Depends on where you live. What some people would consider pets is seen as food in other places. In parts of Asia dogs are also eaten. Some people like eating bacon while there are people out there that keep pigs as pets. While Jews and Muslims would see eating and keep pigs as pets as dirty and wrong (religion).
