what happen here atualy?? no need to fight abaou where sape from ok..we still the same borneo.and it gona be nice wo listen on the sape lute..cheers! sadung ke diak meh aik tuak nyak!
I'm Iban, and I can tell you for sure that the sape actually originated from the Orang Ulu tribes. However, during Gawai, most Ibans use the beautiful sounds of sape (most of the time pre-recorded) to complement our Ngajat warrior dance. You can say we pretty much adopted the instrument, but give credit where credit is due... it's of Orang Ulu origin.
Examples of musical instruments native to Ibans are the tawak (gong) and engkeromong (small gongs arranged like a large xylophone).
This the so call the Borneo's traditional country instrument I believe hv a spritual melody, its molody is really touching...it can make u packed yr things n go bk home...or if u're a brokenhearted..don't ever hear Sape melody...it can throw u out to hell....bukan Sape sebarang Sape Ha !!Heeehee!!
I've lived on the Island on Borneo for 19 years and i can tell you that this is in fact an Iban Instrument... i have been to 100% traditional Iban festivals such as Gawai among others and they played the Sape... the Hornbill dance is Iban and requires the Sape for it to work...
sape is a very nice instrument i tell u that
