RCCL ships all look the same, inside and out, same with Disney (will never sail on them, i dont need a headache with kids and disney) at least the interiors of carnivals are all different. carnival is so much better than RCCL
wow this will prob be carnivals biggest ship. i know royal caribbean is the biggest ship in the world.......lol...i might work on a cruise when im old her after collage=]
Comparision shopping will support my position. At this point it is impossible to tell one room in a Carnival ship from Costa. It's impossible to tell which room is which on a Holland America vessel. it is impossible to tell w/out looking on the bow which ship is which w/in Carnival's brands. Cheap? case in point, the plastic decks on the Icky were installed on a budget constraint not because baby poop brown plastic was a 1st choice. Why be original or invest above and beyond when you can be cheap
Look at Carnival's business plan, much like Walmart's. Why try something different, being original, raising the bar when what you've done for the past 20 yrs works over and over? Why not spread that plan out to other lines as well, make generic the success you've had w/minimal financial outlay to maintain individuality. The very element that made HAL and Cunard attractive for Mickey to buy has been watered down (Cunard is managed by Princess, designed and operated out of Santa Clarita CA!).
Ignorant, in my opinion, is buying hook line and sinker the PR put out by Carnival and thinking they or any of their division offer the very best experience. Carnival is successful w/in the confines of their business plan. But ignore the idea of reshaping the business, raising the bar or the cruise experience out of 1 reason only. It will cost too much to do so. Thankfully their competition isn't afraid to spend, give me Disney, Celebrity or even NCL before another Carnival Clone.
It's a Royal Caribbean stern...it's about time Mickey Arison let the moths out of Carnival's coffers and did something different (though I'm sure it was done as cheaply as possible). While nice to look at Carnival's-getting-it-done-on-the-cheap philosphy has taken the wind out of their once held leaders in the business.
I doubt the final product that will be the Dream will look any different from the dozens of other clones they have sailing.
Homeric...why are you such a lunatic. What happened. Did you stub your toe on a Carnival ship and didn't get a lifetime of free cruises? Something very odd happened to you. Carnival is the only cruise line making money...I guess their Walmart approach paid off...Royal is losing money this quarter. Yeah...a really big ship with lots of debt they can't even finance.
Another minion blinded by Carnival's definition of how business should be done. Successful repeatitive, predictable, yes. Original, bar raising offering something new, no. I have no problem with them making money but lets not call them what they are not. Hardly original or on any way exclusive, they define there own level of "luxury" and it isn't high. BTW..Disney,Celebrity,Azamarza,Louis, Oceania,Fred Olsen,Imperial Majesty,Crystal,MSC,are all non Carnival clone brands and ALL are making money.
i dont know why you waste your time about carnival they did nothing to you..yes their might be some things wrong with them but you dont need to try to bring carnival down by how they design their ships and everything eles...why dont u go get a freakin life mmk?!
Granted RCCL is carrying debt but I'll give them credit for rolling out more exciting designs and improvements in the cruise experience than Carnival ever has. Most of their competitiors have looked at ways to raise the bar and Canrival is simply too cheap to do so, why bother when you're as big as they are. An assembly line of ships, the same hulls, builders, designers, suppliers, cross over management with a different colored stack up top.
Old-fashioned design :o
