  • This performance is the epitome of kick ass. It is remarkable. This level of artistic and creative energy is almost never seen in this day and age.

  • is there a way i could find this whole concert online/

  • He was a gift to the world. Simpily amazing!!!! Gone way too soon. R.I.P Stevie

  • What will you say to something like that? Great? That isent even close enough tu describe what kind of emotions songs like this transporte. Something... just like that.... is a gift from jeah from where? Its a gift from somthing thats higher than normal beeing, jeah he was just a human like all of us, but there was something inside him that is in all of us... that he had shown us through his guitar. Thank you Stevie, Thank you really not only for Music...Thank you for Inspiration!

  • Love this Video... chills also Stevie Ray, and Doyle Bramhall the greatest blues guitarists. Gone too soon :(

  • I wish to God I could have met Stevie and drank a beer with him! 1 beer Im saying is all I need.Ill be catching up with you Stevie, we gonna jam!!

  • Life without you is to SRV just as Little Wing was to Hendrix. Cool similarities: both songs end with the final words being the song title. Both songs also end with a bangin' solo for an outro and fades out...

  • no word to cover the feeling this tune produces!,, what a gift to the world!,, listen up people

  • cuz life without YOU! stevie rip brother

  • the last guitar hero... the world will end and no one will ever get close to what he meant to music.

  • There is a version of this song, live of In Step.... he pretty much does what he does at 3:25, but its much longer, and he just slams it against you. This song, and what he says in it is so true, that you actually need to be there for the ones who need you and love you the most. Thanks, Stevie. You just did such an awesome job saying it how it really needed to be said. Hearing these words..... how could you not agree with what he is saying here?

  • they gotta make a movie of his life. he deserves it

  • @durango112 Exactly, who would play Stevie though?

  • @chaosofscotty

Thats the thing, what is cool about these kinds of movies like I Walk the Line and Charles is that the actors actually sung and played their instruments. This gave these movies a really authentic feel to them. My only concern of a movie about SRV is how is the person playing him suppose to match his guitar playing prowess. its impossible. But i still feel like it would be a great movie, as in a lot of ways SRV's life is very similar to Ray Charles and Johnny Cash.

  • Just listening to all of his soul and his message and looking at these comments. It amazes me how one man with one message can bring forth so much loveand thankfullness. I wasn't alive when he died but I listen to his music everyday and I think his music and his person are just incredible. He is my hero i never met. RIP SRV. 1 of the greatest guitarists ever.

  • @crzydawg611 he IS the greatest guitar player ever

  • thanks Stevie Ray.

  • Greatest performance of anything...ever... in the history of forever!!

  • Greatest performance of anything...ever... in the history of forever!!

  • This is the single greatest, most emotional, heartfelt, soulful, and intense performance I have ever seen by any person at any time. And it is a video on youtube. Imagine being in that room...

  • "Life without you would be such a draggg..." and it is sometimes, Stevie, but we got to keep on keepin' don't we... love you, forever and always...

  • not many people can be known eternally by their initials...what will remain known forever....

    SRV

  • I am thankful that I am 'so' old to have been able to see SRV months before his death in Memphis... He changed my musical soul. I pay tribute to him every day. God love SRV.. Playing for him in heaven.

  • Along with Lenny, this is one of Stevie's most heart string-pulling songs. This is a great version.

  • Thank the Fallen Angel for GRIEF.I'm here for the fight.

  • Stevie's speech made me cry the first time i listened to it in each live version on here! what an amazing man, rip!!!

  • @chino9992 What's even more crazy...his guitar playing made me cry. that's how well he rings soul and emotion in those 6 strings.

  • srv the reason y i play

  • the angels have waited so long now take you place i believe stevie did

  • every now and then, God sends us a gift. SRV, was nothing short of perfect. you can have all the gear and even use the same guitar but you will never ever get the sound and vibe that Stevie poured out. . it is so unfortunate for us he can not be on this earth anynore to pour out his soul through that old six string. Music heals the soul, stevie"s music did this and comforted it also. a total embrace of emotion came out of every note. thank you for every gig you ever played Stevie.

  • Amen Stevie. Amen.

  • Life Without YOU is a Drag...

  • THANK YOU SRV!!!!

    RIP

  • thats one sweet guitar he's playing.. damn Stevie friday its been 20 years, i was 11 at the time, i can forget about being able to play like u cuz there is only 1 you, but i can do my best do be such a great guy like you were, funny but i kinda miss even though never met you, you're the greatest dude!! see u at the show up there together with phil lynnot and bon scott.. • whose the chick in 1:16 , im in love with her

  • @jonno63 dude respect stevie

  • @jonno63

I think that was Stevie's spouse, so show some respect. If it was, this was a hard fought golden moment in her life that all should appreciate and respect. So don't say stupid disrespectful shit.

  • @jrichardsphotography fuck off u ass hole

  • @jonno63

See what I am talking about. You let yourself degenerate to a very low level.

  • "make you run from love-because you can't stand how good it looks'. Been there and am grateful to God that He helped my out of that situation. He gives us so much and He gave it to SRV to proclaim it through this wonderful song. Run to to love people!

  • love love love this song

  • Truly inspirational.... for him to speak out against drugs and drinking and comeback afterwards and play this well. Much respect to the greatest guiartist of ALL time.

  • agreed with the chills....every time with this version when he does the solo after the speech

  • Amazing song/ video, Stevie was the greatest. . Thanks for everything you have done. RIP

  • the thing i love the most about this song is he plays it different every single time and its amazing every single time.

  • WHAT. A. PERFORMANCE.

I've listened to it maybe 30-40 times over the past three days or so when I found it lurking in my SRV compilation.

  • This is soo much more than just an awesome player, unbelivable. and it s titled life with out you.this is the best of the best of what man can create.

  • SRV is dead and douche bags like Kenny G will continue playing their crap for years to come...Life IS NOT fair!

    RIP Stevie

  • @TheBuilder65 - You're right. And don't forget the crop of today's crap...I mean "talent" we have to suffer through. RIP SRV...you are sorely missed.

  • @TheBuilder65 Only the great die young!! The days of original artists like Stevie are gone-but PAALease..don't ever again put him and that oboe playing SOB in the same sentence!! I know you meant well!! RIP-The Great!

  • probably the best Life without you performance hes done... and so effortless my goodness can this guy have gotten any better.

  • you said it stevie

  • Is there like a DVD for this or something like that?

  • My Lord!!!! Greatest thing I have ever seen!!

  • All I have to ask is WHY?Stevie was a spiritual guy that should of stayed a hell of alot longer here.

  • what kind of strat is that?

  • It's a 1962 Strat with a hardtail bridge. The pickgaurd is routed for 3 Danelectro Lipstick Pickups. Great sounding instrument. I'm building a SRV Strat right now. I am in the Relicing business. So, if you know anybody that wants a good relic job, just message me. PEACE

  • It was a custom made strat made by the guy who this song is dedicated, to his name is Charley Wirz
