  • Wow. Really, really nice handstand.

  • Wow. Really, really nice handstand.

  • When I am trying to press to handstand,I can not lean forward enough so my shoulders are ahead of wrists,I can not do the lift. Since human wrists do not bend past 90deg,are you basically standing on balls of your fingers without the heels of the wrists touching floor ;)

  • I would have to see what you are doing to provide a proper comment.. Generally with handstands, you should think about stacking the hips, shoulders, and wrists, so they are in alignment.

  • Thanks Wendy,I think visualization is one of the most important factors.

  • Wendy, you make everything look so easy :). Tell me when you were learning to jump through, did you have the impression that your hands were too short.I am having problem to execute jump through. How do you estimate your core strength.Any tips on jumping through practice, please,

    Peace

  • Thank you for the kind words. I think the most helpful tip is to remember to look where you are going and keep your gaze focused as if you were sitting in dandasana. Also as you look to your destination, shift the shoulders slightly forward too. Hop the hips up first, then pull the legs through. It does take lots of core strength, so spending some time strengthening your core helps.

    Grace & Peace,

    Wendy
