in europe normally electonics Hz is 50Hz, and USA 60Hz... if you shoot in 1/50sec
or 1/100sec in europe or 1/60sec and 1/120sec in US you schould be safe.
sometimes the lower rate works better, sometimes the higher, it ven depends on which kind of look you like and how many frames you record... so read about the shutter rule for video and film...
you will see at your liveview if you have rolling stripes or not
@TheRealChina It's called depth of field. People in video production spend thousands of dollars to get this 'both sides are very blurry'. Go watch a movie.
Thing is, this guy is using a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 lens, so he basically had no choice as to depth of field: when filming with a Nikon D90, the camera automatically selects the widest diaphragm aperture available, and there's no changing that. This means that this vid was shot at f/2.8, which results in very shallow DOF.
Should have put the 'thomas the tank engine' music on this ;) or even better - helicopter noise - so it creates the illusion that the camera is on a tiny helicopter!
does this lens auto-focus?

Just because it's possible, you don't HAVE to use it in every shot... I too thinks it's a bit much here.... but nice vid wolfcattube!

great vid, I love model trains. The colours have come out great and love the DOF. Are you using a light on top of your camera?
