  • So, the story that we saw in this particular video got put into the TRON: Evolution game and a new story was written and shot for the movie...

    Basically.

  • he looks way better w/o the beard

  • @RosannasMom he looks way younger without the beard.

  • Jeff looks like a raging alcoholic.

  • Hmph, looks more like a scene from a video game sequel.

  • Funny how that footage they show was never actually used. I'm glad, 'cause it looks pretty weak compared to the final movie.

  • oooooo so this was the second movie. I thought it was a remake of the first.

  • they shoould now make a remake of the 1st tron, !

  • This looks more fake than the original! Never compare to the old school flicks !

  • @LALOMAN18 more fake? a CGI setting that is more fake then cgi 20 years back. wut???? technological progress I see.

  • @LALOMAN18 it's all fake dude

  • I'm so used to seeing Jeff Bridges with a beard that it's weird seeing him without one now.

  • awesome movie

  • I LOVE NEW TRON :)

    watch?v=NqFgKlGQiM4

  • Where's the clip from with the blue and green bike? Not the Legacy or original Tron film?

  • wATCH cUBE dESTINATION

  • Jeff is right, those 2 actors (Wilde & Hedlund) weren't even born when the original was released

  • JUST SAW TRON LEGACY TONIGHT. I LOVED IT!

  • @rosrychaplet i agree.. was amazing movie!!!!!! i'd buy it and buy a 3D tv JUST for this movie!!!! love it love it loveit!!!

  • thats the way they going to make arnold look younger for the next terminatore!

  • @pulsare21 They already did that in Salvation, I thought

  • @TerrorBlack yes but not the same, in salvation they use a body double for the physic of Arnold and digitally put his face on the body on Tron they use Jeff Bridges real body and face while acting then they make his face look 30 years younger. its the first time they use that technology in a movie.

  • @pulsare21 You mean, except for when they did it with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan in X-Men 3?

  • @TerrorBlack yes true but they saying its the first time they use this teck so i don't know?

  • Jeff Bridges is fantastic in this movie. He's a legend.

  • Ok, I know it's only a PG, but it's a far cry from the essence of "Disney Magic". And I love it =)

  • It sickens me that people can criticise the Tron movies. Apparently they like depth + a good story line. Not really. And also: They're DISNEY FILMS. It's ok for the shite Disney films of the 1980s directed at kids, but Tron seemingly isn't good enough for the critics.

Personally I love it. I love the fact that as a product of the company that brought us fairytales in film, you get a darker, more adult movie - especially with the 1st.

  • I still like the original better so far

  • @1980MF1980 I'm with you on that. The first one took me to a place I'd never been before. T2 was predictably modernized.

  • that just the teaser trailer not the real one

  • none of this was in the movie WTF?

  • jeff bridges vs jeff bridges on a bridge

  • @puaproxy this is the best comment on youtube!!!! you are a great guy , dude°!!!!!

  • @puaproxy lmfao

  • @puaproxy kinda ironical isn't it? :p

  • @Neimingjoesh Ironical isn't a word

  • @puaproxy lmao

  • I'm so glad Jeff Bridges came back for the sequel!! Especially with so much time being between the two films

  • Olivia Wilde sure looks happy to be there......

  • you reckon this would've been better without the homeless guy beard?

  • After seeing the movie with my son, and playing the video game, I am completely obsessed with this story. I had always obsessed over the original movie when I was a kid especially getting into computers at an early age. This movie just brought every thing back and intensified it....Thankyou Disney

  • Related video : Texas mother decapitated infant son.

What the fuck youtube. Seriously, what the fuck?

  • @moonasha right!? shit's bananas

  • JEF BRIDGES!

  • JEFF BRIDGES!!!!

  • @NightShadow2013 Tobuscus FTW!!!!

  • @XxLapu Hell Yea!! Tobuscus=Epicness!!

  • Tron video game at the 1st half of the 80´s was amazing!!!!

  • I cannot they started this more than one year ago and already had a cast damn

  • the green g guy didnt appear in the movie, why?

  • @SPBTsnyder that whole scene was just a test and a lure to attract ppl

  • dude my fucking uncle talks and looks exactly like Jeff Bridges, only bald. and my uncles name is, yup you guessed it. Jeff

  • @iskateIB1 really? I guess robert

  • @DawgTycoon I guessed Jeff

  • @iskateIB1 Then your uncle is awesome, man, and hot too.. :P

  • At 61 Jeff Bridges is still going strong!

  • Tron doesn't actually hold the record for longest time between original and sequel. One word for you; Bambi.

  • jeff bridges..... sorry

  • none of the previews were in the movie. mine you this was added a whole year and a half ago. They probably completely rewrote the script

  • @okicu Yea when i saw these trailers i was thinking that to

  • @okicu No, the scenes used in the preview were filmed specifically for Comic Con, and were never intended to be part of the movie.

  • @okicu Actually, the previews you saw were just a promotion for Tron called Tr2n. Just a little short made a few years ago to let everyone know there was going to be a new Tron movie.

  • @okicu thats pretty much what happened if you look at the cover the guy on it is not in it and that scene never happens I remember seeing that trailer at the theater and was like that looks pretty cool and the actual movie is to but i wonder what the one they had scripted was like

  • Wow 0:40 wasn't even in the movie..

  • I love Jeff Bridges, great actor! Olivia is smokin hot!!!

  • kinda funny how little of this footage actually made it into the final movie.

  • he look older in real time (no movie) and even older in person!!!!!!

  • he was the nemesis in iron man 1

  • starman

  • well hey at least it shows a realistic jump in time...

  • lol the only Sequel were they didn have to make a young guy look old (jeff bridges)

  • I don't know why I just LOVE the music from this movie especially the 'The Grid' or the main theme :). It's a great movie to watch in 3D.

  • I know why some people think it's a remake because it's almost shot for shot a remake but it's not tron 1 and 2 both have the same stuff going on at the same time watch both and you will see what I'm talking about. Legacy is part 2 Flynn making it big owning encom now makes even more games and remakes the grid and legacy takes off about 6 to 7 years after tron bc his kid is like 7 so hints the time gap

  • @harrisonrg777 Uh, 1 and 2 definately don't have the same stuff going on. The new movie actually takes place in present day. Sam Flynn (Flynn's son) is the man protagonist. The same stuff is definately not happening, believe me.

  • I've seen both 2 is more of a rebirth and all the videos seen were from earlier shoots to see what worked and what didn't as you can see tv screen helmet thing didn't work :-) tron clu and Flynn are all apart of it but they changed the origin of the grid for legacy go see it to find out for yourselves

  • what the hell? all of the movie clips that were on this video were not on the movie, they also didnt even wear helmets... weird

  • daft punk

  • hate to correct the dude but trons not the longest time between original and sequel, these are, even if they are shitty sequels * Bambi (1942) -> Bambi II (2006) = 64 years * Cinderella (1950) -> Cinderella II (2002) = 52 years * The Wizard of Oz (1939) -> Return to Oz (1985) = 46 years

and why arent these scenes in the movie??

  • I watched the movie 2 times!!! :D but one question why legacy?? its just a remake....and what I hate it of the movie was the 2D to 3D disney bombed it bad there :(

  • @manlord1596 its not a remake ,you say you watched 2 times and say its a remake you my friend are either blind or retarded

  • @0neRing well guess what?? I didnt see the first one...legacy sounds to me like a continuation but as ive seen through trailers of the 1982 it looks fairly familiar only remastered with todays technology. NO im not retarded nor blind no need for that kind of offences

  • @manlord1596 I'm really sorry then,no hard feelings

  • @manlord1596 I saw the first Tron in theatres and beg to differ, not just a remake... more like a rebirth with one additive that sparkled, that being a really interesting character in the form of Quorra, which I wish the story would have done more with... though the original is very much a cult classic now, the sequel can and did do things the original never could. That being said, I'm still very much a fan of the original, but dammit did the second one rock!

  • @lunid74 I know bro!! from the music to the action sequences I just couldnt get enough!!!!

  • it you don't make a tron 3 i'm gonna derezz you guys, man

  • You won, okay? It's just a game!

  • @AlanHollow Not anymore

  • Why weren't those clips in this video in the movie?

  • @Astonisher63 it would of made the movie more awesome if it started with these clips especially the last one

  • Im proud to have been born in 1982...the year of Tron! I saw it yesterday and was absolutely blown away by it.

  • Ive just watched the Tron: Legacy, and when i saw it i noticed this guy named Tron, but hes was rarely in the movie, and my question is, WHY is the movie called Tron? is the world called Tron? or? Answers.. anyone?

  • @Ottisify this one is called tron because its a sequel to the original. The enemy in the first movie was a master control program who was enslaving all other programs. Allen creates his own program, Tron, to destroy it. when Flynn goes in acedentally, to put it simply, he finds tron and they go to destroy the mcp.

  • @asspounder86 No, I just saying that I understand what 'fazilsidik' is getting at.

  • FUCK IM 27 !!! AMAZING ITS CONTINUITY OF THE MOVIE

  • FUCK IM 27

  • Wall street was 23 years between sequals.

  • SMOSH

  • OMFG!

    YouTube chaged the layout again

  • @crimsonvipor always it give me headache to get used whit new layout...goggle.

  • @fazilsidik I get you

  • so they continue the storyline from the first tron?

  • CHECK OUT THIS TRON MUSIC ABOVE!!!!

  • the mcp was such a dick in the original

  • this IS a sequel right? not just a remake with a same actor

  • @ThatOneGuy831 sequel, jeff is trapped in the "game" and his son enters and i don't know what is the story yet xD

  • In 2038, Jeff's gonna be in Tron 3.0

  • Jeff Bridges is amazing actor, seriously, one of the BEST actors ever. You just have to love him.

  • Check out my Tron Videos, one is in the video response for this video

  • I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE!!!

  • @whisperawish you better watch this on 3D on IMAX screen and not on the internet or DVD

  • He looks like Beau Bridges now!

  • When he'll pass away I am gonna sooo cry my heart out.....

  • @Adirondaque hes not that old... he could live another 20 years easy.

  • @ovechkin100 I know :p

  • why in tron legacy Flynn is still trapped?

  • @NickoRules17 watch the movie in theatres it will show u why...

  • Thumbs up if you want to own a light bike

  • He IS the dude!

  • Tron is a classic Love the 1st one

  • Is it actually the longest time between sequels?

  • My calculation says, now almost 62.

  • Fuckin Grand!!

  • Will Dec 17th, 2010 PLEASE ARRIVE SOON???!!!

  • The dude rides

  • It's the Dude!

  • Jeff Bridges was 32 in the first Tron Movie.

  • I LOVE JEFF BRIDGESS GOD BLESS HIM WHENEVER HE IS RIGHT NOWW... TRON 80'S WAS GOOD.. NOW WITH THE ULTIMATELY TECHNOLOGY IT WOULD BE AWESOMEE.. LOVE IT.. A MUST SEE MOVIE

  • Yeah, Jeff is the man! I think that for all those years many people, including Jeff, haven't got the slightest idea how ground-braking that film was! In 1982 Jeff Bridges found himself in a cinematic milestone people will talk about forever. Look, for so many years there has been no talking about the movie, yet suddenly around 2003 a PC videogame came out, introducing TRON story from a bit updated perspective, and from then on the TRON franchise machine is going faster and faster! At last!

  • Jeff Bridges = LEGEND

  • is it just me or does it seem that Jeff is the only one who wants to be there?

  • I'm not a program... I'm the f'n Dude, man.

  • @m2pmd70 You're messin' with my zen, man.....

    :p

  • I love him with the beard

  • i love how the trailer shows a young face on Jeff (and his normal older features)...i cant wait to see why it is shown like that in the movie (well obviously they have the technology to do it).

this is one of the COOLEST mixes of cgi and live-action.

and Jeff Bridges being in BOTH Tron films is the icing on the cake.

(oh not to mention Daft Punk on the score.)

I think my respect for Disney movies just sky-rocketed.

  • @mhaze210 i kno its crazy he looks like hes at least in his mid 30s

  • @MatrixRocker You talkin' about him killing the guy at the end? I'm sure it's cgi work over his face.

  • Did he get older or younger all that years? O.o

  • the Dude !!! looks like he became a nihilist...

  • @KokoroSky2

"yea well, you know, thats just like your opinion, man.."

  • @BasicallyBiz hehe, you sink I ham kiding ? I fill kut off yourr Chonson !!!

  • its must be crazy for him coming from the old Tron and seeing how visual effects almost 30 years ago was like revolutionary at that time and then coming to do Tron Legacy and seeing the difference. Its gotta be crazy for him to see how cinema has developed over the years and to be part of a franchise which is breaking barriers in the CGI department.

  • @123Kenge He isn't a retard

i'm sure since he has been in the movie biz for 30 somethin years, i'm sure he realises the developments

  • jeff hit that, and so did i

  • Is that Jeff's wife ?

    Another reason why he rocks.

  • @thenickelbackfan5

no, that was Olivia Wilde - from 'House' & 'The O.C'. probably his co actress. she's indeed wasn't born when the orig. movie was released.

  • compare the graphics of the first to the one now, look at how much tech has improved, now take the fact that its compounding, ie each new invention or breakthrough in tech enables another 10 or 100 or more breakthroughs to be achievable (e.g wireless information transfer (radios etc) also made things like walkie talkies, cell phones, wifi possible) so think how tech can improve in another 10 years and then 20 and then 30, the future is nearer than you think.

  • Longest time between sequels is probably this but it might be Wallstreet, or The color of money (Which was a sort of sequel to The Hustler)

  • @tripwilliams2 What about The Wizard of Oz and Return to Oz? That was 40-something years between films wasn't it?

  • Damn I miss the 80's, most of the movies were all original ideas and not cheesy remakes.

  • @Jetmechanic001 not a remake, it's a sequel

  • the dude!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The original was ahead of it's time. I'm looking forward to this one.

  • DUDE! Mass Effect sort of music! AWESOME!

  • damn i cant wait to see this!

  • AlienLifeRaft . com

  • the old man at the beginning is flynn correct?

  • Wow it looks awesome already and add the fact that Daft Punk made the music...WOW

  • Definitely NOT the longest time between sequels. The Birds and The Birds II was 31 years. Maybe top 3 or top 5. Bambi and Bambi II, I think has the honour of being the longest gap in movie sequels at 44 years.

  • @MrMaxwellSearcy It might be the same with live-action or returning cast members as far as movies go.

  • @MrMaxwellSearcy

let's re phrase. the longest gap between 2 films that aren't let downs. Birds 2. not my cuppa tea. Bambi 2... well lets face it... it's a sequel to bambi.

  • @MrMaxwellSearcy Fantasia and Fantasia 2000 had a 60 year gap. Longest one I know of.

  • I just hope all the CG that is available doesn't make it look "hokey"!! TRON is a really big pair of shoes to step into!!

  • check out my youtube page, I made a spoof called Fron in honor of the new movie!

  • I loved the way he said it, "It's amazing. This guys(Olivia and Garrett) weren't even BORN when the first one came out!" Such a warm feeling!

  • Visually the first TRON holds up even today. It still looks unique and beautiful. This is going to be perfect how cyberspace of the 80s will be contrasted to the present.

  • @yourLoyalBaron

Partially because the designs - Mobius and Syd Mead - were so bloody good. And it has its own unique aesthetic that hasn't dated at all.

  • Jeff Bridges is 65 and he looks so young!! It just shows what the right hair cut can do to image. You look great Jeff!

  • @TheChicaboo He's 60.

  • @TheChicaboo

wow i didn't think he was that old...

  • @TheChicaboo

plus he runs around and kicks ass for a 65 yr old lol

  • @TheChicaboo It's his sheer awesomeness that keeps him fresh. Look through his filmography...so many great movies, so many incredible roles. Jeff Bridges. What a cool, cool guy (and great actor).

  • @TheChicaboo He' s 60, numbnuts.

  • @TheChicaboo Kind of a pity they made him have a beard in the movie. He looks younger without it.

Still, he IS holding up remarkably well for his age

  • @TheChicaboo

    He's 60

  • @TheChicaboo woah woah, he's not 65, he's 60 now.

  • @TheChicaboo i kno i saw some pics of him in tron and he looks mid 30s at least

  • @TheChicaboo He's 60. I do agree he does look young.

  • @TheChicaboo

You're a couple of years ahead there buddy. Jeff is only 60, not 65.

  • @TheChicaboo

    uh bud, hes 60 LOL
