  • de falla &Gorecki r da harpsichord concerti u always see. There must be hundreds others. This one is fascinating how da hell can u hear a little concert harpsichord over all the other thrashing instruments. How do u get da balance.Violas cant be heard over other strings .I must se da score to this.I thikI will use colored pens .Mozart did it in one of dem dang viola quintets. So pritty pritty not like Elliot Carter but that was a long time ago.Carter was around almost way back ie then.Woo hoo!.

  • I'm not saying he's just blindly scrawling on the scores as pictured above.....but does he have to use crayons?

  • Apparently not, seeing as how he didn't.

  • @John11inch

    Fine then, colored pencils.

  • @intervalkid Its marker, dumb ass.

  • @Clarinetgenius12

Dude, that's fucking hilarious that you think it makes a difference whether he scrawled in crayons colored pencil or marker. You are a sychophant.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

  • Fantan-tiddly-tastic.

  • Mais... mais... mais c'est de la merde !

  • @mamourizd en tout cas c'est très moche ! :-)

  • I Love. This music. The. Harpsichord. Is unique. Bravi. !!!!!

  • Which recording is this? Is it from an album or a live performance?

  • As to Krzysztof Penderecki's Harpsichord Concerto.

    Get Well Soon.

  • Thanks so much for this John11inch!

Penderecki for me has the keys for outer dimensional gates. For me going directly from the Stravinsky's Rites of Spring to a mesmerizing piece like this is to travel back and forth to the unknown without need of drugs!

  • just think what would happen with drugs.

  • fuck drugs

  • @sebfumaster you'd probably throw up!

  • I actually had Schott make me a copy of this score from his manuscript... studied this piece quite a bit. I like this recording, I have 2 versions of this piece, and this recording is the best among the 2. He wrote this piece for Eastman, and it was revised in 1991.

  • @23BET23 Do you know how to get a hold of the score now? I'm doing a study of 20th c harpsichord concertos and this would fit well...

  • I'm afraid I don't. I think Schott briefly published a lot of his older works; I'd ask them first. Some of Penderecki's older stuff is simply impossible to find outside of a library, though. Best of luck.

  • how did he think this up

  • I fully agree that this is his best work , I wonder who's performing here , I have versions with Elisabeth Chojnacka and Elzbieta Stefanska - apex Warner Classics cd 2004-the use of electric and bass guitar and double bass makes this kaleidoscopic work so interesting.

  • wow, this starts off exactly like his metamorphosis violin concerto.

  • awesome

penderecki is one of my favorite composers

  • HAHA This is just great

  • Awesome username.

Yup, I love this recording. Penderecki should have written a piano concerto in this vein, though.
