This battle is a bit boring. It's far too easy - notice how the team don't really formulate any kind of tactical plan; they don't need to, because the enemy army is fed to them in dribs and drabs. They're getting a LOT of help from Hammond during both the skirmish and the main battle, much more than any of the other teams did. On the other hand, Mike Loades is on top form in this episode (and the Hastings one, too). I wish they'd make a show that was just Loades and Goldsworthy talking history.
@HoRsECaRtEr Actually the show didn't use Rome Total War at all; it used an early code of it, the show starting in September to December 2003, the game released in November 2004
This episode was released in January 2005. Barbarian Invasion was released in November 2005.
@MrWafflesMcWafflesx7 Hayell no. Lasted from 2004-2005. The game was followed up with Medieval II Total War in 2006, then Empire Total War in 2010. Graphics have substantially improved from it, but the interest apparently isn't there.
@BloodiestMargie Damned shame, that is. I just discovered this show back when you were uploading these (January) and I really, really wish they continued it. (I've never played a Total War game at all!)

Conserve energy because you're going to be into a major battle... does she realize that its a computer game and not real life?
