  • rained for thousands of years? 0_o water from space? 0_o

  • Who calls it the blue planet? Neptune is also blue.

  • It rained for thousands of years? Sounds a lot like England

  • This is mentioned in the Quran 1400 years ago... Too late for you to discover it..

    (Quran 79 30-31):

And after that He spread the earth. He extracted from it its water and its pasture.

  • @MrS0o0N Why are you quoting the Koran? That is one of the worst places one can find any truth about the universe.

  • @ManDudeYeah Nope, the Quran is the best place. Instead of your hatred toward him and ignorance, read it yourself.

  • @MrS0o0N Fine. Read your fairy tale, beat your women and kill people for petty reasons. Religion is poison. Furthermore, the Quran is a dangerous book written by dirty bastards thousands of years ago.

"Hatred toward him..." Who's him? Allah? He doesn't exist, MrS0o0n. I don't hate things that aren't real.

  • @ManDudeYeah Fairy tale? first, give me the verse number, secondly, im ready to prove to you that God exist from the Quran. You don't believe in god cause of the bible. and non muslim people tells you such verses about the Quran to not let you know the truth. Thanks for being respectful by the way......

  • @MrS0o0N Actually, I think every religion is stupid. The reason I think that is simply because.... well, every religion is just stupid. By the way, you cannot prove god. If you could you'd be an incredible scientist, but you aren't. You're a smelly muslim. I can't wait for you to issue my first death threat, oh boy!

  • @ManDudeYeah smelly muslim? How a nice way... Again, I can prove. But I'll not prove to an ignorant person like you. Check my video: For the Atheists. Listen, people like you will never listen or try to know the truth. Stay blind like you are till a day comes. Trust me you'll know the truth, but that time, there will be no chance to bring time back. Reply as you want. I'll not reply. Your way of talking made me not want to.

  • @ManDudeYeah then can you prove there is NO god??? can you?? then you think who created the universe with the stars, sun, planets hang above the sky....human did that???

  • @CMaihara I hate resorting to ad hominem attacks, but that comment is unspeakably ignorant. Do you really think secularist/scientists think that stars are made by people? You can't be serious. I can't prove god, but that doesn't save the idea. If I say there is a teapot orbiting Jupiter would you believe me? We can't prove either way, but it sure is a stupid idea. The idea of god is a primitive one indeed. Who created your god anyway?

  • @ManDudeYeah as an atheist who doesn't believe in god always ask where is god and who created god.. yes i know y u didn't believe in god bcoz u can't see Him right..? let say u speak on phone, u cant see people u r talking with..but u believe there is someone talking to you and there is a people there unless u speak alone and u insane.. now u believe in something that u cant see directly..so why cant u believe there is God even u can't see.

  • @ManDudeYeah btw, about ur question Who created your god anyway?, who create our god?.. in my religion Quran said " He (God) begets not, nor is He begotten"... so no one created god...if someone created god, then that "someone" is more powerful than god so we should worship "someone"..but then who created someone?? the question will be never ending question..so the true answer He (God) begets not, nor is He begotten...so what is your comment?

  • @CMaihara God isn't real. Neither are leprechauns or unicorns. The only truth we simple humans can obtain is through the scientific method. Religion (even your silly-ass, crazy religion) is arrogant in thinking that you all know the truth. You don't and neither do I. Wake up and realize that religion (all of them) is the worst invention mankind has ever dreamed up.

  • @ManDudeYeah then can scientific method make dead people live again...stop tsunamis n all the suffering in the world...create a perfect clone of human...never right...just think deeply who's behind all of these...the very first one who made up all of these and for what.. u think u are just scientifically lived in this world..our belief is so much different, don't disrespect others' belief, even atheism is a religion which created by atheists.. peace V

  • @CMaihara I can only agree with one world. Peace. Science is the only tool for understanding.

  • @ManDudeYeah yes I'm agree...science is the only tool for understanding, to make our believe to god stronger( as for me)... :) just look to the nice scenery around us and think there is god or not..maybe you'll find your answer there.. all the best

  • I.like the red lightning :D

  • Don't get it why we're not still hit by comets if space is supposedly strewn with the giant buggars.

  • @smurfieboo Earth is hit everyday by thousands of meteorites everyday.

  • wtf is this accent anyway???

  • sooo water is from space

    water gets filtered

    i drink the water

    so...

conclusion I AM DRINKING ALIEN WATER O-O

  • I hate high waves...specially tsunamis...

  • And such a creator I believe in exists outside of the realm of human understanding in His entirety. That shouldn't be hard to understand. But no, many atheists want to see God physically face to face and they question, "why this, why that." Get over yourselves because you'll never figure it out as long as your alive, and that's a definite fact. But who knows, if such a person exists and figures out EVERYTHING that they question, then heck, you'll be famous. Let me know when that happens.

  • @hiphoppacmotion You seriously believe that?

    omg

    Get an education.

There is one thing, that should make you think:

Why is it, that the less educated, the less intelligent you are, the more likely you are to believe in stuff like gods and other crazy shit like aliens with anal probes and talking to the dead.....

Check the stats, that´s what reality tells you about believing stuff...

"definite fact" my ass, you don´t even know what constitutes a fact, do you?

  • @martialme84 ahhhh well your inconsequential reply was not the slightest entertaining. First off, you don't even know me. "Get an education".....hmm ok ya I don't think i need to tell you which university I'm attending. Second, yes it is "fact" that no one can prove that God neither exists or does not exist. Wow that shouldn't be hard to understand. That's why I said there was such a thing called faith.

  • @hiphoppacmotion u gotta loove the religious, they are CUTE!

How ´d the moon get here!?

    You pinheads can´t explain that!

Tide comes in, tide goes out. Never a misscommunication, you can´t explain that to me, can you!?

    ;)

Ahh, no matter how dumb i am, i still know that there are people BY THE SCORE who are dumber than me, take any place of worship, any one...

Makes me kinda satisfyingly condescending. Much alike to dealing with very small children...^^

  • I believe in Creation, not evolution. And people may question naively, "Well, where did such a deity/being/God come from, or did He just magically appear." Well, there are some things humans WILL NEVER be able to understand as long as life exists. So all I gotta say is just deal and fyi there is such a thing called faith.

Fyi even if evolution does occur to some extent, that's fine. However, how did evolution exist in the first place. What was the VERY 1st thing that began evolution... heh

  • @hiphoppacmotion LAWL!!!!!! :D ;D

Oh, that is something that i wouldn´t openly admit.... It´s like saying "sometimes i manage to go to the potty alone already!!!" It´s okay, while you´re a toddler, in any other case...not.

Thanks for the chuckle though, much apprecciated!

  • @martialme84 In any case, we could go on for hours bickering back and forth, which i'm not willing to do (because, well quite frankly, your boring and our little petty comments towards each other could go on forever). But I should mention that you ACTUALLY took the time to reply back to me (LOL. thanks for wasting your time on me. I could care less ;) Our little conversation is over ;D

  • @hiphoppacmotion :D Well, since i indeed found your replies back to me very (bear with me while i give in to the urge to repeat this once more, VERY entertaining (oh the irony!)) i can not consid3r my time wasted...

Your quite inspiring attempt at appearing educated alone! :D (get your grammar straightened out at this "university" of yours ok?)

Thank you very much for taking the time to cheer me up. (I´m currently sick at home and unable to go to work, so you´re very much appreciated!)

    cont.

  • @hiphoppacmotion Yes, you should definitely mention that i ACTUALLY took the time to reply back to you.

Good thing, you yourself didn´t reply to my "inconsequential reply" isn´t it? :D

(You know that there is such a term as "self-pwnage", don´t you? If not, ask your frie... ahh no, sorry to...

just google it, mhkay? ;) )

"Sky-dAAddy luvs me dearly do...I dn´t beleef in what modern science tell cuz zey tell diffrnt than ze bible

na i go uniwersity i doooo blblbl i smurt in headz!!!"

    ;D

  • @hiphoppacmotion . The Point Horizon Event! Get a degree in something other than solipsism... pleeeease!

  • I'm not buying the outer space deal

  • that guy maybe from russia, china, india or korea

  • then where did air come from?

you cant have steam without air, and you cant have an atmosphere without air molecules....this is suspicious

  • Steam from volcanos? So, half of the water comes from inside the Earth? But how was it formed?

  • Got it from a site. So here's your answer..

When the earth coalesced out of the

primordial gas cloud that surrounded the young sun, hydrogen and oxygen were two of the chemical elements incorporated in the earth. Oxygen and hydrogen are chemically quite reactive, and so they both combined with various other elements to form chemical compounds. One of these compounds is water.

  • @RyuStriders OK thanks, it makes sense! I always wonder...where all this matter comes from, and why it happened to be like it is. I mean...why the "hydrogen", how the atoms formed that element and not another. And why the atoms!?

Hehehe I feel like a baby.

  • @skellez83 you cant have steam with out air...this vid is bullshit

  • @skellez83 core heat = energy, energy + hydrogen + oxygen = water . every element was sufficent when earth was formed.

  • @skellez83 Hydrogen molecules combined with oxygen molecules within the earth

  • Steam from volcanos? So, the water comes from inside the Earth? mmmmm

  • @ Katya87h1 Do you believe in the theory of gravity?

  • wow, not buying into that theory...hint theory...not proven...

  • herr ro ween!

  • i love his Scottish burrrrrrrrrrr.

  • I luv a good story

  • this is just a pile of theory bullshit...We can really never tell...

  • @potpolima yeah...but its make sense

  • The question is, why man didn`t create it all ? Why we have assume & wait for time?& who was before us ?.Amen

  • Wonderful !

  • Why are geology related vids from the BBC always spoken from a scotsman?

  • @ManDudeYeah Because scots are british?

  • @samuriguy909 Was that a question? I was just asking why they are always scottish rather than Irish or English. It's just an observation I've made.

  • @ManDudeYeah It was a statement said in a sarcastic question form.

  • Awesome video... very annoying accent

  • Hydrogen is the most plentiful element in the universe; oxygen is number 3 or 4; it is cooked in massive stars which eventually go supernova, scattering their contents across the galaxy. The sun is a generation 3 or 4 star, so there was enough available to make lots of water throughout the cloud the sun, plants, comets and asteroids were being created from. Algae released oxygen from water and CO2, just as plants do today. There is water in nearly all rock, released only under extreme heat.

  • the ingredients to create water was there? steam? the rest from comets? is there oxygen on comets? no, I dont think so. Comets may have delivered more liquid hydrogen into a liquid hydrogen ocean but it couldn't have been water till after algae created oxygen. without the oxygen how could it have been water( H2O)? other NatGeo videos say algae created oxygen

  • Holy shit, the scotish scared me.

  • check out my videos!

  • everything is a chemical mixture. nature thats the clue to understand the beggining of the earth even the universe. and how everything is ment to be.

  • oh my gosh thats so pathetic

obviously we didnt just get random water from rocks and just have it chance that we live on a perfectly made planet

i mean its so so obvious God made it

  • I hope you're being sarcastic. The reason life(both animal and plant)were able to form and flourish is BECAUSE of water. The comets contained water and in Earth's early history it was bombarded with these massive rocks, in addition to the clouds which naturally produce precipitation. No fucking mystical, magical deity taking a piss or waving his hands causes a summer downpour. Free your mind of such fictional BS and get with the 21st century.

  • sorry dude but there wasnt water in a rock, God made water

  • Okay, "God" created water? Let's see some proof! Science gives enough evidence to say otherwise. Heck, it's in the video. Now, where's your evidence? And, don't reference any ancient books written by the J.K. Rowlings of the Iron Age A.K.A. The Bible. I'm waiting.

  • u rlly believe that we came from monkeys and water came out of a rock?

  • Just like religion, science takes faith. I can't really believe we came from Dust randomly that was made by a supernatural being who has yet to show himself if he does so happen to exists. But, you have faith in that, while as I, have faith in science.

  • They need to require more science credits to earn a degree. Anyone who comes out of college without believing in and having a solid understanding of the big bang and evolution hasn’t learned squat. Yeah, you may know about business or what have you, but you know nothing about the world we live in. God created the universe in an instant via the big bang; it's been expanding and evolving ever since. Don't let your preacher convince you learning about the greatest questions in the universe is wrong

  • @drewsky684 ok that actually was kind of like idk but not he usual "thats so stupid theres no God" stuff but i mean in a was God could have made the big bang,i mean like when he made the earth there could have been an explosion? idk? but all i know rlly is that there wasnt nothing, and explosion,a perfect ecosystem, and people

  • @OnefourthAsianguy So what caused the Big Bang? Your God Science that you worshop tells us that before the big bang there was nothing. So how exactly did nothing go bang? And where is your evidence to suggest that absolutely nothing can explode and create absolutely everything?

  • @metalmorgan Science can test and explain the properties of the universe as it is today and only make thories about the rest. The physical properties of the universe at the time of Big Bang were diferent. Even with today's technology there is no way to make a lab experiment to truly know how matter, time, and forces like gravity and electromagnetism worked back then. Unless you can find a way to put the whole universe back in one place. Oh wait! maybe some "god" can.

  • @diegoabruno Thank you. That is exactly my point.

  • @metalmorgan To be honest, you can't know, you'll never know or understand. It is impossible in our minds that nothing can exist. God had to be made by something, but what is that something? Nothing?

  • @metalmorgan: And so, if I cannot explain immediately that your understanding is wrong, or for my own part the exact mechanism, then it must be that god did it? What if I can produce that explanation and the evidence to back it up in, say, a hundred years from now? Does that change what happened in the past? A thousand years ago god guided the birds in the air; now we know they fly, and how exactly they do it. What was the real reason a thousand years ago? Did they just quietly take over?

  • @puncheex No, not at all. But the beleif of evolution is based on an un-proven hypothesis, yet is widely regarded as fact. You are saying that proof is needed to prove something correct. Yet you have no proof. So on what basis do you support the theory of evolution? Becuase the basis cannot be factual. So you are in reality putting faith in something un-proven, the very thing that creationists are accused of.

  • @metalmorgan: Wrong. The ToE depends on no "hypothesis" that I'm aware of; it stands on it's own with the evidence that has been found in the last 150 years, which is voluminous. The basis is both experimental and observational. It comes from the fields of zoology, botany, micro- and molecular biology, systematics, genetics, paleontology, evo-devo and geology. I can cite papers out your ears, but you must be insisting that the Bible trumps all to get your conclusion. However...

  • I have the feeling that you don't mean the ToE when you say evolution, you mean the Big Bang. I know enough about it to believe that the theory will have substantial explanatory power within the next 50 years of research, hence what I said above. It already is far above any competition within science (like Hoyle/Gold's steady state). So, I see no reason to have to admit to a supernatural cause; in fact, I think that eventually there will be no unexplained phenomena that will require such.

  • @puncheex Go ahead, cite papers. What experimental basis exactly? Why are assuming that I'm using the Bible as a basis for this argument? Don't start making assumtions now puncheex.

  • @metalmorgan: Make an argument, Mr. Morgan, if you have one.

  • @metalmorgan Did you even watch the video. It wasn't nothing to go "Big Bang" it was apparently a molten rock.

Which burst open and created steam which created cloud cover which created water. So in saying that it makes more sense than it did before when it just a "Big Bang:"

  • Have you heard of probability? There is really low chances for this to happen, but out of the millions of planets, don't you think you'll get the near-perfect planet? Think of it like this, you roll a die 100 times, you think you're going to get a 6?

  • well where do u think the plantes came from?

  • Where did god come from? you say "He's always been here." then I say "Well then, the planets have always been here"

  • so u just think tha planets were just there?

  • Why not, your God was just there.

  • @0rgans I like your style.

  • @WakeMyBow

Why don't you think a meteor can have water in it? They just spent billions smashing a probe into one to make sure their observations were correct.

  • ooo, thx for the link.

  • actually meteors have no water comets do

  • not meteors comets comets are mainly made of ice, rocks, dust they approached earth, earth miraculously pulled in the comet

  • @WakeMyBow Well, the difference between and the scientists is you're just an idiot talking without any evidence at all, whereas they have to do calculations and check against historical records - not your silly stone-age stories, but actual rocks.

  • thousands of yers worth of rain huh? it would be nice

  • So if theres comets with water... why don't we try to get life on them instead of the moon?

  • Living on a comet would be 99% like living on an airless Antarctica, punctuated every so often by extreme, explosive heating (still airless). Very hazardous. At least the moon maintains the same rhythm for very long periods of time.

  • @puncheex Didn't you just reply to one of my comments?

  • I could have. I pay more attention to the content than to who writes them.

  • @puncheex Ok well thanks for the info anyway XD

  • LOL @ THE NARRATORS VOICE... no really a usually narrators voice @_@

  • narrater annoying much? :P

  • @MrAerobot The narrator should yell "FREEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!"

  • Comets brought half of the water on Earth?!??? WTF?

    Can you say "Junk Science"?

  • Sure, you can say it, but that doesn't make it so. There is more water on Earth than can be accounted for by volcanic out-gassing, the only other source that I know of. So, either it is an enormous freak accident in pulling the planet together at the beginning, or the water had to be shipped in from elsewhere. This is a fairly well accepted theory in paleogeology.

  • The oceans ability to support many life forms is endangered. They have absorbed about half the carbon that our burning of fossil fuels has emitted. As a result their acidity levels are rising; bad news in many respects. Read about the negative affects and the consequences.

  • @Eschatus2 yerrrrr ohhhhhhrrrr righhhtttttttrrrr serrrrrr

  • @Eschatus2 holy shit and i thought he was speaking a whole different language

  • I have to say something to all of the annoying religious spammers: Stfu and plus, there is no hardcore evidence that go actually exsists. But, I believe in God anyway but I do NOT believe that God brang all of the water to this planet. Plus, science sorta is actually easier to believe then God because it actually has hardcore evidence. So STFU! Btw, this vid is awesome!

  • lol, sounds like a down under accent to me, not British.

  • brittish??? i think its scottish

  • did anyone witness the creation of the earth?

    i hate theories....

  • I love the narrator's accent. lol

  • british accent is the best!

  • for real? shouldn't the heat produced during the comet's collision melt the ice already turning it into gas/steam into outer space? or was the ice so large and the heat was not enough to melt all of it and still supplied half earth's water?

  • There is nothing to heat a comet in space until it gets close to the sun, or in just the last few seconds before it strikes a planet. If it does turn to steam in the atmosphere, that's still ours, since it will fall as rain a little later. Once it is in the Earth's gravity well, it will not escape.

  • amazing

  • lol creationist 'science' close minded as always

  • Whats close-minded is the evolutionists that run the educational system that ONLY want evolution to be taught as fact.

    ..thats close-mindedness

  • lol

come back when you have peer-reviewed scrutinized evidence backing up your coo-coo-for-co-co-puffs

  • I don't think the comedians at the Comedy Store in N.Y. have nothing to fear when it comes to your comedic aspirations.

  • whoo, am i relieved! Thanks fo` da compliment! I similarly think scientists have nothing to worry about your hyper-religious propaganda gaining any traction outside of your dense cult of brotherhood

    Ciao!

  • people who belive in god r stupid

when ever theres something gonna happen all they do is sit n pray

well wake up people science created everything

god didnt create us dna mutation did

  • people who dont believe in god are the most dumbest creature on earth..

how do u expect that the universe create itself and scientist also agreed that the universe isnt always exist!! look at our solar system , the earth.. all of it were made perfectly!! if there are some dumb energy who that u said nature create us all why it would become so perfect?? from what i learn, the dumb energy such as tornado only destroys us all and nothing good comes from it. there must be god who create us all.

  • nope people who believe in god r craizy they love to judge poeple who dont believe in god thats what started the war...religion

  • @Stephano31

Gen 2:5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and [there was] not a man to till the ground.

Gen 2:6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

just like the scottish gentleman said!

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Stephano31: you said..

....god didn't create us dna mutation did.

    Where did DNA come from?

  • @Stephano31 Actually chemistry created everything, science just explain them

  • surely if the oceans have been here for 4 billion years, with erosion and everything, surely there would be nothing left except sand.....lots and lots of sand

  • Ah, but there are also Earth building events - mainly volcanic or tectonic in nature. Mountains are pushed up, then wear down, and so on. Sand gets subsumed, melted and goes back into solid rick eventually. Nothing on the surface is forever.

  • LMAO HIS ACCENT!

  • Pure theory and imagination. Nat Geo would lie just to boost it's ratings. Is Nat Geo been there when the waters form? NO ONE KNOWS that's it! Just leave it that.

  • Can't. Some people just have to know. Have you no curiosity about the place you live in?

Sure NG wants to boost its ratings. That doesn't necessarily mean it lies. After all, why should lies necessarily boost their ratings? Most people, seems to me, actually want the truth.

  • nice and useful documentary..but that guy has so bad accent ...even i got better and im slovak xD

  • Hysterical! So why aren't comets still smashing into the Earth & making more water since supposedly that's what they did. Why? Because it NEVER happened to begin with. I have a better theory: the seven little water fairies from the planet Aquamarina were chased away by the evil sea witch, Aguanita, and took refuge on Earth, but the heavy gravity of Earth caused the water fairies to melt into a torential flood, becoming our seven seas. LOL!

  • uh, during the formative phase of the solar system there was exponentially more cosmic debris which could run in to the Earth. It is totally reasonable that it would have accumulated its liquid water via cosmic interactions..... plus, you have to realize that 4.5 billion years is a LONG fucking time, so that is a lot of opportunity to get hit by space-ice

  • 4.5 billion years? LOL! And you believe everything that is spoon-fed to you? LOL!

  • and you don't? Oh right, i forgot, you speak ancient aramaic, syriac, hebrew, latin, etc., and can verify the bible independently on your own... and you didn't learn those languages from someone else, because they could have corrupted you in the same way that my conspiratorial professors have corrupted me

  • Nope. And I don't even endorse the conventional Creationists' view; it too is in error, also due to misinterpretation of the data leading to misconjecture. I do my own research, independent of prevailing and popular paradigm worldviews (both the Uniformitarian/Evolutionary Model & Creationism Model), which reveals a completely different reality.

  • and what would this newly discovered world paradigm be?

  • The evidence has been all around us, but people's mindset prevents them from seeing it. I examined the myhtological records & figured out this is a cryptic & symbolic language documenting cosmocataclysms & the causative agents responsible which are 3 primary stars, the "Sirian Trichotomy" of Sirius B, A & C (technically our Sun) that were "personified" into deities & their great exploits. Hence, the Sirius Binary is the missing half of our Solar System. Once this is known the rest is simple.

  • Well, let me just say that your interpretation is not surprisingly different from others who insist on interpreting mythology and such for reasons for "why we are here". They are generally classed as crackpots.

  • Speak for yourself.

  • i agree...maybe in some time we will get hit from some comet like bilion years ago..it's not impossible but human kind is very very very young on Earth so thats why we never been hit by comet in our era..yet!!

  • Because Earth was bigger and attracted more gravity. Now it's smaller.

  • You know in the past during the time of young Earth the atmosphere which protected us from comets and asteroids and other space derbis had not formed yet, so it would be obvious that it could end up being hit by all of that space derbis.

  • THis whole thing is a shit...yet no one can explain who came first.

    "CHICKEN OR THE EGG".

  • the dinosaur egg lol

  • Chicken

  • This video is bs! Why doesn't the other plants like Venus have any water then? Comets this comets that! Science says a comet hit Mercury & give it an iron core. The rest of its core just went away. Comets gave earth water but not Venus. Comets created the giant mares on the moon that only exist on the earth side of the moon. A comet knocked the gas giant Uranus over. If they can't explain something, comets did it! That is NOT Science.

Oh & Religion sucks! Science is a religion too.

  • Wow people, we have a genius here! You deserve a smiley face sticker! Now, where did I put them...

  • I am a genius. Ironic it takes a genius to know one.

  • Apparently, the concept of sarcasm is unfamiliar to you.

  • Owned by Spicychick. Lol

  • Spicychickenwing.. what an stupid screen name. Obviously a omnivorous person. He didn't own me I just didn't reply to his last comment because it didn't seem relevant to me. I know he was calling me dumb when he used the word "genius". I was stating that I AM a genius anyway.

He doesn't know about the Scientific dating evidence that proves the oceans were built at the rifts millions of years after the existence of the continental plates. Water comes from abundant hydrogen & Oxygen NOT comets.

  • To WavePsychic

    Scientist worships comets

  • Science is not religion due to the fact there is actually hardcore evidence to support it. Plus, Mercury and Venus would have been too hot to have water anyway!
