i watched it occasionaly on disney. i understood why they edited out the blood, if its gonna be on disney of course they would edit some blood as they should. the only thing i hated about it was the pacing. it took forever. it doesnt matter anymore because im pretty sure it got canceld on disney since it hasnt been on in over a month
Naruto Shippuden is not meant for little kids, most of the box sets are rated 15 and was banned from UK and Ireland television. Being on Disney XD is still not such a big deal, the word BASTARD is censored like it matters, so that we giggle at the word we all say everyday. But true naruto fans will still hate to see it fiddled with, to them it's like drawing a big ass mario mustache one the Mona Lisa. In my opinion; find another channel which does not censor it... I agree completely, A year ago I was pretty selfish on the issue. Now I realize to just acceptit, its no big deal, just watch the weekly streamed episodes on the internet.

Some people cannot understand editing. True, it may alienate fans of the series, but if you a true fan, you'd fucking watch it anyways, buy the uncut versions when they come out and support it. Stay true to the series REGARDLESS of what Viz does with it. Companies have to market it to MAINSTREAM MEDIA. If you accept this, subscribe to Disney XD, watch each episode, and then MAYBE anime can be resurrected. CN or AS MIGHT put new anime on (Cowboy Bebop is still on after 9 years of airing in 2001)
This is the longest useless rant i've heard in the long time. People who see the uncut version bash Disney XD because its not as fun to watch since we already saw the uncut version.
Most people i know just forget about disney XD completely and pop in the DVD uncut. Most people could care less about it being on Disney XD. Just like Dragon ball Z Kai on nicktoons. (Actrualy thinks DBZ Kai is worse because they skip episodes)
I just watched the Disney XD version, and it wasn't that bad. What NGS said was right, they will get better and tone down the editing and hopefully find a better word than 'destroy', that word was overused in the Dragon Ball Z Ocean Dub.
The director of the English dub has confirmed that each of Hidan's lines has two versions: one for DXD (no cursing and less Jashinism) and one for uncut (still no f-word, oh well!). And I am one of the biggest Hidan fans, and I am still going to see what they do with him. Just give it a chance.

To be honest I dont really think that disney is gonna hold onto Shippuden. Its much too violent of a series even with their grandiose edits. Just think about what disney's attempts will be at editing the Hidan & Kakuzu arc. Heads get cut off & Hearts get smashed. I also dont really believe that they can skip over that either. But they can try, its not like things dont worsen later on. In the series in general.

3. naruto on DXD is not a disaster. naruto being heavily edited is the disaster.
4. why waste money on dvd's? also, CN is more watched than DXD, so it would be more proper for naruto to be on CN.

You know the edited version on TV isn't that terrible. Compare it to stuff that came out years ago and was edited i.e. Sailor Moon (they turend Zoisite into a girl -_- and how DBZ dub got butchered in parts i.e. Dr. Gero's story was messed up in the dub). I actually like the Shippuden dub as much as the Japanese version.
I'm not a fan of dubs of most anime. When I'm introduced to a new series then I check out the manga first because the manga is almost always better than the actual anime. If I like the manga then I will go on the internet and watch the anime in subs. I'm sorry dude but I hate censorship of ANY kind. This is why I'm mainly a manga fan. I personally don't like the Naruto anime in sub or dub but the manga kicks ass.

I completely agree, it doesn't really matter about being on Disney XD, that's a channel for action shows, so it's a good choice. It's not that I don't worry about what will happen to the dubbed show, it's really both the companies' reputation and the kids I'm worried about, considering it'd be impossible to cencor everything Hidan curses. The below average dubbing is all I don't like, and that is to be expected considering Disney XD released it as soon as they did.

But thats not the point. The point is that Naruto isn't airing in Sweden. And there isnt even a translated version of the Anime in sweden. We got some fandubbs on youtube, more for fun and thats it. I agree. even though im not from America i get to hear alot from this topic. In my country ( Sweden.) we don't even get Naruto on TV. There does not even exist any Swedish Naruto content except for the Manga. And the manga gets like a small bookshelf in the stores, with like four-five other mangas, most. (One Piece, naruto, FMA, Bleach, DBZ) The funny thing is that we got Disney XD in Sweden. Swedish Version. They have dubbed like every show there is, like Zach and Cody and some random shit.

I think if these fools want to complain about the editing and are too lazy to download the uncut episodes online or buy the dvd's, then they should put their money together and make an all anime channel.
The Japanese versions are SO much better so it really doesn't matter that Disney fucked them up. The English shippuden versions are extremely behind. I will probably be dead by the time the English ones get to where we are now on 154-155

about the sai thing, the english voice actor for sai (Ben Diskin) said that for the tv version Sai will comment on Narutos muscles and him being weak. While on the uncut version he will say Naruto doesnt have balls. He said that despite it being uncut they couldnt really have him say dicks or anything like that

Some people cannot understand editing. True, it may alienate fans of the series, but if you a true fan, you'd fucking watch it anyways, buy the uncut versions when they come out and support it. Stay true to the series REGARDLESS of what Viz does with it. Companies have to market it to MAINSTREAM MEDIA. If you accept this, subscribe to Disney XD, watch each episode, and then MAYBE anime can be resurrected. CN or AS MIGHT put new anime on (Cowboy Bebop is still on after 9 years of airing in 2001)

Most people i know just forget about disney XD completely and pop in the DVD uncut. Most people could care less about it being on Disney XD. Just like Dragon ball Z Kai on nicktoons. (Actrualy thinks DBZ Kai is worse because they skip episodes)

I just watched the Disney XD version, and it wasn't that bad. What NGS said was right, they will get better and tone down the editing and hopefully find a better word than 'destroy', that word was overused in the Dragon Ball Z Ocean Dub.

The director of the English dub has confirmed that each of Hidan's lines has two versions: one for DXD (no cursing and less Jashinism) and one for uncut (still no f-word, oh well!). And I am one of the biggest Hidan fans, and I am still going to see what they do with him. Just give it a chance.

im just wondering, please feel free to correct me on this one: do you actually watch the japanese version? because at the minute im recieving a fair amount of bias, as you failed to mention any good points about the blood and/or the exaggerated violence eg. major plot point in the hidan and kakuzu arc. but either way if they decide to go all the way with the dub i want to see what they do with the invasion of pain arc, surely people will be offended by the likeness to 9/11 ¬.¬

To be honest I dont really think that disney is gonna hold onto Shippuden. Its much too violent of a series even with their grandiose edits. Just think about what disney's attempts will be at editing the Hidan & Kakuzu arc. Heads get cut off & Hearts get smashed. I also dont really believe that they can skip over that either. But they can try, its not like things dont worsen later on. In the series in general.

2. you're yelling at us for our own opinions. everyone in the world has different views.
3. naruto on DXD is not a disaster. naruto being heavily edited is the disaster.
4. why waste money on dvd's? also, CN is more watched than DXD, so it would be more proper for naruto to be on CN.

@subzero2327 Actually, Cartoon Network DROPPED it because of their new CEO and there were too many complaints on the blood, sexuality, and the adult themes in the storyline. Plus, they had to pay for each episode there is to air, and DXD has the WORLDS LARGEST ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA COMPANY

THE
WORLD.
And Disney XD is marketed to preteens. So, a Shonen anime (which is for preteens, but in Japan the content is less strict on content) is has to be sanitized.

Actually he doesn't, Subbed episodes NOT by Viz can be inaccurate and over exaggerated. Hidan isn't a constantly cursing laugh machine in the real series, niether is Tayuya. The F-word isn't even in the Naruto anime, I don't even think I've seen it in the manga so far. Do some research OTHER than watching Fansubs and actually support the series. I'm not a fan of dubs of most anime. When I'm introduced to a new series then I check out the manga first because the manga is almost always better than the actual anime. If I like the manga then I will go on the internet and watch the anime in subs. I'm sorry dude but I hate censorship of ANY kind. This is why I'm mainly a manga fan. This dub isn't as bad as One Piece (thank god), but come on. Are you really comparing it to the "worst case scenario"? It's still a bad dub. Deidara's arm getting ripped off (with no blood). Sasuke not taking out his sword (come on son). The blowing up and massacre of sand village soldiers, WITH NO BLOOD. are you f-ing kidding me? I completely agree, it doesn't really matter about being on Disney XD, that's a channel for action shows, so it's a good choice. It's not that I don't worry about what will happen to the dubbed show, it's really both the companies' reputation and the kids I'm worried about, considering it'd be impossible to cencor everything Hidan curses. The below average dubbing is all I don't like, and that is to be expected considering Disney XD released it as soon as they did.

But thats not the point. The point is that Naruto isn't airing in Sweden. And there isnt even a translated version of the Anime in sweden. We got some fandubbs on youtube, more for fun and thats it. I agree. even though im not from America i get to hear alot from this topic. In my country ( Sweden.) we don't even get Naruto on TV. There does not even exist any Swedish Naruto content except for the Manga. And the manga gets like a small bookshelf in the stores, with like four-five other mangas, most. (One Piece, naruto, FMA, Bleach, DBZ) The funny thing is that we got Disney XD in Sweden. Swedish Version. They have dubbed like every show there is, like Zach and Cody and some random shit.

naruto shippuden is kinda violent and there are some fights that are really brutal. what i don't get is that they still license it knowing the content. how are they gunna handle jiraya vs pain?

My dad works for disney and I know how the company works. I live in Orlando and Disney would throw anybody under the bus. They dont give a shit about the fans they just want money. Being aired on television in america isnt the problem. Its the fact that its on disney xd that is the problem. Voice acting sucks ass too in english. Japanese online all the way. If u cant read and keep up with the subtitles thats your own damn fault because your probably a 8 year old fag.

@CoreyLinnJinn or you read slow, like me so I just pause the scene real quick to read then play the episode. Just because you can't keep up with the subtitles doesn't make you 8 (I'm 16 and a half)

it's just like with the Hunter X Hunter english dub. hardly anyone knows about it. like Naruto Shippuuden UN4 no commercials no ads no nothin and they hardly sell the boxsets anywhere. and they still expect to make money off of it. it's no wonder they might not dub the OVA's
