  • This is actually my favorite movie ending.

  • how old is the kid who played bunny boy in this movie???

  • @TheCallumjeanes there's little information about him (jacob sewell)... but he was probably 12/13

  • The dead cat at the end, was that the same cat the girls were looking for?

  • the top two comments both perfectly explain this movie...this ending is one of the best I've ever seen. It just raps the whole thing up so ambiguously. The tornado part is so eerie..

  • If you're drunk enough, this scene can actually make you cry. No shit, and No homo.

  • @bull068 almost cried sober my friend.

  • Wow...it's almost like the characters know they are about to be obliterated by a mean tornado. I love this film - only rated it a 6 on imdb - yet it's one of my favourite movies..I can't explain that. Maybe becuase it's not enjoyable. It's not a conventional movie...but I love it.

  • @weirdcitykid

Actually seems I misinterpreted the ending:( See I always assumed that the toranado was coming (ie we were watching a doomed city and it's people). But most comments seem to sugest otherwise. I mean it's raining...so that could mean another tornado is about to hit.

  • weird

  • @deerWTF

    Yes?

  • @weirdcitykid the movie is very good and disturbing but its weird as well

  • @deerWTF

lol sorry I was making a joke becuase you said "weird" and that's my name so I went - yes?

It is a good film though.

  • @weirdcitykid lol ;)

  • Damnn bunny boy xDD

  • I don't understand or even really know if there is a "deeper meaning" to it, but I still love it because it elicits emotions from me much more than other films. If that makes sense? I don't know.

  • @McMakisha I felt exactly same. then checked the clips here on youtube after watching movie.read some comments.

watched this /watch?v=iBevc5qQFYg&feature=related and this here few tames. korine says he shoot this film like outside to inside. its a mixed bag of everyhing. for viewer well some ppl homophobic some of them hate feet etc etc. but like the powerful nature of a tornado, the movie itself prooves a boy shooting a dead cat while his fag bro is in his mind is very well defined.

  • Roy Orbison never sounded so good.

  • Why they swimming in a pool when its raining. Thats how you get struck by lightning. These people i swear

  • fucking masterpiece

  • This movie is real. It is exactly what goes on in midwest tornado bait cities/towns. The scene when the guy is embarassed by the dwarf wrestling him down. You want to stop the horrible attack you know is coming, but instead he breaks the chair. I've seen drunks do this. Very nerve tingling. Then you just want to break the asshole's neck. The thrash music, with animal torture, what sick shit ! I can't explain it.

  • ._. That was the missing Cat. :c </3 Excellent movie... <3

  • @XxXslipknotfreekXxX its dead cuz of food trap that fag kid placed. they didnt shoot this cat at the beginning of movie cuz it was a house cat then in this scene they are shooting over and over. excellent movie indeed.

  • how is this weird? the rain is just as out of the characters' control as the tornado that destroyed the city and ended so many lives. on one hand, characters swim in a pool full of rain, smiling and actively loving each other despite it, as a result of it; others shiver in it, cold in soaked clothes mutilating a dead cat. how is that not completely straightforward and understandable? ffs, listen to what roy orbison is saying.

  • @rustybonaparte dude explain it to me i wanna know i havent got that up

  • My progression of appreciation of this film started with utter disgust and has bloomed into utter adulation and wonder at what this movie does to the senses. It inhabits so many different areas of the mind and pulls at so many different emotional strings. Too many people are trying to find a singular point in this movie. That is like trying to define a rainbow by one of the colors in side of it. This movie went right over the head of conventional critics. A true, unabashed masterpiece of Art.

  • this movie sucks so bad its not even funny. Kids, Bully, and Ken Park is way better than this.

  • @TorienBeast way to put something down without giving an explanation. you're beautiful.

  • This movie is so fucking great.

Its critics are first class yuppie pricks who cant understand how fucked up and believable some of this movie is.

  • good movie

  • this movie is so wonderfull, its not what people want to see in life, and it makes a point that reality is alot stranger than most moveis, this is how life is for alot of people!

  • so fucked off that i can't buy this film on dvd BECAUSE IT'S NOT AVALIABLE ANYWHERE AHHH YOU ASSHOLES

  • the part at the end of the movie where Bunny Boy makes out with the two blonde girls in the above-ground pool while it rains...as Cryin playin in the background

that the single most beautiful to ever appear on film. it has such a haunting grace to it

  • i found home when i watched this

there is a place for people like us

we are revered like the witches of old

  • @Shirvannn amen.

  • this film should have won the golden globe for best drama

  • una de mis ecenas favoritas :P

  • Weirdest movie ive ever seen.

  • It's a shame Nick Sutton being the main character of this Gummo't get much attention. He was on an episode of the talk show Sally Jessie Raphael about kids who are drug addicts and he was portrayed as hooked on huffing things. That's how Harmony Korine claimed to have discovered Nick.

  • this is such a fantastic scene

  • Must sound so stupid asking this but who's the artist behind this song?

  • roy orbison its cool its an old song.

  • @turtledeerbirdinsect roy orbison

  • i didn't understand this part where the bunny starts to make out with the twin blond girls. How the hell did he get to make out with them?

  • i get it

  • @lougmk because he's a prostitute and he's good looking

  • Because he isn't a scumbag.

  • there were a lot of interpretations over the movie Gummo because of how open-ended and abstract the film was because the story is non-linear and there are so many layers within the story that are surreal and dark and my interpretation of the movie is that there is a religious message within the characters and the movie itself because the characters were Nihilistic and, maybe, sinners and Bunny Boy somehow represents jesus christ of sorts and Madonna's song Like A Prayer was playing in the movie.

  • @Mr1991ladarius religion has no place in this film...

  • @dooovde Yes it does, it's quite obvious for a person observing the Movie..even if it doesn't makes sense, it stills has a mysterious message.

  • this film is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen..

Absolute perfection...And the meaning is so poignant

  • @stassiface i have to kinda agree the ending just made me cry seriosly i don't think theres another guy that cryed at the ending off this movie and i don't even lived or waz ever in the states!!!but some how i understood the real drama of the ending scenes one off the best ive ever seen!!!

  • LOL Jamie sung this on X Factor last night! Louis said it was cheating (again) because it wasn't a movie song (that was the theme)... clearly Louis doesn't know how to use the internet... he should have googled it...

  • easter comes early.

  • this movie is so strange and disturbing, yet its fun to watch...

  • This movie was sooo weird that it made me love it.

  • this movie is so fucking weird

  • isn't it great?

  • and so great :D

  • good movie!

  • playa pimp l

  • <3333

  • was that real footage from the F5 that his Xenia

  • no it was footage of rosie o donnell exhaling.

  • whats the name of the song thats playing when Tummler and Soloman are breaking into the Queer Catkiller's house?? i cant figure it out when i look through the soundtrack.

  • Comment removed

  • who s the song artist ?

  • Roy Orbinson i belive.

  • yeah roy orbison crying

  • This scene is very sad

  • i think this is such a sweet movie

  • again...WTF

  • why they kill the cat

  • They sell cats to a local restaurant supplier and get cash for it.

  • This movie PALES in comparison to the MASTERPIECE that is "KIDS"

  • Ken Park is the best!

  • do you know where I can watch it online ?

  • You can go to stagevu . com (hope youtube doesnt remove that) Or just go to IMDB, the KEN PARK board. Over there is a post with the link to where you can watch it. I enjoyed it more than kids cause it was more simplistic and less 'all ver the place'.

  • Dude I watched it....that movie was just horrible. It also PALED in comparison to kids......Ken Park was just pure porno, it was rediculous.

  • "Pure porno" LOL To be honest, that's probably why I like it. (A lot of ppl felt that it had unecessary nudity)

For some reason Ken Park amuses me. There are parts in that movie where I find myself just laughing hysterically. It's been ages since I've seen KIDS, but I do remember momenst of feeling it dragged a bit. Different strokes i guess.

  • Can you PLEASE send me a link?

  • u just have 2 type in gummo part 1 on youtube and so on

  • WORST PIECE OF SHIT EVER MADE! kids was good but this is fucking pathetic. no meaning just a disgrace to white people. fucking sick

  • Although I can't pretend to really know much about this film just from the clips I've seen, I would have to say one of it's merits would have to be it is a film that can cause debate and conversations like the ones below. Not many films, mainstream or not, actually get people to think about their context and how they fit into our society

  • Gummo is actually a horror movie...

  • ITV: Pseudo-Intellectuals thinking understanding a "deep" movie makes them look smart.

  • Couldn't agree more. This movie is really just weird for the sake of being weird. I don't think there's an actual meaning to it. The pseudo-intellectuals would say that we're "wrong" and too "closed-mined!" We've lost their respect! If there was any purpose to this at all, I think it was supposed to be a representation of life in rural america. Like any hollywood indie filmmaker really understands that. Having grown up in the south most of my life, I've seen far worse than anything in this film!

  • Failshift: Definitely think you're onto something with that comment. Food for thought: these intellectuals are likely coddled in Ivory Tower communities for so long, the bleak reality of working poor and white trash utterly escapes them...until this film comes along and just JARS them awake.

That's this movies brilliance - jarring awake the pseudo intellectual.

Of course there's no point, and it's not deep, but it still makes you think.

  • The only real "meaning" of the movie is to discust you beyond belief by these strange people. Thats basically it.

  • WTF IS GOING ON?

  • Are you people serious. Harmony Korine is a genius. The greatest filmmaker of our time. Just because you don't get it don't make yourself look like complete idiots by posting these comments. If it offends you it's supposed to. Don't watch it. Go back to watching your Academy Award Winning bullshit and teen comedy crap and shut up.

  • I don't know about "the greatest filmmaker of out time", but Korine is definitely good.

  • You're a fucking moron dude. Learn punctuation and stop posting your outlandish opinionated bullshit.

  • Could someone explain what's so special about this movie? I watched it recently and found little value, it seems only like a very straightforward exploitation film.

in b4 suicide poetry & white trash doesn't make a film amazing

  • you don't get the point it's ok, just don't slander it just because you couldn't understand it. go watch the normal hollywood bs if you can't understand films like this one.

  • Obviously this film is a religion to you. Kinda sad how you devote so much time to dropping comments about it all over YouTube. Its -just- a movie.

Do you listen to Sigur Ros, Coldplay, U2 etc and worship Steve Jobs, as well? Or are they too mainstream and accepted?

  • no, they just suck (except for sigur ros)

  • U2?

  • Yeah, the Irish rock band fronted by Bono. They often head the Africa benefit concerts etc and are heavy into politics.

Not U-2 the spy plane lol

  • this last scene is so powerful and sad, it's just a great movie.

  • This movie reminds me a lot of my childhood.

  • i don't know why i was so moved by this scene. i began to feel sorry for the characters.

  • umm i saw this movie and it really only disturbed me.

i dont like it! at all.

    its fuckin wack!

fuck ohio, my dad lives there!

    cali all day bitches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • fuck cali you punk bitch

  • haha your funny!

but you know damn well you'd leave the boonies if you could.

looks like your stuck though! hahahahahahahaha

  • First off i don't live in the boonies. Second i'm in the Air Force so i'm not stuck anywhere. Third when I get my loan i'm moving to the boonies to avoid fucktards like you.

  • your just doing "fucktards like me" lol a favor.

i couldnt care less though sarge. really i couldnt!

and if we go to war with korea... have fun!

  • this is unquestionably the greatest film ever made, an absolute masterpiece in a class by itself. stunningly original and utterly brilliant. and anyone who doesn't see that is indeed an idiot. gummo ruined me, because i knew after watching it that i would never again see anything of that caliber, and of course i was right.

  • well done bunnyboy ;)!

  • blur!! nice !!

  • Does anybody else wish they'd just cut to black after this and put the girl with Down syndrome singing about Jesus somewhere else in the film? I know that was a wonderful ending, but cutting to black after the silent Bunny Kid forces us to look right in the twisted and hollow face of a cat murdered for no reason would hammer the point home. I felt taken down a bit by the end as it was.

  • and yes jkqd14, i've always felt the same way. ironically, it's the one thing that bothers me about this film. had he done it our way, it would have been unthinkably perfect, and perhaps the entire space-time continuum would have unravelled. we'll never know, but we have to forgive.

  • one of my favorite films and one of the best and underrated films ever made.

  • harmony korine is fucking weird

  • so was the devil the black dwarf or the main mullet in the blue shirt?

  • No this is where they rebel against everything they learned from American culture. It's not sad, it's beautiful.

  • thats the sadest part :( lol

  • lol

  • this movie was an experimental movie you retards

it's about the art of life, and trailer trash

so next time think before u comment instead

    of acting like a retard

    thanks! :)

  • I could defend it, but I'd rather not spend the next 2.3 years explaining each aspect of my defense to you. C'est la vie, mon frère.

  • you should be executed for raping your mom and inbreeding.

  • technically I hate this movie so that would be the opposite As in you should be arrested for doing that not me.

  • i'm sorry you can't comprehend anything other than the linear narrative bullshit that hollywood is constanly puking out into movie theaters.

  • Comment removed

  • this is not experimental.

just because a movie is off-beat doesn't make it experimental.

  • Your second sentence is true, but it doesn't apply to this film. Have you ever seen a movie that looked or felt like this one? Or dealt with these profoundly disturbing facts of life?

  • I said this movie is not experimental.

I have seen better movies than this about disturbing facts of life. I didn't say this didn't deal with it. I just clearly stated that this movie was not main stream... but that doesn't make it experimental.

    I appreciate art... trust me.

  • like what movie that deal with disturbing fact?

  • if you've ever seen brand upon the brain... its a surrealist movie that i feel has a deep meaning of a man who was abused by his parents and then made this film in an "off-beat" and "unique" style. i really recommend it. i found it more engaging and interesting than this film, no offense to those who enjoy it.

  • alright i'll try it thanks.

  • anytime :]

  • ericlynchsucks sucks my wetback dick

  • smells like PUSSY!

  • Oh you REALIZED? Wow, what a STRIKING and ORIGINAL realization you've got there.

He didnt make the movie with the intention for people to like it, he made the film because he wanted to see certain things that just werent there in cinema, a person like Korine is plagued by images he sees in his head, and sometimes film is the only outlet to make them real, you dont like it, then move the fuck on-no one gives a shit that you didnt like it, go write a Rotten Tomatoes review or something.

  • I LOVE THIS MOVIE

    this rabbit smells like... PUSSY!!

  • I can't tell but is Tummler half-crying there?

  • That was the part that depressed me the most.

It looks like some disturbing realization of their sorroundings.. Like every depressing aspect of the film is coming into view.

    D:

    I sound pretentious.

  • yeah... makes me cry :(((

  • that pool scene, despite everything these characters are and what they do, is still hot as hell

  • agree smokin hot.

  • fucken ay man

  • I actually found the pool scene kind of 'sweet' Maybe I am weird

  • i love bunny boy!

  • and Footfoot too!

  • what

  • Comment removed

  • thats right

  • Comment removed

  • whats this movie about?

  • wierd children that's what this movie is about.

  • A cat is fine, too.

  • what....the....fuck....beautiful.

  • Ah future serial killers, warms my heart lol

  • beautiful movie! this part is the best ..love it

this movie is representative for the bmx culture

  • that is sad

  • dam that shit is crazy

  • somehow reminds me of Tarkovsky's "Stalker", but in very bizarre way

  • it's about the same thing as stalker... just in a bit less circumspect way

  • You're lookin at a 6 month stretch if the authorities track down your IP - you criminal

  • right. i'm as much of a criminal as you are a fuckin genius. nice attempt at being original.

  • So that makes me a genius, right? You criminal.

  • Unfortunately, this film signifies so much of what is wrong in the USA. Basically, the elites just leave the lower class to fester and make their burgers for them. NO decent health care, no decent educational standards. AS long as the wealthy get away with paying virtually no tax at all - then everythings just fine. It has to change otherwise there will be an innsurrection in the south west within 50 years, and millions will be killed.

  • wow. you are truly a visionary...of complete and total bullshit. "...this film signifies so much of what is wrong in the the USA"? are you fucking kidding me? go back to mopping floors you neanderthal. yeah, we have our problems, but we're not unique in that regard. we're getting there, but it won't be by way of an insurrection in the southwest my brown skined friend, it will be a revolution of the conscious. so go fuck yourself. by the way, GUMMO is a great fuckin' movie.

  • There is a scene in the movie where this "rich" guy calls them trash. And yet he is the creepy molester.

  • I loved that. "Nothing new for trash like you!"

  • Can we say immense film?
