@reptongeek Galvatron's cannon is more powerful when he's in cannon mode. It inflicts damage in that mode than when he's in robot mode.

when you think about it... when Unicron existed, Galvatron absorbed power from him (according to the character bio) and was virtually indestructible. Either Galvatron holds back a portion of his power or the producers wanted to keep as many Decepticons around. Seriously, would Galvaton want Swindle as his second in command?
