What will you say to something like that? Great? That isent even close enough tu describe what kind of emotions songs like this transporte. Something... just like that.... is a gift from jeah from where? Its a gift from somthing thats higher than normal beeing, jeah he was just a human like all of us, but there was something inside him that is in all of us... that he had shown us through his guitar. Thank you Stevie, Thank you really not only for Music...Thank you for Inspiration!
Life without you is to SRV just as Little Wing was to Hendrix. Cool similarities: both songs end with the final words being the song title. Both songs also end with a bangin' solo for an outro and fades out...
There is a version of this song, live of In Step.... he pretty much does what he does at 3:25, but its much longer, and he just slams it against you. This song, and what he says in it is so true, that you actually need to be there for the ones who need you and love you the most. Thanks, Stevie. You just did such an awesome job saying it how it really needed to be said. Hearing these words..... how could you not agree with what he is saying here?
Thats the thing, what is cool about these kinds of movies like I Walk the Line and Charles is that the actors actually sung and played their instruments. This gave these movies a really authentic feel to them. My only concern of a movie about SRV is how is the person playing him suppose to match his guitar playing prowess. its impossible. But i still feel like it would be a great movie, as in a lot of ways SRV's life is very similar to Ray Charles and Johnny Cash.
Just listening to all of his soul and his message and looking at these comments. It amazes me how one man with one message can bring forth so much loveand thankfullness. I wasn't alive when he died but I listen to his music everyday and I think his music and his person are just incredible. He is my hero i never met. RIP SRV. 1 of the greatest guitarists ever.
This is the single greatest, most emotional, heartfelt, soulful, and intense performance I have ever seen by any person at any time. And it is a video on youtube. Imagine being in that room...
I am thankful that I am 'so' old to have been able to see SRV months before his death in Memphis... He changed my musical soul. I pay tribute to him every day. God love SRV.. Playing for him in heaven.
every now and then, God sends us a gift. SRV, was nothing short of perfect. you can have all the gear and even use the same guitar but you will never ever get the sound and vibe that Stevie poured out. . it is so unfortunate for us he can not be on this earth anynore to pour out his soul through that old six string. Music heals the soul, stevie"s music did this and comforted it also. a total embrace of emotion came out of every note. thank you for every gig you ever played Stevie.
thats one sweet guitar he's playing.. damn Stevie friday its been 20 years, i was 11 at the time, i can forget about being able to play like u cuz there is only 1 you, but i can do my best do be such a great guy like you were, funny but i kinda miss even though never met you, you're the greatest dude!! see u at the show up there together with phil lynnot and bon scott.. RIP from Holland
I think that was Stevie's spouse, so show some respect. If it was, this was a hard fought golden moment in her life that all should appreciate and respect. So don't say stupid disrespectful shit.
"make you run from love-because you can't stand how good it looks'. Been there and am grateful to God that He helped my out of that situation. He gives us so much and He gave it to SRV to proclaim it through this wonderful song. Run to to love people!
Truly inspirational.... for him to speak out against drugs and drinking and comeback afterwards and play this well. Much respect to the greatest guiartist of ALL time.
This is soo much more than just an awesome player, unbelivable. and it s titled life with out you.this is the best of the best of what man can create.
There is no way i can say thanks enough.Ehwnever i am weak i play this video.I guess i owe you my life.I am a real Dad noe thanks Stevie.Thank you so much.
@TheBuilder65 Only the great die young!! The days of original artists like Stevie are gone-but PAALease..don't ever again put him and that oboe playing SOB in the same sentence!! I know you meant well!! RIP-The Great!
It's a 1962 Strat with a hardtail bridge. The pickgaurd is routed for 3 Danelectro Lipstick Pickups. Great sounding instrument. I'm building a SRV Strat right now. I am in the Relicing business. So, if you know anybody that wants a good relic job, just message me. PEACE
This performance is the epitome of kick ass. It is remarkable. This level of artistic and creative energy is almost never seen in this day and age.
