  • Michael Jackson's last concert in Indy as well as Elvis. I miss that place too.

  • The only way that The Fabulous Forum would EVER be imploded is over my dead body! Lakers Fans always will call that building "Home".

  • "Wait, isnt the plumber still in there"

    "No, he left this morning"

    "But that's his truck"

  • Wayne Gretzky played here as a member of the Indianapolis Racers

  • @hammerboys thats the building reggie miller worked most of his magic in.

  • Quite possibly one of the most EPIC implosions I've seen...

  • My Market Square Arena memories that I was a WWF Fan (or WWE Universe) when I was a kid.

I'll miss you, Market Square Arena... :'-(

  • Okay, great, now go clean that shit up.

  • Elvis has left the building

  • who played here?

  • Wow. Reminds me of the World Trade Centers going down.

    erm

  • Andre The Giant beat Hulk Hogan there to win WWF Championship, thanks to Ted DiBiase hiring a crooked referee.

  • my mom was an usher there...i got into a lot of games, concerts, circus shows, i even met jackie joyner kersee there...it was a memorial service 4 flojo and it was so sad...we would also watch the circle light up from there 2 since she would work at the games whenever the lighting ceremony was going on 2...memories...

  • Goodbye elvis

  • wow i remember going to watch this happen loudest thing i had ever heard but was sad as i had been to lots of events there as a kid and loved it now as an adult i never go to conseco and the few times i have been i did not like it.

  • My mom used to work in an office building next to the market, and catty-corner to msa. I remember going in to work with her on saturdays we would park in the same garage as the players, and when they had a game at night, we would see them getting out of their cars and chat for a second. I loved that arena... loudest building in the nba - one of the last true home court advantages

  • I think Wayne Gretzky played his first pro hockey game at Market Square when he signed with the Indianapolis Racers of the WHA in 77-78. He was just 17.

  • @vidlivs AND when he scored his first pro hockey goal there.

  • @vidlivs Yes he did. :)

  • A memorial place for Elvis fans is gone.. A sad day for all fans I think... :( ELV1S THE KING FOREVER !!!

  • This is sad.. actually brought a tear to my eye.. one of my greatest memories was staying there all night on the ramp waiting for the doors to open for Motley Crue =)

  • For over 10 years, I remember walking from the Bank One Building (now the Chase Tower) past the City Market to the Bank One parking garage. On rainy or snowy days, I would walk underneath MSA. It was strange to be able to drive under the arena - something we will never be able to do again. How many wonderful memories I have of concerts and basketball games. My parents took me to see Disney on Ice many times when I was younger. I will always have a special place for MSA in my heart.

  • still just a gravel area :/ i saw Rugrats Live there when i was a kid haha.

  • Yeah its a parking lot.

  • The one thing that I will always remember seeing that big Reggie Miller poster on the side of the arena before I watch the game

  • waste

  • what a neat perspective...

  • I remember watching this live that day:( I remember seeing Iron Maiden as my first concert back in '87' It's so sad to see her go but I remember those great times also. Watching many great Pacer games seeing greats like the Mailman delivering to the jumpman himself.

  • 0:19 HOLY CRAP

  • sad, it should have been left up for historical reasons...

  • Thank you very much..Thank you..

    Elvis has left the building.

  • makes me sad but sorta i am blown away sorry for the pun

  • Holy Shit!

  • It was a pretty silly design to make everyone go up to the seventh floor to get into the arena. Conseco is much better, but it took some getting used to at Conseco that you could actually just walk right into the building from street level. What a concept!

  • roflmfao! Was the arena really designed that way? LMFAO! Yea, that does sound crappy but that's not a reason to destroy the whole damn thing, just fix that problem

  • The arena itself was above Market Street, so no way to fix it without completely starting over.

  • I don't understand. What do you mean it was above a street?

  • what a waste of a camera

  • wtf! What happened to the Market Square Arena. Nooo! This was the final resting place of Mark Calaway's purple Undertaker gimmick at In Your House Buried Alive. Thanx a lot you indianapolis assholes. I wanted Taker to return their. Well hopefully he'll come to my state then

  • I met Marshall Faulk Here in the v.i.p. section he ordered 6 hot dogs, he must have been hungry! :)

  • I'm guessing right before The Consol Energy Center (the new arena) is finished.

  • I'm going to be sad when they do this to Mellon Arena in Pittsburgh.

  • and it made way for CONSUCKO feild house!

  • I saw Prince & The Revolution there on April Fools Day in 1985...

  • That place seemed so dark. Its almost like the Kingdome of arenas. It lasted just about as long as the Kingdome and it was very similar.

  • Oh yeah, when I was 12 my parents took me to see Peter Framptom live, my first concert. It took me a year or so to figure out why I kept smelling someone burning leaves.

  • I seen AC-DC 3 time's, Ted Nugent, Billy Squire, Triumph, Quite Riot, Robert Plant, Twisted Sister, Def Lepard, White Snake, Tesla, Ozzy twice, Styx twice, Journey, Motley Crue, Golden Earing, and Iam sure there are a few Iam forgetting. I used to live in Indianapolis, And I had a best friend that I still talk to this day. He and I would either buy tickets or crash the exit doors. We had alot of wild and exciting memories in MSA. May god rest its soul.

  • i have so many memories in msa. i miss it.

  • i was there for this. i miss the arena

  • The last place Elvis played and YES he left the building.

  • This is still just a vacant lot, isn't it? Its been a couple years since I was there but that's all I saw, just a gravel lot. Great use of real estate!

  • yeah thats whats there. it is good parking for the city county building.

  • Yep still just a gravel parking lot.If that was all it was going to become I don't understand why the City didn't just leave it for the historical value.Elvis played his last concert there. The Pacers were somewhat decent when they played in M.S.A. Good memories at least for me. Peace!

  • Bush Knew (tm).

    wait, wrong video...

  • Wow egoguitar thts a great point and could be a very good reason 4 wall street, wow great point, im w/u im a Phillies fan and miss da Vet so much, da only reason y it looked like shit, is b/c people treated like dat da last 2 years of tis existance. Just look up older pics of it from da 70s-90 it looked great. They had 2 scoreboards in the oufield and waterfalls near the fences and da replica liberty bell was hung in Center field near da fence were dat tarp area was which hung da banners.

  • and now rca is gone :(

  • Damn, I didnt know they already got rid of the old Hoosier Dome!! Do you know when they imploded market square, I didnt even know they had a new arena, or does the new arena have same name. Im Not from Indiana thats why im a lil clueless on this one, thanks

  • they havnt got rid of the RCA dome yet, but they are going to :( im only 13 but i remember when market square was imploded. it was back in 00' i think. they new STADIUM is called Lucas Oil Stadium. its really cool.

  • Lucas oil stadium is the new home of the colts... RCA dome will be imploded Dec. 20th 2008, Market square was home of the pacers which was imploded on july 8th 2001 and conseco fieldhouse is the new home of the pacers

  • The new place is caalled conseco feildhouse. and the rca dome got blowed up today Dec, 20, 08 around 9:30 A.M.

  • the same demo team destroyed this and the rca dome

  • :'(

  • no, its more than just that. its mainly greed that screwed up wall street.

  • what a weird old building

  • Yes, it is sad to see historical landmarks get destroyed like that.

It is also sad to say that it'd necessary. Did you know that concrete armed concrete buildings only have the lifespan of 1 century?

One century is a lot for us but for a building, it's very little (think of the constructions our ancestors left us).

  • yea, and the stupid thing is the lot is still empty.

  • woah it is? i havent noticed it when ive been downtown where exactly is it?

  • i liked the roof on it

looked like the kingdome but much better

  • I always thought it looked like Darth Vader's helmet. When they imploded this old great building, I honestly felt like going downtown Indy and placing roses on the spot.
