You forget to mention expensive too... Lot's of sodium that's not good for your health. Dehydrating and drying foods is more effective and less expensive than buying...
The mountain house freeze dried foods are just that - freeze dried. They don't have to add any sodium to preserve it. A serving of Chili Mac mountain house freeze dried food has 540 milligrams of sodium. A serving of Campbell's chicken noodle soup has 890 milligrams. Not to mention the #10 cans are edible for 20-30 years.
