Ok one thing i have to say is that "turn your render distance to Tiny" is terrible advice. Playing Minecraft on tiny is a waste of playing minecraft. I have problems with FPS too but i'd rather sit and laugh at my laptop and pretend it can feel the pain of lagging than play in tiny.

Really? Some processes are necessary yes but most can be done away with. For example: your anti-virus's active scanner this can be turned off temporarily this frees up a surprising amount of memory , many notification Icons down in the notification tray those take away from the amount of system resources available. Oh and by the way ending a process wont free up disk space but it will free RAM. I have my CompTIA A+ Certification.I know what I am talking about.

@fubbyquacker all you have to do is, (make sure you have minecraft running while you do this) right click on your desktop and make a new shortcut. When it asks to type in the name type in "taskmgr.exe" but without the ". After its created right click on the new shortcut you just made and go to "run as administrator. When task manager is open, try setting the priority on javaw and it should work just fine :))

THANK YOU! I've had the problem of Minecraft being slow for AGES! Strangely, reducing the graphics didn't help but sending more power to it changed SO MUCH. And strange enough, my performance improved after I put the graphics back to normal again, but I won't complain about that :D
