Truth is, 70% of the time, the cards are gonna play them selves. And, certain situations arise. Like, high flush beats a high flush. Back in the day, the "greats" became "greats", because there were only a thousand or so playing in the tourny. There is over 400 million people in america. And anyone who can get to the table, knows the rules, has some sense of strategy, can win. After all, there are only three actions -raise, call, fold.

I'm not saying I wouldn't have made the same mistake but I think she erred with her exit hand. She admitted she didn't have a read on her opponent when she re-raised all-in. She gave him 3:1 odds to call, so she didn't have much fold equity. She still had 12 BBs left; plenty of time to wait for a better spot.
agreed. My friend played against her in casino too. He was able to bluff her out so easily. He pretended he was having a flush draw. Then by river, when there were 3 clubs, my friend raised all in, she quickly folds. Guess what my friend had? 3 5. LOL. My friend is thinking about entering WSOP Main Event nxt year. If people like her can rank within top 50, anyone can do better if they play poker efficiently and not play like donk.
shes so dumb . she thinks, like alot of NOOBS, that they have the game figured out once they learn pot odds or fold equity, but shes a moron. she chases gut shots, she shows her emotions. i cant stand her.
Do you plan to attend WSOP? I really wanna enter. I just don't have 10k to enter. I usually play in small tables, play mostly in $20 buy-in table. One night, I won $600 bucks in one table in 9 hours with $20. LOL. I plan to attend tournaments with higher buy-ins. So far, poker was just my hobby and kinda like my side job, easy money. But now, I'm thinking if I should go furthur with it. If donkeys like these can make 6-digit numbers easily, why not me.
YOU CAN play any of the smaller tourneys, you dont have to play the 10k, or you can win your way into the main, ive done it 4 times. with even 100 bucks you can win a 1 table satallite, take that 1k to another table of 10 people, and win it, and you got 10k, theres other ways too,. easy i tell ya !
Yes. As you said, I moved up. I play in 5/10 no limit and I buy in with 300 bucks now. My bankroll is at 7k and I play live in casinos. Which casino do I play in? I play in Hawaiian Gardens. But I did start with 20 bucks. I started with 20 bucks, won 300 bucks one night, 600 bucks second night, 1800 third night, and then I started my bankroll from there. I moved up to 5/10 NL HOld'em in live game. Anyways, my friend is high roller who played against Maria HO in commerce and he owned her.
short stack? I play 5/10 live and carry 2k which provides multiple buy ins in $300 buy in tables. How is that short stack? It's not a high rolling table but it sure ain't microstakes. And considering the fact that I got upto here by grinding from 20 dollars, I'm happy where I'm at and I'll move up when I keep building my bankroll.
$300 at 5/10 is 30 bbs though. If you're fine with that, okay, but it's obviously shortstacking. I'm just surprised at people shortstacking like this live.
I can put in more if I want to. But there's no need to. 30bb is fine. works out for me. Being able to re-buy 7 times is good enough and makes up for it.
Try this for yourself. Call with any crappy cards and then when scary card comes on river, such as third suit, or straight card, raise very high or push all in and she'll instantly fold. Very simple, at least from what my friend told me. She's very gullible.
That's because it's not a common pro tactics... Pros don't bluff like some idiot. If you play against a poker pro with idiot tactics, of course the pro can't read you; however she will beat you on poker math alone.
There's reason she finished 30 at the main event whereas most people can't even hope to get to that level.
Then obviously, she's not a pro. She's just one of those lucky flukes. I've played against one of the main event players who went deep when Raymer won it all in a home game. I won't reveal his name because he's a very nice Vietnamese guy who gave me advices, tips, etc. I've beaten him several times but he even says that in main event, if I just don't do anything stupid, have luck on my side by avoiding bad beats, i can make it deep. n e 1 with common poker sense can go far.
I stand by my comment. For clear proof, check out Darvin Moon. That man admits how good run of cards and solid plays with common poker sense got him to final table. I'm not saying I'm Darvin Moon and can make it to final table anyday but any veteran or experienced player who understands the concept of this game fairly well while having good run of cards can make it deep. Anyone can get to her level. Not anyone can win consistently. That's why you'll never hear anything from her again.
I coinflipped my way to win over 3000 bucks. After that, I play in 5/10 and got my bankroll to 7k. I carry 2k in my wallet to play and keep 5k in my crib. I'm just saying what my friend told me, who plays high stakes around california casinos. He played in commerce against Ho and he bluffed her around so easily. He just wanted to prove that she got lucky to get to where she is in 2007. People who get good cards throughout whole tourney can rank within top 2-3% of main event easily.
It's actually pretty common for Chinese, so I guess I'm more used to it and don't get why people think it's a big deal. I think there's an american one "Aho" as well, though don't know which is worse. To be ho, or to be a ho. Hm.
I played against her at last year's WPC and she's got a solid, typical pro style. But she needs to catch cards to go deep and that's what happened at the WSOP. BTW, she's smoking hot.
