  • this method is better cuz there's no gut smell. thx a lot

  • The knife is a Buck Alpha Hunter. I love knives and have a lot of them, but this is aways on my belt when I am afield. For more info on hunting and eating jackrabbits find "Jackrabbit Jim" on facebook and download the "Jack Book" free.

  • r they good ?

  • There is a misconception that jackrabbit tastes bad. After sucking up my pride I ate jack rabbit after harvesting 2 of them this month and they taste just as good as cottontail. Too bad I passed up so many over the years.

  • Great video wish i would have watched this first

  • awesome video.......looking for good rabbit holes near the phoenix area......any suggestions out there?

  • Jacks in Saskatchewan are much larger in fact.

This video is the best I've ever seen. And to think I always gutted them whole and cut the head and tails off!

    Thank you for this video.

  • darn that thing is HUGE!

  • Thank you for posting this video. I found it not only interesting, but very informative. Now I just need to get out and harvest some Jacks.

  • I heard that there is a BIG taste between Antelope Jackrabbits and Black tail Jack Rabbits? Is that True? If it is what Jack tastes better?

  • It's wabbit season...

  • Jack rabbit backstap is delicious

  • Thank you for posting this. Very well done. I cleaned my first animal (jackrabbit) after watching this. Couldn't have done it without your great instructions.

  • Nice video, and I guess two tree hugers din't like it. Oh well.

  • you are good at cleaning game, but you wastyed alot of meat.if youcook off the ribs or barbeque them they have more meat than you would think and they are delicious

  • Very good technique!

Don't mess around with all that gutting and dressing/preparing the parts that don't really get used. The quarters and backstraps are the only things to really eat on a rabbit.

  • This is one of the best videos on the subject that i have seen. Note to reader~ If you have dog/cats or any other meat eating pets, you can always cook the rest of the rabbit and use to feed them. Curing the fur for artistic use or what ever would be another good video to watch. I do not think ill be eating rabbit anytime soon but you never know =).

  • cook in a crockpot until tender or almost cooked.

    Then de-bone.

Place in a pan and cover with your favorite BBQ sauce and finish

    by baking in an oven.

    Cook slow and low heat.

It will surprise you how good it tastes.

  • how do u cook a jackrabbit?? crockpot? grill? im about to go hunting and im jus wondering on how im gonna cook it.

  • Great vid. This will really help for when I just need to quick clean one (and not save the pelt)

    Thanks for posting. God Bless

  • Subscribers have u ever Hunt and kill a rabbit?

  • @PrivatePanic Many, many rabbits and hares over many years. Your point?

  • they're huge! i prefer hunting/eating cottontails

  • @teles4life You haven't seen those 4 ft tall ones have you?

  • well acully i though they were bitter

  • Good, clear, informative vid. Thanks. Could you please tell me what knife you were using?

  • I really enjoyed this video - great job!

  • I really enjoyed this video - great job!

  • Nice... I always thought that Jackrabbits were generally not eaten. At least that's how I was brought up. I'm gonna harvest a few (because I see them ALL the time where I hunt) and try a few recipes... Thanks for posting!
