@justdar Indeed, freshly-squeezed juice is such a 'must'. The same goes for good orange liqueur. Nothing can ruin a drink faster and more brutally than cheap triple sec.

@mojitoevents shaken cocktails, unlike stirred cocktails come out very cold (the shaking melts more ice into the drink) so you don't have to chill the glass for them.

@deathxe5 Many bartenders (myself included) choose not to start drinks in a pint glass with ice already in it. Pouring it over ice melts the ice more than it needs to be, and gets you a better drink in the end (in my humble opinion).
