The meteoric rise of the most successful American comedy team of the 20th century is colorfully chronicled in the made for TV biopic Martin and Lewis. Sean Hayes of Will & Grace fame delivers an astonishing performance as the young Jerry Lewis, easily outdistancing British actor Jeremy Northam's capable but phlegmatic portrayal of Dean Martin. The film focuses on the years 1945 to 1956, during which a promising nightclub singer named Dean Martin finds himself pairing up with a manic Borscht-
We'd be sure Jerry was right if he wasn't the only one alive to tell the tales. Ah, longevity. Allows you to really write or re-write HIStory. I hope I outlast my friends and enemies. I'll be a genius with all the answers too.

I just hate him, I've seen him in other movies and I think he's a bad actor. And I hate his voice in this.....like I said.....drunk with a stuffy nose.
Sean is an amazing actor and perfect for the role. He is my hero. And I absolutley love the real Jerry Lewis too. I think Sean looks a lot like Jack at the beginning of this part.
Oh I know, I hate the guy who plays Dean Martin it always sounds like he's drunk with a stuffy nose....gosh I hate it soooo much. Sean Hayes though is very perfect for Jerry Lewis.
This bit is so wrong! Jerry didn't want to play Al...He was furious that Hal wanted to take what him and Dean had and change it. This is so wrong. Jerry got together with Cy and they wrote Seymore. and Jerry came up with the name!
I'm sorry, but I think that they should have cared more about showing the truth than about adding the drama... This is not the only time when they add untrue drama in this movie.
the facts concernin' the charactr "Seymour" is wrong. it was Jerry who came up with the character and they all agreed Jerry playin "Al" wasnt right for him. the movie makes it look like Jerry wanted to play "Al" so badly. funny how they got facts wrong lol.
jerrys wife was a snitch, she should have kept quiet.

Jeremy Northam sounds a lot like Deno in this scene! Cept the lines dont sound like something Deno would say.

In Dean and Me, I think Jerry claims he told Wallis that he had to play his stage persona, not act straight.

its an ok take on the whole thing-but it just contridicts alot of what Jerry Lewis himself wrote in him book 'Dean&Me'

Don't hate on Jeremy Northam, he has to work hard to get rid of his English accent.

Yeah, but it just added more drama to it, instead of everyone just getting along swimmingly.
