  • I've never got it straight whether the Cossacks were Ukrainian or Russian. I always thought they were from the Ukraine but here the Russians are claiming them.

    Whichever, it's magnificent.

  • @andersmful Well theyve basicly always been a calavry unit for Russia, do you happen to know weither they are tartars or slavs? Knowing what ethnic group they are, may be the key

  • @andersmful

    tThey're fully russian.

  • White mean can't jump. Except the Cossaks.

  • @CoutureSista короче Систа, не спорь со мной. я занимаюсь этногенезом и знаю, о чем говорю.

  • Not only Ukrainian, also there are elements from Caucasian nations' dances

  • It's not russian in fact. This are cossaks from Cuban, where they come сenturies ago from Ukraine, basic elements and moves in their dance are from Ukrainian cossaks dance Hopak

  • If russians are as good as everything else as they are at dancing im afraid what would happen to the world if usa ever were dumb enough to enter a war with them...

  • 'Mikhail Yak-son' ( Michael Jackson ) stole the idea of the 'break dance' from the Cossacks.

  • @hermitcrabbot Michael Jackson never did break dancing.

  • @4head11

I stand corrected. I was fooled by all the You Tube videos entitled 'Michael Jackson-Break Dance'.

After some research, I can find no videos or references associating him with what is incorrectly called

'Break Dancing'. The correct term is 'B-Boy'. I will hereafter leave Michael Jackson out of this.

I still believe from comparing cossack dances to spinning break b-boy moves, that there is rarely anything

    new under the sun.

  • @hermitcrabbot Oh, there is no doubt about the b-boys and break dancers took some of there inspirtions from russian dances like these as well as from Capoeira ( Brazilian martial art)

  • @StG45m Ну, я бы не сказал, терские казаки известны с 13 века. Казаки же бывают не только запорожскими. ;)

  • @StG45m ты победил

  • The Russian army has a dance?!

  • Russia's army has a dance..?

  • I wonder if the guy at 1:10 could dunk a basketball.

  • the original jerks!!

  • lol 4:14 bboy issue

  • and Hopak is very old over 1k years

dance came from Ukrainian Cossacks mortal art

  • @1Kimerian How is that possible when the Cossacks are not 1000 years old, they were mentioned first in the 14th century.

  • @HelenaXVI so u think that if they were first mentioned in 14th century than before that date they could not exist?

try search in google Svyatoslav (Sviatoslav) Great Kniaz' of Kiyv and u will see that in 10th century were Cossacks but such name as Cossack in that time was not used by hronologist during balkan war against Vizantians (greeks) they called us Scyths :)

try to read or translate Ukrainian wiki about Svyatoslav and see pictures of him and u will see that he was Cossack :)

  • @1Kimerian I already know prince Svyatoslav, thank you. He was not a Cossack, sorry.

  • @HelenaXVI that not a answer. u just denying that fact that he was Cossack where your contrfacts? or u have not them and only way u left for yourself is denying :) very sad

can i ask u what nationality u are?

  • man thats NOT Russian dance

its national UKRAINIAN dance called Hopak

u all just can search in google Hopak or Cossacks dance Hopak

see history and geografy and u will learn what difference is

  • 31 people are red with jealousy they aren't as cool as these guys.

  • @HelenaXVI And that they aren't of russian heritage
