@moxie997 I live in Connecticut and I didn't even know there was any Heavenly Donuts anywhere else besides here. I thought it was just a local place since I have never seen one anywhere else.
@squezey1 Heavenly Donuts started in Bradford, MA, and I know back in the 80's they built one in Methuen, MA and another somewhere in Connecticut... I didn't know it was still there. Maybe it was spun off from the parent company. They just built some more in Salem, NH, Haverhill, MA, Lowell, Lawrence, and North Reading. I just hope they don't become so big their quality goes down like alot of other places!
These Fred the Baker commercials were always the best and always make me nostalgic of growing up in New England. Now if we can only get a Dunkin' Donuts in California I'd be thrilled.
@Ichbing . You aren't missing ANYTHING. DD is nothing like they were prior to the early 80s. Krispy Kreme is MILES better than DD, at least the dougnuts are still made there in front of you...and you are reading a note from a lifelong New Englander.
My opinion..you want a really good doughnut? Go to a specialty bakery. DD is nothing now but just another fast food joint.
@danieljh I think the only thing I like at Dunkin Donuts is their hash browns when they are fresh and those cheese bagel twists. I go there often because it's convenient but it's nothing special and their donuts are the most thick, hard, and flavorless things I ever ate. We used to have a Krispy Kreme where I lived but it closed down, they had the best donuts I ever ate, so soft and sweet.
@squezey1 We used to have Krispy Kremes in my state...but I guess they closed down due to low popularity. Because of this, my dad often brings back Krispy Kreme donuts from Erie.
He looks so much like my beloved Grandmother in this commercial....the dress, the wig, the gloves..but NOT the moustache... LMAO!! This ran back when she was alive and I was in college in the 80's. Love it...thanks for posting!!!
That's true that, for the Dunkin Donuts commercials and the Dunkin Donuts cereal commercials his name is Fred The Baker but, his real name is Michael Vale.
They looked so much better back then, before they were made in factories. Good thing we have Heavenly Donuts here in the Merrimack Valley!

Yeah, he is trying to cover his mustache and half the time he doesn't. Guess the donut people aren't very smart.

He has a Hitler-esque mustache.
It was super funny when he was trying to cover it up with his finger, and the guy hesitantly said "Ma'am?"
