Thompson Contender .223 .30-06

That is a Thompson Encore, not Contender. The Contender is not designed to handle the chamber pressure generated by the 36-06. The Contender is chambered for big boomers like the 45-70, 30-30, 44 Mag, and such but not for high pressure rifle rounds. The Encore was built to be bigger and beefier to handle high pressure rounds up to the 300 Win Mag, 500 S&W, and most conventional popular rifle rounds.

@jstomprud5 i can tell ya now, your right AND wrong XD they have 2 pistols there. just looke at 2:23. the first, the .223, is a contender, you can tell by the selector switch on the hammer, that toggles between rim and center fire, the encore doesnt hae that. the second pistol, the 30-06, IS an encore, again by the fact that there is NOT a switch on the hammer. you are right about the specs though, youll never see a contender in 30-06, just like ya dont see one here XD

I just lol when he shot , I was wishing I was sitting there shooting mine. .30 herrett with sierra 110 GR. HP . also .223 40 or 45 GR. super explosive....Both in Super 14'' Barrels. Got it in 1982 or 83...

I had the .221 fireball , .222rem and .223 rem and found the .221 fireball outperformed the others with the 10" barrel since it was more efficient in such a short barrel. The other 2 just had more muzzle blast and waste of powder.

Man, i played this vid on 480p and it looks almost as good as 720, very clear! I enjoyed it. I have been wanting a TC pistol for a while now. The G2 Contender is luxurious--one can fire both rimfire & centerfire cartridges in it, useful & versatile. I bet there are custom caliber barrels made for it often as well! The single shot looks like so much fun. I want .223 and .17hmr. I also wouldn't mind something like .41 mag or .44 special. The .44 long colt with the .410 is cool too.

by the way the 30-30 barrell is what you were shooting if im not mistaken i dont think that they make a 30-06 barrel for the contender and i perfer the 30-30 even though its basically the same thing.

I can't believe everyone doesn't own one. You can go from .17 to .30-06. Shoot all day for Pennies. You may wanna look at rubber grips. They're great for shock reduction and look great!

@RichardTheThirdd The movie Hard Target was stupid as far as the T/C was concerned it was 45-70 with a 14 inch barrel not something you could shoot with one and and hit the inside of a barn.

Yes I have a T/C with a .223 and you don't want to shoot it with one hand either.

what you just said does not make sense. The gun was designed to have a small frame but pack a punch. I have one in 30-30 and shot a doe at 112 yards. The guns range is limited to how far you can shoot it. A 30-06 is a 30-06 no matter what gun you shoot it out of...the ballistics are the same...Same goes for the .223. My cousin has a contender in .223 stainless and he shot a coyote at 187 yards and flipped it right over. You simply have no idea what you are talking about; and stop saying "noob"
