision. I just became a father for the first time and my 4 months old baby girl was written off by the doctors they said she would not make it because her lungs were not strong enough and that she was gonna die inside the womb,my wife went against what the doctors said and not only is baby alive but she has 2 strong healthy lungs,I could never tell my wife to have an abortion nor would she.I sure am glad we did not give into the pressure and bad advise of doing such a thing

I was told the same thing with my daughter because I was on a heart medication when I became pregnant with her, told there would be major problems with her development. I passed on the abortion, said I would take what God gave me. She is now 18 years old, absolutely beautiful in looks and spirit. She is active in the community, and is on a path that will lead her to be a child advocate for children. This is a child the doctors wrote off. But I know three other women with same story.

My father was adopted and my parents adopted my brother. I couldn't imagine life without them. They could've easily fallen into the hands of an abortionist, but thank God their biological parents had a heart. They have been a blessing!

A precious gift from god deserves a chance to live, no one has a right to murder a child... There is no difference If the baby was out side the womb. So, the key to all of this is probably not to make abortion illegal, but to make it unthinkable. Anyone who views an ultrasound clearly sees that it's a human life in there .... and the baby moves away from the probe as the "procedure" begins as baby's life is taken. A tragedy every time. In human history this needs to be recognized to be as bad or worse than the blight of slavery. If a young woman ends up in that position, adoption is the reasonable answer.

Even if its not killing children then you are denying a potential being life. If you murder a women while she is having sex then you are doing the same thing. Its not really a matter of liberal or conservative politics, its really more of a moral decision. If a woman does not want to have a child then she should not be satisfying her urges. Creation is what nature intended.

@DarkPurity01 Getting pregnant isn't always on purpose. Often times the sex is with protection and pregnancy isn't intended. If you wanna be the one to take in that child when he's 15 and in a foster home unloved by anyone living a garbage life then go adopt some of them.

I am also not the kind of person to go and riot in the streets about abortion. Obviously nature intended for pregnancy to happen, not that I care about nature. Abortion should not be choice compared to having a mole removed from your cheek or because someone doesn't want to change diapers. A woman's health is of major concern and in YOUR SPECIAL case, I believe abortion was needed. Abortion should never be one of choice but of necessity.

Women deserve access to safe and accurate medical information. Any woman who has been pregnant knows that each pregnancy is different. All of us make decisions based on what's best for us and our families. No legislation can choose what's right for each of us. Trust women.
