  • FYI: there's an app for mac called SwitchResX which will allow you to scale the resolution of the screen (I use 1280x720).

Question 1: I assume you swapped out the factory wifi, if so which card?

Question 2: do you dual boot it with Windows, if so HOW did you manage that I've been at if for two weeks now...

  • Answer1: Yes, i replaced the factory wifi with an dell 1390 one.

Answer2: First make 2 partitions, first for windoof and the second for osx. Install windows on the first one and then use easybcd (This tool works only with the Vista and 7). For Xp there is another resolution...but the name..i doesn't know atm.

then install osx normal on the second position. Then repair the bootloader with the windows installations cd.

    Have fun.

  • I've tried that method, but the problem I get is that when I go to install OS X I can't mount the the partition I set aside for Mac, I assume you have to run a command at boot to force mount the disk?

  • do you use the disk utility in the installation?

  • does it hang at times? can you watch HD movies?

    can you video/audio edit?

  • Hang like a bluescreen on windows? NO! The Atom platform is not realy fast, so, it runs not bad, it is a little bit slow like a mac mini with a powerpc cpu. Yes you can edit Videos, but the encoding is very very very (...) slow ;)

  • can you photoshop flawlessly without the programming hanging? or watching xvid/divx movies without hanging? Like it happens on a windows laptop with poor configuration.

  • I don't use Photoshop under OSX, but under XP it runs normally with 2GB Ram..The Atom platform is not fast, but its enough for little works... I mean HD Video edit is better on a real desktop with 4cpu cores..

Divx and standard SD movies runs great, dvb-t is the same. OSX runs good, not fast, but you don't missing a two core cpu

  • thank you very, very much for the info. really appreciated!

  • did you upgrade your ram?or is it already fast enough for 1000he to load os x?

  • It is fast enought, yes, but i prefer a ram upgrade. Its better for XP, 7, OSX or your favourite OS. One GB Ram is atm too small.

  • Did you get wireless working?

  • By swapping the wireless card - Yes!

  • 10.6.1 atheros card supported!!

  • Hey, where did you get this background from!? (:

  • This background is integraded in OSX xD

  • You just gave me one more reason to hate Windows. xD

  • atm i have installed it new.. So i am at 10.5.6 and i don't need 10.5.7, but everything works great like before reinstall. I needed more space on my parition for imovie.. I know, its slow but it does the job..

  • hi, I wounder if it's posible to use to partions of the harddrive, one for xp and one for os x, and if you can read files and se movies from the windows partion from os x.

  • I made 3 Partitions, one for xp, the next one for osx and the third for multimedia. If you install "NTFS-3G" you can access on the ntfs partitions on mac os x.

  • yes, please make a tutorial on how to do this. ill subscribe to your videos. thanks man.

  • Nice, I would do this, but I wouldn't want to have to take apart my 1000HE and install a different wireless card just for it to be fully compatible.

  • HEY can you have a DUAL BOOT? Say Xp on C: partition and OSX on D:???? Thanx good VIDEO and the 1000HE looks pimp in WHITE! I likes....

  • Yes, i have dual boot, and it works great ;)

Try google with "[Tutorial] Bootreihenfolge ändern, Bootreihenfolge von OS X und Windows XP ändern (kein Vista!)" Use a online translator or serach self for a tutorial with the "chain0" methode ;)

  • does wifi work with original wifi card or did you replace it

  • Hi, it should work with the orginal card and with software from relink, but this solution is not realy good. I replaced the card with an Broadcom Card. This card is 100% OSX compatibel.

  • can you show us how you did this..... nd how you managed 2 get everything 2 work

  • Yea, i will make a video tutorial this week if i had enough time!
