  • @blazzing4321 08 GTR only had LC. now in 2012 they are back on. i believe vette's and the SS are getting LC. & a z06 does have a bigger engine, weights 700 less, more power, more torque, think about that. & for 10k more thats everything included. Z06 the Cardon PKG is 95K & things like Nav, upgraded stereo, better tires is still a option for a vette not standard along with other things.a vette is still a good buy i would never buy one idk if i could handle a vette i take the GTR.

  • @kageryu311 launch control was released for 2010 on all manual trannys in the entire C6 line up. It is now standard I believe for 2012 on the Z06 and ZR1. I really do hope GM releases the C7 with a good 7 speed dual clutch though. Acceleration would greatly improve and that extra ratio will help with mpg.

The only person who can squeeze out that extra performance is either a track experienced driver or someone who drives cars hard for a living. Thats the reason people say, choose the car you like best because trust me, you wont be able to put down all 300-700 horses down onto the road. I never have any room to open my cars up because of the power they push and how dangerous they really are.

That prompted people to decide to prove them wrong and in the end all the hype proved "Yeah, the GTR is fast. But it's still UGLY and slower than me" It's the fans of the GTR (mostly, BOTH sides talk big) that caused the GTR to be the subject of so much animosity. Also considering all the electronics and AWD that the GT-R has... it should win all out.... To me... GT-R's are nice... but they are for people who either can't, have forgotten or are boy racers that drive them. Give me a Z06 with a Proper Manual Transmission and RWD anyday. I'm also a Jap Car owner for years, and love 'em so don't give me that crap.

  • You must not be familiar with the fact that the engines you are quoting is what they would ingest relating to atmosphere in their NA form-14.7 lbs. So when you boost a motor with roughly 15lbs it's like doubling its size. Therefore the TT V6 in the GTR is probably ingesting more air an in fact is completely fair game. Also, these cars produce within 25hp of one another-where did you come up with 1000hp GTR? The size of the engine and how it makes power doesn't matter-they are similar in hp.

  • A premium gtr for 2010 actually costs 83K. In comparison, a 2010 zr1 costs 109.8K. So if you'd rather 110K, then you can go get a zr1, and i'll go get a premium gtr and have 27K left to spare. The gtr already proved itself faster than a zr1 around the ring, only thing i have to do is move half a second faster in a straight. Well, with a extra 27k left to spare, i think i can do that.

    Yeah, but the problem is if you modify it there's a black box that stores something rediculous like 48 hours of data, at any GO! dealership you have to sign a six page paper in triplicate that explains that if you use that $27K to modify the car you may be left holding the bag if something goes wrong. The transmissions in the GTR are sketchy enough. Plus the GTR is "disposable". They total out VERY easily. Take out a headlight and air dam... you're totalled.

  • @nickthedick123321 the C6 z06 is a great car with long gears and leaf springs, I like the fact the it's a true standard gear box which allow the drive to feel more connected to the feel of the car. But the gtr is seat 4 people a lot more comfortably and with full with with the AMS alpha 10 package or the Switzer 1k can beat a Veyron supersport is 2+ million.

You really cant compare a GTR to these cars because its not that good of a car as they are and im not taking about many factors you will never come to think of besides performance. Both cars are strong at each others weak points. A z06 can beat a 2012 GTR with a good driver. Infact the 2011 z06 is faster than the 2012 GTR in both handling and speed past the 1/4 mile.

  • Here is another example. The Veyron, arguably the most technological car ever created. It's motor is thought to be underrated by a good 200hp making it nearly 1200hp. The Veyron has run 10.2-10.7s@135-139mph.

    The Koenigsegg CCX, a VERY low tech balls out lightweight supercar. 800hp but it has run 9.7-9.9s@143-147mph. So despite the most advanced technology ever put in a car, it simply can't beat physics even with 300-400hp more.

Just like the EVO is able to run low 13s despite the horrible 103-104mph traps, just like DSMs, STIs, etc, etc...All technology does ON DRAG STRIP is give it the advantage to be consistent and have traction with a hard launch just LIKE EVERY AWD CAR has been doing for decades.   • @MaxwellReviresco The reason I said put slicks is because you keep bringing up the advanced technology of the GTR like it's ground breaking on the dragstrip. Give the Z06 traction with slicks and the GTR has no advantages as far as CAPABILITIES go, (regardless of all the high-tech gadgets). The tech in the GTR is nice, but when it comes to sheer acceleration capabilities, they don't do anything outside of what AWD cars have been doing for decades.

  • @MaxwellReviresco that 10.79 was done one a 345 BFG drag radial BTW. A lot of power & torque to put down in a very light car. 2.1-2.2 short times are the norm for stock Z06s with stock tires. That's why they trap so high but the ET isn't that quick.

  • @xZZxTakedown & I just so happen to use a GTR as an example. I also used a CCX, & Z06 as examples as well. I basically said that if any one of those cars had half the tech of a GTR they would be even faster. So when it comes to love of the bowtie brand I'm right with u, along w/many other brands. That said though I'm not going to deny praise when it's due...and Nissan deserves praise for the computer on four wheels...

    and the transmission goes because of the awesome launch control feature. only problem is that it wears first gear hard. If you dont want to bust it, dont use launch control. Transmission safe

Sadly GM even put a roll cage in a ZR1 to ensure safety of the driver" but we all know that can knock 1-2sec on a normal track :-( which backs that the GTR times arent that fast.

  • @MaxwellReviresco Well the big talk on Nuringburg, the GT-r was suppose to run like 7:29. Porsche bought a GTR and ran 7:54, which is way off. So Porsche called Nissan out on it and Nissan refused to do another official run. The Z06 did 7:42 which Isn't much slower then the GTR anyways especially considering it's RWD vs AWD. But Porsche made Chevy rerun the Z06 also and supposivly they got a faster time.

Every actual official records like top speed have data loggers, & some type of officials there to test equipment & to witness the record attempts. Even the Bugatti vs the CCX they needed to reach an average between two runs within X amount of time to be labeled a "record" Soon that standard will ketchup to the Ring b/c of it's growing popularity of benchmarking a cars performance.

  • @TiKondaRoga Actually the offical GTR time is 7.26.7 which is 0.3 split second slower than the ZR1 which ain't saying much since it has 158 BHP more and 310 KG lighter than the GTR and the Z06 time is 16 seconds slower than the GTR which is a mega difference....

The V-spec is fantastic it has a new Boost - controller giving the car extra power but still producing 485 BHP and instead of more grip they gave it more aggression at the back wheels for more fun. Yes real cars are about performance and thats differently the GTR...Nothing ricer about it...

If buying 400k car was made for showing off then why do people race them and compare to other supercars, why have all that power if it was only made to show off ?? Obviously they ain't thats why they are called Supercars for a reason for super performance...
