@AlAinJinn No. Nowadays there are only few pure finns and only few pure swedes though. All nordic nations are mixed quite well. Originally finns come from Middle-Europe (or literally from Far-East, but those guys lived hundreds of years in Europe before moving to Finland, so finnish origins are theoretically in Asia but practically in Europe). Swedes come from the coasts of Black Sea (mainly from Ukraine), but they are really, really mixed with germans, italians and nordic nations. Answer is no.

After all, its none of Swedens business what we learn in school and sweden has no power to control it anymore, its just been kept there because of tradition. lol got to remember that one :) the worst part is there is some truth to it. i think most reasonably educated swedes are anything but proud looking at the years 1933-1945. it doesnt mean one cannot be prod to be a swede (or swedish born american in my case) but those years certainly were not our finest.

The allies had no intention of aiding Finland, they wanted to occupy Northern Norway and Northern Sweden to halt the iron ore trade with Germany.
But obviously they needed an excuse to land troops in Scandinavia, but luckily the Norwegian and Swedish governments suspected what the allies real plan was and said no.
Just think about it, the allies did noting to help Czechoslovakia, they did nothing to help Poland (they declared war but they took no action other than that)
I am quite certain the allies had no interest in war with the USSR, especially since they were already at war with Germany.
And even if they had really planned to help you, how do you think the Germans would have felt about having Finns fighting together with French and British soldiers?
It is not unthinkable that Hitler would consider Finland a part of the allies because of this, it could have lead to a German invasion of Sweden and Finland.
Yes, we did deny the allies passage, but you should nevertheless be grateful since we allowed the Germans to march through Sweden so that they could help you.

@Principal16 Suomi hävisi sekä talvi- että jatkosodan. Kummassakin sodassa menetimme alueita ja jatkosodan jälkeen jouduimme myös maksamaan sotakorvauksia. Suomi luovutti Neuvostoliitolle talvisodassa menetettyjen alueiden lisäksi Petsamon ja joutui vuokraamaan Porkkalan 50 vuodeksi ja takaamaan sinne Neuvostoliiton sotilaille vapaan pääsyn Suomen alueiden kautta. Sotakorvauksia tuli maksaa 300 miljoonaa Yhdysvaltain dollaria kuudessa vuodessa ym.

Stalin sanoi että ne yritti vallata Suomen ennätys ajassa, mutta eihän ne ryssät päässy ees paljoo rajasta eteenpäi ku saivat jo turpaansa. Karjalanha ne "vaan" meiltä vaa pysty pöllimää loppujenlopuks vaikka niillä oli moninkertaisesti isompi armeija ja siis tarkotan että PALJON isompi.

I respect and thank your volunteers, but I do NOT respect nor thank your state that denied passage of Allied aid because they were too fucking afraid of the Soviets getting angry at them, too. lol got to remember that one :) the worst part is there is some truth to it. i think most reasonably educated swedes are anything but proud looking at the years 1933-1945. it doesnt mean one cannot be prod to be a swede (or swedish born american in my case) but those years certainly were not our finest.

The allies had no intention of aiding Finland, they wanted to occupy Northern Norway and Northern Sweden to halt the iron ore trade with Germany.
But obviously they needed an excuse to land troops in Scandinavia, but luckily the Norwegian and Swedish governments suspected what the allies real plan was and said no.
Just think about it, the allies did noting to help Czechoslovakia, they did nothing to help Poland (they declared war but they took no action other than that)

I am quite certain the allies had no interest in war with the USSR, especially since they were already at war with Germany.
And even if they had really planned to help you, how do you think the Germans would have felt about having Finns fighting together with French and British soldiers?
It is not unthinkable that Hitler would consider Finland a part of the allies because of this, it could have lead to a German invasion of Sweden and Finland.

Yes, we did deny the allies passage, but you should nevertheless be grateful since we allowed the Germans to march through Sweden so that they could help you.
And I think it's rather mean to claim that it's an grave insult to write in Swedish in this context. There are many Swedes living in Finland with Swedish as their native language, but they are also Finlanders. May I remind you that your national poet Runeberg was Finland-Swedish?

My grandmother is Finland-Swedish but she lives in Sweden and nowadays she can hardly make herself understood when visiting Helsinki.
