  • i happened upon this video today & i also sympathize with you & your family. i have been lucky enough to avoid any sort of brutality regarding my orientation, but this reminded me of my (gay) cousin telling me he&his partner had to fire their contractor after they overheard the crew discussing photos of them, calling them names, etc. and SCARY that something worse than words could have hurt them. ah, this world. glad you're on our side! making the world a better place! the end. love, clyde

  • @clydevalentine2240 -- Thank you so much for your compassionate comment. I certainly hope that both you and your cousin never have to endure any kind of brutality just because of your orientation(s). Hate and brutality are so senseless. However, in some cases people react violently because they have certain feelings that they are not willing to come to terms with themselves. Please stay safe! I agree...I hate to think about what else could have happened with your cousin's situation. ~Alex

  • @Sidney38SNJ -- Thank you for having such a big heart and for your kind, compassionate comment. It's such a shame that people such as my second cousin have suffered because of extreme hatred and bigotry. It's so senseless. Thank you once again for your gracious comment. Peace2U, Kim

  • @hojofan I wish I had more then words for you or better yet tears, your video made me cry.

  • @wolfmother8719 -- That comment was so touching. I'm sorry it made you cry, but it really shows me what a big heart you have. You are the only one that has ever told me that the video made them cry. I will never understand how some people can have such extreme hatred in their hearts that would cause them to commit such a violent act. I will never understand the men that took my cousin's life. Thank you for caring so much. Thank you! Thank you! Peace & Love, Kim

  • Thanks for sharing, sorry for your lost,

  • @LESBIANGAYVIDEOS -- Thanks for stopping by to show sympathy for my cousin who was brutally murdered in the prime of his life. Hate is so senseless. Love is the answer!! Peace2U, Kim

  • Hello Kimberly, my serious condolances with the death of your cousin and I am glad you making an antihate video. Do know that : The "Matthew-Shepard-Act" has been through and signed by Obama, so that being killed cause of somebody's gay, is now also officilay a (federal) "hate-crime" in the US. You can look Matthews story up on Youtube. Also info on google, wikipedia.

I sent your video through to friends.

Let's all say no to Homophobia !

    ▼HOMOPHOBIAWATCH▼

  • @Homophobiawatch -- Thank you for being so kind to take the time to leave a comment expressing your sorrow over my cousin's death. I'm happy to hear that the Matthew Shepard Act has been signed by Pres. Obama. Thanks sooo much for sharing my video and message of "Stop The Hate" with your friends. That means a lot to me!! Peace2U, Kim

  • Thank you for your wisdom and your courage, Kim.

    love and blessings to you,

    CG

  • @kathmandau -- Thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate it. Peace & Love2U, Kim

  • Thank you for steering me to your site. Life after death is returning to Sender. At least now you know he is safe. Bless you for your contribution.

  • How terrible, Kim, this is awful, awful, awful. Makes me feel really angry.

  • Hi charitynotclarity -- Yes...It was awful. I certainly can understand your feeling of anger. This type of extreme violent and hateful act is so hard to comprehend. I can't understand how anyone could hate someone else that much. It's so senseless. My second cousin's life was taken way too soon. He was in the prime of his life. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a comment. I truly appreciate it!! Peace, Kim

  • So deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I despair of this world every day, particularly when I hear about things like this. <3

  • Hello 10CPhil -- Thanks so much for your caring, thoughtful comment. Thank you for taking the time to do that. I feel just as you do. It's a shame that people can have so much hate in their hearts that leads them to do such a cruel act. Hope you're having a great week! Your words are deeply appreciated. Thanks for having a heart! :) Peace2U, Kim

  • Do you have proof that your cousin was killed just because he was gay?

It's actually a little obvious that you're trying to get attention somehow through this video.

  • Do I have proof??? You have a lot of nerve asking me a question like this. I am his relative for goodness sake. What kind of proof do you expect me to provide to a total stranger like yourself that sounds rude to me here on YouTube?? "Trying to get attention" -- Absolutely!! I'm trying to get people to see what hate can do to people's lives and that includes my cousin's life. If you don't seem to get that then you just don't get that. Peace2U, Kim

  • Whoa, calm down there. ¬_¬

I was only asking. You don't have to get all defensive. Sorry if you DID lose a cousin, but... =/

  • marmarluxia -- One more thing....the main reason that I stated in the video already about why I made this video was because some people were messaging me asking me what my message "Stop The Hate" was specifically referring to.

  • what an f'ed up comment. please pull your foot out of your mouth now plzzz. don't ask her such a crazy question.

  • I agree with you. Your cousin didn't deserve to be killed by those two men. No one deserves to die the way he did. That's just horrible. I can't understand how people can be filled with so much hate. Thank you for sharing this with everyone here on YouTube. I wish that people would wake up and realize that violence and hate does nothing but destroy lives. I'm so sorry for your loss.

  • No one deserves to die that way :(

I feel sorry for you :~

Anyways, you look so cute, Kim <3

  • Thanks so much for kindness and compassion. Thank you for the compliment as well. *smile* Peace, Kim

  • Well first off I don't really think anyone deserves to be murdered for whatever reason, but for being gay ?

I wonder because while it happens I have a difficult time accepting that a landscaper would kill a gay.

Why is because landscapers know the tastes of their clients and even a closet homosexual would be noticed right off and you said they did a lot of work for him.

Service industry professionals 'profile' their clients and part of that is intuition so I bet it was money or a argument.

  • Curas1 -- Please keep in mind that I'm a family member and I know more about the situation than you. Whether you believe a landscaper would kill a gay man doesn't matter. I know that he was killed specifically for that reason. You said, "even a closet homosexual would be noticed right off" I know people that are gay, lesbian, and bisexual. One man I've known for years is very masculine and no one would ever guess that he's bi. Forget stereotypes. Please don't make bets; you could lose. -Kim

  • I don't want to harp on your personal tragedy, but sense gay homicide has become a point for 'intolerance' it falls under fair game as a talking point.

I ran out of room to make this clear but my point wasn't just stereotyping but profiling , kind of like gaydar sort of speak.

Even a totally straightish guy could be 'read' by someone who's job it is to know their client.

You said 'lot of work' that means long time or nice house n nice house landscapers know tastes, so gay homicide hummm ?

  • I'm not saying that gay baiting and murder don't happen, like that puzzles bar incident, I'm saying that I think gay activist will sometimes encourage people to put it down for the 'good' cause of furthering the movement.

Why not , if it's for a good cause right ?

    exactly!

  • you know it is so sad to hear that i am a gay male

just because of my sleeping prefernce does not mean who any one is on th eiside and you will never find more caring and loving people then a gay person.i hope that whoever did this has payed and has ot look everyday at their life and wha tthey have done

  • Hi there al49269 -- Thank you for your compassion. I've known many people with different backgrounds/sexual orientations/etc...that have open, loving hearts and truly care about others. There are many loving and caring gay/bi/lesbian/transgender that have good hearts and are kind to everyone. My (second) cousin Tony was one of those people. I hope as a gay male you haven't had to endure extreme homophobia. I love people no matter what...if only everyone could feel that way. Peace2U, Kim

  • It's a shame that you have to give a disclaimer on the comments regarding the loss of a life. It is also a shame that someone would have to hide their sexuality upon penalty of persecution and death. But I have hope that someday when someone says "I'm gay" it would equate to "I'm hispanic" "The sky is blue"

  • Hi questionsamson -- I agree. It's a shame that I should have to warn people that if they leave a rude, insensitive comment that it will be removed. You would hope that they would have some empathy when a relative's life is taken. However, as we both know not everybody here on YouTube has empathy for others. No one should have to hide their sexuality out of fear. This country has a long way to go before there will be "liberty and justice for all". I remain optimistic as well. Peace, Kim

  • Hi Kim....I see you are still here sharing your thoughts and your love......I used to be Donivendetta.....but shut down that site because of somethings that happened in my life.....I'm back and getting better...you can visit anytime.........Doni

  • Hey Doni!! I'm glad you're back!! :) I was worried about you. How have things been? What happened?? Peace, Kim

  • I am sorry for your loss. The story of your cousins death truly saddened me.

People are truly disgusting. There is no reason for the hatred that people spread.

Thank you for sharing the story of your family tragedy with us.

  • Hi MsProHomo -- I appreciate your thoughtful comment. Tony, didn't deserve to die at the hands of two men that had so much hate in them. Yes, it was very sad and disturbing. You're absolutely right. There's no reason for the hatred that people spread. Actually, one time I saw a comment that was left by a gay man that apologized to people that he had offended in the past because he had a hard time accepting that he himself was gay. He said it was his defense mechanism. Interesting. Peace, Kim

  • Wow.. How could be people so cruel? I am so sorry for your family family member. What has America become?

  • For AnimationAndPeace -- Thank you for your compassion. I don't know what's going on in some people's heads and hearts when they commit such a violent, senseless act like this. "What has America become?" Good question. I would like to think that in this day and time we live in a more tolerant society, but sometimes when things of this nature happen I realize that we still have a long way to go. Just so you'll know, my cousin was murdered quite a long time ago. Peace, Kim

  • Thank you. I have never understood the cause of this extreme hatred - which I have been a victim of myself. Reason will not stop it because is clearly has deep and irrational psychological causes. I used to think there might be a biological cause - that we are programmed that way - but that's not so. Homosexuality is observed in over 1,500 species, including chimps & monkeys & dolphins, but homophobia and homophobic violence occurs ONLY in humans - and only on some societies. I don't get it.

  • Hello EqualAndFree -- I also find it hard to grasp how anyone could have THAT MUCH HATE IN THEIR HEART. It doesn't make sense to me either. By the way, thank you for thanking me! I just believe in being straighforward and standing up for how I feel. I really do appreciate your thoughtful and informative comment. You're correct about homosexuality being observed in other species and yet no violence. I'm sorry you've also been a victim of hate. Please PM me and share more if you wish. Peace, Kim

  • Humanity can be truly disgusting sometimes. That these men took your cousins life over something so trivial as sexual orientation shocks and saddens me, and I hope they pay for their crimes. I also hope that people stop hating homosexuals soon just as they have stopped hating other minority groups. I want to grow up in a country where everyone is loved and accepted and not discriminated against or killed for who they are. I am so sorry for your loss.

  • Hi wmann5000 -- Thank you for taking the time to comment on my video and for your kindness. Ton'ys death was a shock to say the least...not to mention extremely disturbing and saddening. I also want to live in a country where all people are loved for who they are not for what others want them to be. No one deserves to be disciminated against or killed just because they're gay. This country (USA) of ours still has a long way to go in treating everyone justly. Peace, Kim

  • that is horrible how can people take some innocents life without feeling horrible! i always wonder why certain people like to make other people lifes horrible. i absolutly hated people making fun of how i look! people can be so selfish! im sorryfor your loss he didnt deserve it.

  • Hi Meriah! Thank you for taking the time to express your compassion. That's very considerate of you. I understand what you mean...it makes me wonder if some people are completely heartless and have no remorse whatsoever. My cousin was just sitting in his own home minding his own business and yet he was brutally murdered by those two men. I agree with you - Tony did not deserve that. No one does. I'm so sorry that people have made fun of you. Some people can be so cruel. Peace2U, Kim

  • thank you wasnt all way easy specialy in grade school.....but its all better now! with all my best friends who are there for me!! i dont what i would do with out them., :) meriah

  • i think what those 2 men did is horrible. i dont understand how a person can hate someone else so much that they would do this. it isnt right when 2 people think that because of their hatred towards gays they can be so selfish as to take someones life. im truely sorry for your loss

  • Hi Chad -- Thanks for your thoughtful comment. I really do appreciate it. I know what you mean; I don't understand how someone could hate someone else so much that they would commit such a brutal act either. You're absolutely right - this is the ultimate act of selfishness - taking another person's life. Thank you for being so kind.... and caring enough to take the time to leave such a compassionate comment. Peace2U, Kim

  • Great message here!! This is so sad. I can't believe that there are some people that are so full of hate. I'm sorry about your cousin. You're right. No one deserves to be treated the way your cousin was. This is a tragedy. STOP THE HATE...I AGREE!!! I'm giving you 5 stars for standing up for your cousin and making a video like this. Keep spreading the love "hojo"!!!

  • Thanks so much Cam! I can't understand why there are such hateful people in this world too. You have to wonder what makes people do such senseless, hateful things like this. You're absolutely right...my cousin didn't deserve what those men did to him. I appreciate your compassion... as usual. Have a good day sweetie! :)

  • Hey Horojo how are you and your family coping with things?

  • Hi there! Thanks for asking. You're so kind. Well...lately I've had a few different things to deal with. My grandfather who is 91 had to be put in the hospital for a few days because he almost collapsed. He would be a candidate for a pacemaker if he was younger. They put him on some meds., but he was told it could happen again though. :( My father UNEXPECTEDLY had to have bypass surgery IMMEDIATELY. He had a complication they had to deal with first. He made it through OK and is now recovering.

  • You have my support and shoulder should you ever need me I'm here for you, Kim! I'm glad that you took the time to express your story to the world!

  • As I said, Kim feel free to connect with me as I can be a pillar of strength should you need a goof friend, take care and be well!

  • For deepbreakfast1960 -- Thanks a bunch for your extremely supportive comments!!! Thanks for your compassion. If only everyone cared about everyone else this much....what a great place this world would be. I JUST SENT YOU A VERY LONG PM. Hope to hear from you whenever you have the time to write back! Thanks for having such a big heart. Peace & Love, Kim

  • As I said feel free to reach out and maybe we talk further if it would help ease the pain! xoxox

  • Like others that have posted so sorry for your loss :( no one deserves such a fate... It sickens me that people are so easily blinded by their hate in this day and age. It doesn't matter how you live, what you believe, where you were born, we all are the same and the day the world realizes this the better. If everyone took care of each other without bias the world would be a better place. You spread a good message that I wish everyone could see. Must stop the hate.

  • Thank you so IISharperII much for agreeing with my message!! Yes....we must stop the hate...or it could could harm and/or kill us all. IF everyone would love each other and take care of each other without bias - what a beautiful world this would be!! I really do appreciate your compassion. I wish everyone could see this message too. Feel free to share it with your friends. You seem like a very thoughtful and kind person. Peace2U, Kim

  • Thankyou for sharing this story and this message with us. With the deepest sympathy and warmest regards, I am so sorry to hear the fate of your beloved Tony. There is only one thing that is better than love...and that is MORE LOVE...That is what I feel for you and all of your family and friends of Tony.

    PeAcE

    love Joey

  • Hi 09porcupine - Hello Joey!! I appreciate your kind message that is filled with lots of LOVE!!! MORE LOVE AND LESS HATE WOULD DEFINITELY HELP TO GET THIS WORLD ON THE RIGHT TRACK!!! :) Thanks so much for having such a big heart. This message is one that I wish everyone could here about - a message of love and not hate! Love & Peace2U2, Kim

  • Kim, I am so sorry for your loss. People need to accept and love each other for who they are. There is so much hate in this country it has to change not just for gays, (oh and I am gay) but for everyone and the future we want that to be so much better and understanding. I make LGBT videos and Help Erase Hate videos feel free to check them out. Hugs and prayers to you and your family.

  • Hi there Amy! Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I also wish that people could just accept each other and love one another regardless of sexual orientation, gender, race, etc... If people would take the time to learn more about others, then there would be so much less hate in this world. What people don't understand is what they sometimes fear...and what they fear they usually hate! I'm glad that you're also trying to help erase the hate in this world!! :) Peace & Love, Kim

  • My heart is with you, Kim!

  • Hello Heidi!! Thank you so much for your kind comment. I really appreciate you taking the time to view my video and for your words of sympathy. Peace2U, Kim

  • I'm so sorry for your loss! I agree with you

that we must stop the hate!

  • Thanks for being so thoughtful Liza and...thanks for agreeing with my message!! Peace2U, Kim

  • Ahh my dearest Kim--I'm with you on this without the shadow of a doubt!!!!

WELL SAID & VERY WELL PUT!!!

Let's all promote LOVE & not HATE!!!!!!

I will never understand how people just can't let others live in peace just because they happen to be different!!!

I'm terribly sorry for your loss!!!

With lots of best wishes--Sandra XXXXX

  • Thank you for your thoughtful and loving comment Sandra. Absolutely - let's all PROMOTE LOVE and NOT HATE!!! I can't understand why some people go out of their way to be hateful to others as well. Everyone should have the right to live in peace and not have to fear for their life just because they're different from someone else. With Love & Peace, Kim

  • Very true, stop the hate! I will never understand why some people hate others for things they can't change or just because they are different. Very good video, thanks for sharing it.

  • Thanks Sara for your thoughtful comment. I agree - I just can't understand what makes some people react the way they do to others that are different from them. I wish people could love others regardless of their sexual orientation, gender, race, etc... Peace2U, Kim

  • Hello EVERYONE!! I'm not sure why YouTube isn't putting my replies in their proper place at this moment. If you want to see all of the comments just click on the link to see all of them...and they are there in their proper order! Also, my # of views have been stuck at 303 views for the past few days. Uuuggh....YouTube. Someone else told me this had happened to them before too. Hopefully, the # of views will be updated soon! Peace to everyone, Kim

  • I can tell you're a fantastic person:) so true Kim there's too much hate around and it's up to people to spread the message and teach themselves and the others to stick to what's the right thing and to help stop the hate and it's horrible consequences. 5 stars for u! nice to finally see u;)

  • Hello Bruno -- I agree that there's far too much hate in this world. That hate does nothing but destroy people's lives. It leads to disastrous consequences. By the way, you seem like a terrfifc person yourself! Thanks for the stars Bruno!! Your friend, Kim

  • I'm sorry for your loss and for such a tragic and senseless death. please keep promoting "stop the hate," so we can try to spread a positive message to others. peace2u, kim. eric

  • Hey Eric (no2hate) -- Thank you for your sympathy. It's definitely appreciated. I will do just that...I will keep promoting Stop The Hate". I will remain positive no matter what!! Peace2U2, Kim

  • Also, just a side note, I originally saw this video response on your youtube profile page, along with that description of you. You seem like a really good person. Hold on to that! The world needs more loving people.

  • I think it was very brave of you to make a video like this; it must be so hard to talk about, but it needs to be. We must confront hatred head on if we ever wish to keep it at bay. To use the mere words "horrible" or "cruel" to describe what those men did to your cousin would be giving them a break. I'm so sorry for him and for your family! People like your cousin and Matthew Shepard remain in my thoughts and heart every single day.

  • Thank you raiinbowjunkiie -- I agree we must confront hatred head on. I've never thought of myself as brave. I just believe in standing up for what I feel is right. I appreciate the sympathy you expressed for my cousin and for others that have been in similar situations as well. Thank you for having a heart!! Peace2U, Kim

  • My home city of Glasgow is the murder capital of Europe and I utterly despise violence in all it's forms.... having witnessed the devastating repercussions of the damage it it causes at close hand to people I care about in my own life. I'm so sorry your family have also suffered such a terrible loss through senseless, hate filled violence and support the Stop The Hate campaign 100%

    5 stars.........and favoriting too : )

    Billy.....xx

  • Thanks for being so supportive Billy (payit4ward) -- I can't stand violence as well. Hate and violence go hand in hand. I'm sorry to hear that you have personally witnessed the repercussions of such hatred and violence yourself. Thank you for leaving such a thoughtful comment for me. Thank you for adding my video to your favorites too!! Greatly appreciated! Peace2U, Kim

  • Hi Kim, I completely agree with you. This hate must be stopped. Humans are supposed to be the most advanced species yet we let prejudice rule our lives. I'm so sorry to hear about that tragedy. No one should have that done to them especially because of their difference from other people. Keep spreading the message and I will too and we'll hopefully rule this hate out someday.

  • Hey there David (sweetxrapturedxlight) -- It's truly sad that many people let prejudice rule their lives. Thank you for having sympathy for my cousin. I will try to keep spreading the message of love as much as I can...and I know you will too. Your friend, Kim

  • Thanks to all of you for support and kind words. They are very much appreciated! For anyone that's seeing this video for the first time please feel free to leave a comment and/or rate. Peace to everyone!

  • Vote love...not hate! 5 stars!

  • Hey Lizzy! I'm voting for love and not hate as well. Thanks for all of the stars! Very much appreciated. Your friend, Kim

  • I'm so sorry about your cousin. It's really hard for me to imagine anyone having that much hate in their heart. What a senseless death. It's so sad. I agree with "donny". No one should hate someone just because they are different from them. Love, Cam

  • Hi Cam -- I can't imagine anyone having that much hate in their heart either. What those men did to my cousin was beyond horrific. Peace, Kim

  • thanks for sharing this kim it only proves that love is the way forward and hate has no place in this world if we are to unite in these troubled times, much love to you my friend.

  • Hello jonandhayley -- I completely agree with you. Love is the only way that we will ever unite in these in these troubled times. Peace2U, Kim

  • Great to see you! You look great and I like the tatts. :)

I understand totally the motivation for your "Stop the Hate" vid, Kim. Tragic...tragic...but kudos to you for making such a vid.

    Wayne

  • Hi Wayne (sainter1) -- Thank you for all of your kind words and compliments. Well, you finally got see the face behind all of those comments!! LOL! My cousin's death was defintely a tragedy. it was just so senseless. Thank you for caring Wayne. Your friend, Kim

  • OMG that is awful, I thought ur Stop The Hate vid was just a general message.

My heart goes out to you and your family

  • Thanks Scotty (GayAussieGuy) -- for expressing compassion for me and my family. Peace, Kim

  • Im glad u did this video explaining why hate is completely unnessary.

sexual preference isnt a choice but HATE is. The worst part- hating someone for being different -_- so sad indeed

sorry to hear abt your cousin. :: hugs:::

  • Hey Rick (donnydarko88) -- I agree with you. HATE is a CHOICE and it is UNNECESSARY. Hating someone for simply being different is awful and yes, very sad. Thanks for caring about my cousin and thanks for the "hugs". Your friend, Kim

  • Hi Kim, just got home from work, and want you to know I care for you,and feel sadness for what happen...Fill the world with love....there will be a time when this shall be done! peace and love to you and yours

  • Hi Doni -- "Fill the world with love....." Absolutely! Thank you so much for expressing sympathy for my cousin. Peace and love 2U2 Doni. --Kim

  • this is sad....i really wish people would stop hating someone because of their sexual prefrence.

  • Hello XxxSt8SnipzxxX -- Agreed! I wish people would stop hating others because of their sexual orientation as well. --Kim

  • Beyond words...stop the hate, indeed.

    Please take care.

  • Hi there DVincentW -- Thanks for being in agreement with my stance on stopping the hatefulness that exists in this world. Thank you for caring enough to leave me a comment. Greatly appreciated! Peace, Kim

  • Sorry to hear of your tragic loss. I wish the hate would stop too the world would be a much better place without it. I hope your cousin is at peace & his killers got justice served. Peace to you and your family too.

  • Thank you Knobby1981 -- Thanks for being such a caring person. I appreciate your kindness and compassion. Peace2U, Kim

  • That's OK. Everytime I hear of someone dying not just gay people but anyone who is killed just for being who they are & other's can't accept them its just heartbreaking. Peace 2 u too and hugs.

  • Thanks for sharing that with everyone.

  • For PlasmaDude47 -- You're very welcome! I had been meaning to make a video explaining my cousin's tragic death for quite a while now. Take care, Kim

  • Yes if only everyone had acceptance for all, the world would be a much happier place. So sorry for your loss, peace be with you too. xxx

  • Hi Retrosilk -- Thanks so much for being the first one to comment on my video. I also wish that everyone would be more accepting of others, so that we could live in a more peaceful, loving world. Peace2U2, Kim
