(He took Christ's name right out of it) On April 26, 1838 he again changed it to THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER DAY SAINTS. It seems JS has a hard time making up his mind which would explain his 9 differing versions of his visitations. The LDS.corp official version is not even one of his!

The coming of the Lord in 1891 (history of the church volume 2 p. 182.), obviously did not happen- David W. Patten to go on a mission with joseph smith and others in spring of 1839. (Doctrine and covenants 114:1) David Patten died in October of 1838, thus he could not go on a mission the next spring.

iI am currently in lds church in Australia (I lived in Europe as well as New Zealand for 8 years) and we have all sorts of colours here in our branch, I didn’t experience racism yet...there is actually no other one place where you can see so many different cultures and everyone tries to look beyond physical appearance… But if someone is resist in the church they obviously don’t comprehend the gospel and need to work on it more...

@RenaWith, in Relief Society on Sunday the teacher and sisters agreed that other churches think they have the truth and that during the Millenium people will have the opportunity to become members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They chuckled at the thought that other churches believe they have the truth. Negative comments were also made about people who believe they have authority from God, but don't hold the priesthood that is bestowed upon worthy males in the LDS church.

The only problem with that is that John the Baptist never had either. He knew that the Christ was coming so he also knew that the carnal precepts of the old priesthood were about to be obsolete because Jesus was there to fulfil all the law. @worthwithin If he had actually been an Aaronic priest he would have been living in the temple and on Holy Ground and he would have been performing the daily sin offerings. Secondly the Aaronic priesthood was an hereditary office so unless they are giving the each and every elder a haplo test to see if they in fact have the Cohaim marker and they are Levites it's safe to assume that they aren't. Thirdly the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. No temple/ No sacrifices/ No Aaronic Priests!

@ldsmember1 I spoke with some Mormons in the Philippines and learned that they use all the same terminology that Christians use, but the meaning is different. Like being born again, they mean enlightenment. But they do not believe in the original sin of Adam and that spiritual death being passed down to the whole world through his seed hence the need for our spirits to be born again or regenerated. They also add to the scriptures the book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's writings.
I never heard of the word enlightenment in Mormon church and I’ve been a member for 15 years. Born again means being baptized and converted. When you repent for all the sins and are forgiven through the atonement of Christ...... why would you say things like that that are not even true?

I was taught that there was no hell and that the lowest degree of glory is so incredible that you would kill yourself to be there. No wonder Utah has the highest suicide rate in the country! @worthwithin If he had actually been an Aaronic priest he would have been living in the temple and on Holy Ground and he would have been performing the daily sin offerings. Secondly the Aaronic priesthood was an hereditary office so unless they are giving the each and every elder a haplo test to see if they in fact have the Cohaim marker and they are Levites it's safe to assume that they aren't. Thirdly the Temple was destroyed in 70 A.D. No temple/ No sacrifices/ No Aaronic Priests!

I went to the youtube site that Brittonsp suggested that would according to him prove this lady was never a mormon and the whole thing was a hoax. I went to the site and I didn't see anything, nothing at all of any proof of that. All this site did was to repeat the video. @ldsmember1 I spoke with some Mormons in the Philippines and learned that they use all the same terminology that Christians use, but the meaning is different. Like being born again, they mean enlightenment. But they do not believe in the original sin of Adam and that spiritual death being passed down to the whole world through his seed hence the need for our spirits to be born again or regenerated. They also add to the scriptures the book of Mormon and Joseph Smith's writings.

I was taught that there was no hell and that the lowest degree of glory is so incredible that you would kill yourself to be there. No wonder Utah has the highest suicide rate in the country! You can never be good enough or do enough so you become suicidal. I'm in a ministry that does this research, I have heard hundreds of stories about suicidal thoughts and have known people who have commited suicide.
