And still no coolers on the VRMs on the Palit card... this caused some outrage with their GTX 460, which also didn't have any. Only the cards sent to reviewers had them. As expected, the card fared well in tests but disappointed when normal consumers installed it.
This "longer lasting military components" is just a marketing ploy. Hardcore gamers replace their cards about every year or two, long before the card actually starts having mechanical problems. It is advantegous for OCing though.
@dioni81 I've had the MSI version since early July 2011, and I absolutely love it - just watch the version of driver you use - download the latest drivers from MSI instead of using the one that it ships with - it's flaky.
@jogonexon one of my fans broke down and its not even half a year old. Otherwise its a steal, allmost as cheap as the reference and my card runs 1000mhz core and 2250 memory 24/7
@jogonexon "military components" bought into marketing BS eh ;). The cooler is nice, but the reference is good enough even for a decent OC on there, I would sooner get myself an Evga, like I do, and have better warranty and support. MSI are decent, but for the same price, I would take Evga or Zotac first
man I wanted to get the gigabite soc version of the 560 ti but seeing your comparison chart the 6950 1g is faster :( am I right.. so that means a 6950 xxx will blow it out the water:( I have a 22 in mon and like the way nvidia makes there graphics can you give me your perspective pcper. the gigbate clocks in a 950mhz
What i would say is dont buy Nvidia. They either dont work out the box, or they break down within a year. Plus they are way overpriced for what they are. Buy an ATi Radeon. Best cards on the market. I cant really give you a specific card as I dont know your budget. But as I said, make sure its an ATi Redeon. Not Nvidia
@haloking890 ignore him, don't be brand loyal, do your own research, and compare benchamrks, size, cooling, core clocks, vram, and benchmarks to find the right GPU for your needs.
@MrDeano324 I was looking at the ATi Radeon 5870.... then I noticed this card, which I can find for around 15% cheaper and it competes with the cards an entire series above the 5870 (6870).
I don't really see why I should buy a radeon when there's a better card that has less power consumption for cheaper.
@SumoNinja1985 i dont think theres a Direct CU2 version of the 560's its just the 570 and the 580 of the nvidia cards that are having the direct CU 2 versions
@SumoNinja1985 i have one of those and its AWESOME i overclocked it to have similar performance to a GTX 570 (only a bit slower). how do i know gtx 570 well i have one of those too but i have the 560 in my second pc although i have also overclocked my 570 which makes it faster still lol.
twin frozr II is the best one next to the Asus DCII .. i am getting twin frozr II because you can just overclock it without needing a slow software application that asus brings, which is the only way you can overclock. MSI it is.
@vybzshakur if you are only going to use one card, you should buy the msi twin frozr II or the Asus DCII , both 249 but the only way to Overclock asus is to use the very slow software they include that freezes up my computer, MSI's heatsink cooler is just as good as the ASUS but the overclocking ability is what makes MSI win... i am going to newegg right now
@blink180heights umm i overclocked my asus DCII 560 ti using msi afterburner. all i did was i didnt install the drivers off the cd rather i went to nvidia's website and got them. more up to date and no asus crap :)
Supposedly, the newest 11.1a amd drivers improve metro 4xmsaa performance on the 6800 cards by ~30%. That would probably alter some of the charts, if true.
@pcper is that why the 6950 benchmark results are a tad higher than the ones i've seen in other reviews? For example, in bad company, the 560 often beats out the 6950 on other website reviews.
@pcper hey my monitor display is 2560x1600 resolution and i just want a card that has dual dvi and it will run fine and support my monitor resolution.... i am not a gamer ,i just want a fast computer
@GiantsFly the 560 ti will probably be overkill if ur not gaming. id suggest a 6850 or gtx 460 if u can still get one just make sure its the 1gb version
good review and ty. lot of info on hardware parts themselves out there, but not much on what manufacturers to buy from.

@hecjr82 6950 is also more expensive, louder, and runs hotter. I'm talking compared to a MSI Twin Frozr 560ti.
