  • I thought he said someone was gonna play an EYE PATCH! LMFAO! I am MOST def a deaf bitch HAHAHA!

  • Glenn Tilbrook - one of the most underrated songwriters of all time.

  • They still sound great!

  • great sound - great band -great songwriters

  • hmm...why are everybody's comments being removed, it ain't me doing it?

  • @cathoderoy

I have no idea. Glenn Tipton and Squeeze is the single greatest pop band since the Beatles. Actually, I like Squeeze better.

  • @garcemac Tilbrook, actually...just so you'll know when praising them in the future.

  • @cathoderoy

Typo, sorry. Thanks for the correction. I never would have caught it you didn't respond.

Tilbrook, Tilbrook... It won't happen again. Apparently my mind was in one more place than it could handle.

Thanks, man. I feel like an idiot now. - lol.

  • @garcemac

I'm not going to delete this even though I messed up. Alcohol is bad, m'kay?

    Tipton? WTF?

  • @pzbafrance Whaddaya mean?

  • This is sooooo damn good

  • iPad baby! Nice.

  • I'm floored. Performing live on TV is absurdly risky. Sometimes it just doesn't sound worth a crap. That's why in the 60's and 70's a lot of bands would either just not do shows like SNL or they would lip sync and play instruments that were not plugged in on shows like American Bandstand. Squeeze is a tight band. I'm not even a big follower. I own none of their stuff but boy, they're pros. Nice.

  • @TheShoreAlternative Although I just saw them in July at the Uptown in Napa and he used his iPad there also!

  • Lol! Is that Kiefer Sutherland on drums?!?!? HA!

  • @jharri1 Bruce Willis

  • not only do i not like this song, i hate the words to it. "Pulling Mussels from a Shell". that just doesn't sit right for me. i searched this just to see what other people thought of this and to put my 2 cents in and give this a thumbs down.

  • @TheEgg185 you suck

  • We saw them in Hamilton, ON on the last day of their North American Tour. They were and are brilliant. Feel free to come back anytime, Squeeze!

  • just saw squeeze a few weeks ago with cheap trick...Afuckinmazing!!!

  • They sound great, and looked like they were having a great time performing. Great post!

  • why

  • Still and Always the band I love!

    Thanks Squeeze

  • What Galley99 asked!

    : )

  • It was reported that Squeeze said they wanted to sound as close ( if not better ) than the originals!

    They did it.

  • Still sound Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Rehab?? what was up with him? drink? surely not drugs at his age!

  • Who's the hot blonde sitting next to Fallon?

  • @Galley99 Jennifer Lawrence, an actress from Winter's Bone. She seems quite cool, you can look her video up on late night with jimmyfallon. com

  • @cathoderoy I agree. They did have a good "Squeezish" song with "Picking Up The Pieces" but the rest lacked the oomph that is the band.

  • @cathoderoy I agree. They did have a good "Squeezish" song with "Picking Up The Pieces" but the rest lacked the oomph that is the band.

  • @cathoderoy I agree. They did have one good "Squeezish" song with "Picking Up The Pieces" but everything else lacked the oomph that is the band.

  • Rockin' the IPad!

  • Squeeze was a Great Band, But they have a nerd in the piano in the iPad,

but prefered that they call one (or more) that their old friends Jools Holland, Paul Carrack, Chris Holland, Andy Metcalfe, and Bruce Hornsby.

Jools and Bruce with two Steinway Grand Piano (one Ton each) are much more that a Millon of iPads.

  • Bravissimi!

  • Fave band of all time - saw 'em at Leeds Uni in 1986!!

    Love 'em

  • Saw Squeeze last night.....outstanding...thought it was 1980!!!! um Hey Jimmy Fallon....can ya get the name of the song right????? not "the shell"......."a shell"!!!!! They did just about every song off of 45's and Under.....one of my all time favs.....highly recommened.....blew away the opening act Cheap Trick!!!

  • Saw them 07/10 at Ravinia. They were great. Chris is ultra-cool!

  • @cathoderoy :VIVA NERDS!

  • Nice drunmming Simon !!.....how cool is this,...cooler than cats

  • I don't feel like William Tell. I feel like I'm 14 again. They sound great, iPad gimmick and all. Timeless song.

  • No offense- the app might be great but come on- for a live performance?

  • Brilliant they sound as good as the original record. C'mon up to Winnipeg.

  • The iPad part was very gimmicky... But it worked for me!

  • Do yourself a favor and search on youtube,,, Squeeze were superb

  • iPad app: Bollocks... Glenn Tilbrook is the music genius pulling the mussels and the behind the song

  • LAME! THE IPAD IS NOT EVEN HOOKED UP TO A WIRE, WIRELESSLY OR MICROPHONE DIRECTLY UNDERNEATH THE IPAD'S SPEAKER.

THE SOLO LAST TWO NOTES PLAYED ON THE IPAD DIDN'T EVEN PRODUCE.

    ASHLEY SIMPSON WILL LOVE THIS.

  • @iownallhmongdjs If you actually look with your eyes, there's a wire trailing out of the leftish side of the iPad - you can see it hanging at times. And also I'm sure the guitar and crash cymbals just dominated those last two notes. You can tell he's playing it live...wouldn't go as far as saying there's mistakes, but it's just not as smooth.

  • @TheShoreAlternative

The Roland VK-8 does, in fact, have an acoustic piano sound and I guarantee it sounds better than the iPad. There is no difference in using the non-velocity sensitive iPad and a crappy toy keyboard from Walmart.

  • @ColinGabrielSmith the piano on all of the Hammond-ish keyboards (Nord isn't so bad) sound horrible. It was a last minute fill in spot for Squeeze and gimmicky though it might be it's always cool to see a band with vintage sensibilities stretch into new technology yeah?

  • excellent song with an Ipad

  • Tilbrook still kills it on the vocals! lovin' it.

  • Fabulous!

  • Lord Large strikes again! That is one bad man!

  • Awesome band and song. That iPad bullsh*t is such shameless advertising though. THERE IS A PIANO IN FRONT OF YOU!

  • @Ekustix As if that's not shameless advertising for the Roland keyboard?

  • @Ekustix No, there is a Roland keyboard set to a 'jazz organ' patch in front of him.

  • Comment removed

  • @Ekustix And the word "ROLAND" in 6 inch letters on the front of his keyboard isn't? What is it that makes people blind to innovation? It's not 1979 anymore. Join this century, eh.

  • Is that Keifer Sutherland on drums?

  • @PierceMedia nope its Simon Hanson who plays in the Fluffers with Glenn and Stephen Large (keyboards).

  • As writer of that app I must say this has made my week.

  • @MooCowMusic - The App "Pianist Pro" was covered this week on the "iPad Today" podcast and it looks great!!!!! Congratulations. It looks like a must have for me.

  • @cathoderoy I once saw "Squeeze Acoustic" featuring Difford and TIlbrook. That was a great show. I also saw "Squeeze" two different times without Difford (he was in rehab each time). not as good.

  • Brilliant. I saw them last night at Radio City Music Hall in the fifth row.

    Very tight.

Please get over the Joosl Holland fixation.

He was a great keyboardist for Squeezed but abandoned the band twice.

    Squeeze IS Difford and Tilbrook.

  • Comment removed

  • Better than ever. Jools turned down even a one off reunion so he can go bite it..

Stephen Large has won me over even though I was a big Jools fan.

  • @squeezeaway Yes Stephen Large is great on keyboards, he and Simon Hanson (drummer) along with Lucy Shaw (bass) have been playing with Glen for several years in the Band called the Fluffers. (see flufferstv on youtube). They have a great album out and do great live performances of their stuff, Squeeze stuff and Glenn's solo stuff.

Stephen Large and Simon Hansen have an energy matched only by Glenn.

    Lucy Shaw: bass

    Stephen 'Lord' Large: keyboards

    Simon Hanson: drums

  • iPad Solo!

  • thank you chernball !!!

  • Well, not all of Squeeze....wish Jools was touring with them.....

  • @crimsonwhite1 Yeah,anybody but Paul Carrack...

  • @crimsonwhite1 Saw them last night in Los Angeles and I can tell you the current keyboard player (Stephen Large) has some serious chops.

  • Love the iPad solo!

  • ! I love theses guys but, not as much as The Talking Heads or Elvis Costello.
