  • 1 dislike...poor sucker

  • there's one too many faggots out there

  • Nirvana were pioneers. Pearl Jam is in no means in anyone's shadow though. They have their own shadow which bands are in. Soundgarden stood alone as well. Everyone is quick to forget other bands though. Alice in Chains never gets the respect that they deserve. They should be included in the group with the other three bands I mentioned. Yes they were alot harder but their song writing and musical talent was amazing! Damn I miss the 90's!

  • @marlinman892004 And don’t forget the Stone Temple Pilots, I know they weren’t from Seattle but they were in the same league! Together, AIC, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam and STP make up my favorite bands. In order, I’d have to say (first to last) Soundgarden, Nirvana, AIC, STP and Pearl Jam, but they were all massively talented and they’re about 70% of what I listen to. All so talented in different ways :P

  • @xXgrungie You are right about that. I am happy you mentioned STP. Unlike Alice in Chains who receive a little credit. For some reason STP seems to always be forgotten, even though they were an amazing band. Their music had their own unique sound. It sucks that people look at them as a commercialized fake of nirvana because they definately were not. They had their own unique sound and they were amazing musicians. Kudos to you and your top 5 bands because your list is excellent :)

  • @marlinman892004 Thanks, it’s rare that people agree with me about my list! STP usually causes some big argument, but so many grunge bands came from outside Seattle, like L7, Babes in Toyland, and Hole and they all had the same sound no matter where they were from.

So yes, you have a spectacular music taste as far as I know ;)

And to you and everyone else, if you haven’t seen PJ20, it’s amazing, it really makes you think. Such a good movie, I strongly suggest you watch it.

  • Pearl Jam = Better Writing of music. Soundgarden = Most Talented. Nirvana = Put it together better.

  • Pearl Jam and Nirvana are great, but in my mind, Soundgarden was the best and most talented of that scene and will always be my favorite band. All 3 are lightyears ahead of the rock music of today.

  • N my mind BEST BAND EVER!

  • Pearl Jam makes me proud to be a Seattleite.

  • thumbs up if you prefer Vs.

  • Recently I was awakened to the fact that I've been missing something extremely important in my life without even knowing it.... And that something is Pearl Jam

  • The best album that I've ever heard in my whole life!! And this song deserves more recognizing...

  • TEN........BEST ALBUM EVER MADE

  • powerful

  • This song makes me remember about long summer days in beach, listening the pure rock & roll of 90's like Nirvana or Pearl Jam :)

  • pearl jam and nirvana...my ultimate favs until i die

  • Wonderful. Just wonderful, this song. :)

  • Dude I've been looking for this song all night! Finally found it!

  • I love Nirvana and I'm trying to get into Pearl Jam but every song sounds the same to me. It sounds like they use 1 chord throughout each song. Is this meant to be a fusion between grunge and minimalist music?

  • @J4m3z1 Are you kidding me? Man, most of Pearl Jam songs uses a wide variety of chords. Oceans (this songs) has like 8 chords, including variations. Anyway, a song is not better because it's made with more chords. Remember Something in the Way? Great song and just two chords

  • @blackholedays Well kurt was a badass with any cords, he can write songs less then 5 mins lol

  • @J4m3z1 I think when you wrote that you hadn't heard much Pearl Jam. No two albums from PJ sound similar. That is partly why they lost so much of the limelight after the first couple of albums and obtained the underground cult-like fanbase, because their sound changed so drastically. I bought their first 7 studio albums and each one is unique and represents a different time-period in my life. Very few bands can claim that kind of diversity in their sound.

  • @J4m3z1 If you compare the albums "Ten" and "No Code", you'll find they almost sound like two completely different bands because of the style difference. They aren't an attempt to fit into any 1 genre, nor are they trying to go for some "fusion" concept. One of the many differences between Nirvana and Pearl Jam might be the way Nirvana had a more definable attitude and aesthetic. Pearl Jam was a bit more amorphous and difficult to label. You'll of course get arguments about this.

  • @J4m3z1 By the way, I hate comparing Nivana and Pearl Jam, I am only mentioning them because you did. Try to not approach PJ like that. "I love Nirvana, so I should also listen to Pearl Jam." Just approach them as a completely different band and set up no expectations or demands. It is a whole different experience.

  • yeah nigger

  • @CrystallineAscension im glad you posted this about your husband being deployed to Germany after Desert Storm. This song, too, touches me in more ways than anything else. "Oceans Apart" makes a whole lot of sense :)

  • so effing good

  • @CrystallineAscension Thats seriously beautiful :)

  • this song should last at least a full record!!!!

  • You can just feel that Passion and View the Art... Love Grunge and Pearl Jam!

  • I WILL BE, I WILL BE THERE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON

  • 1 guy is idiot...

  • who is the one loser who dis liked this classic?!?!

  • Best fucking Album ever

  • I purchased this album in 1992. I thought it was the best album I had ever bought in my LIFE. Every song on the CD is just so freaking deep. You can feel the songs. I had never experienced anything like that in music before. Ten is one of the best albums in music history. To understand this, you have to understand that the music out there at the time was as shallow as it is today. I'm not saying this was the first grunge album to ever come out, but wow what a masterpiece.

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre fuck you kike!

  • @nnnnnate Well Said. This album came along at the right time. Nirvana was a racket, good stuff, but it was a noise. Pearl Jam was Mozart, classical hard core rock and roll.

  • good stuff, love this album

  • thumbs up if Ten is by far the best PJ album ever!

  • @AngellaRK1995 I DISAGREE. VITALOGY IS JUST AWESOME. BEYOND GOOD.

  • This song is really soothing.

    makes me think of sunsets

  • Fantastic!

  • Can we please get more bands from the 90s back together so we can have something good to listen to again? What we're getting these days is pure rubbish.

  • fantastic

  • imo nicklebck not in same league as pearl jam :)

  • @horv72 pearl jam is faaaaaaar better than nickleback or any similar to it stuff...

  • @horv72 never will be nickleback lmao

  • how do people relate this to nickle back? it sounds way different.

  • This song makes me cry...but only on the inside.

  • This isn't top 10 o,1990. This is top 10. Period. This may be the best album ever put out.

  • @greenslashpurple queen - a night at the opera is the best album ever

  • @rockerduff1231 Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti is the best album ever

  • @bbeboutuaa It's a matter of opinion, really. That's a great album too.

  • @bbeboutuaa pearl jam ten is the best album ever and led zeppelin 4 is a close second

  • @bbmcc08 could go either way on that 1 wow tuff call!

  • @stewpdass666 its a tough call i agree ;-)

  • @bbeboutuaa it's a matter of opinion, but physical graffiti doesn't compare in terms of brilliance and versatility that queen had on that album.

  • @rockerduff1231 That conversation was 3 months ago, The best album IMO now is the Aphrodites Child album 666. But hey it's only my opinion

  • defo top ten albums of the 90's

  • Whether it's about a surfboard or a girl named Beth...It's a beautiful love song.

  • SUCKS

  • @yovioleatuzorramadre yeaa okay buddy. if this song sucks so much, why the fuck are you on it??!

    Dumbass.

  • @JessTrippy That's what restless, pathetic "I live in my moms basement, I'm 34 and divorced and I used to live in a van down by the river and I still play dungeons and dragons" kind of people do.

  • @MarkHarrellJr True, i should have though of that :P

  • first time ive heard this one since a crappy walkman ate my tape circa 1995. i am about to fall out of my chair.

  • nothing on this album in underrated, it plays all the time everywhere

  • so sad :(

  • i swear this is excatly how angels sing.

  • @XxSlipKnoTx4xLIF3xX

check out jeff buckley if you want to see how angels sing, he's definitely a contender with eddie

  • @Bayview05 Last Goodbye is a great tune!!

  • This song is perfect in every conceivable way,

    Beauty in its rawest form,

    Just like the Ocean

  • @OriginalityImpaired Totally agree. This is a band that holds the power to give you tingles down your spine, To let you close your eyes and drift along the waves of music, to take you to a place outside of yourself. I honestly cannot name one single band that has done that for me in the past 5, maybe even 10 years!! Bring back music with meaning and passion!!!

  • I have to agree beautiful song..love it love it & I give it a 10 all the way.

  • One of the best albums - beginning to end - ever made.

  • @johnmckenna80 true indeed

  • essa musica e do caralho

  • By seeing every video by them, I conclude by what some people say that every song is their best song... And I surely agree with them..

  • @Bananiolo so fking true tho i think world wide suicide was a minor fail i never lisen to that song by choice ever but i think they were just grabbing at something different probly trying to make a comeback though they Never needed to!

  • possibly the greatest pearl jam song ever you could just feel his songs echo through your soul he just had such passion it poured out into his music

  • awsome song

  • could someone please tell me what this song is about......i realy real like it and it helps me when im sad....but i dont know what its talking about

  • surfing

  • this song is about his surf board, believe it or not

  • The most underrated song from Pearl :(

    A masterpiece !

  • @NearbyHermit and no song on ten was ever underated that album as a whole is one of thier greatest for sure was brought up listening to it

  • @NearbyHermit

I was thinking the same thing. Listening to this song takes me back to the time when it came out...to the point where I can almost smell and taste it. Amazing what power music holds.

  • @NearbyHermit given to fly

  • nice song...makes me want to go to the beach :)

  • Ten and Versus the best LP's of Pearl Jam!!

  • The sea will rise... :D

  • If you can't find tranquility in this song, then you really don't recognise good music! I feel sleepy everytime I listen to this song,Eddie's voice is so peaceful .

  • one of favourite all time songs, just great

  • Anthemic

  • this song is so epic...

Pearl Jam, between eddie's robust multileveled vocals and the jimi hendrix and grunge inspired rock, just makes for a powerful experience.

  • pearl jam is sooooooooo good !

    the best

  • Pearl Jam is awesome and im so glad there coming out with Backspacer. PJ 4 ever

  • Damn the fretless bass is raw!

  • @GecSword i like bass lines that are not fretening :-}

  • @GecSword thanks god is raw cuz ament was fucking crazy old when they recorded this crap, and being a bad bassist at that age is a real fucking lame

  • @GecSword screams of the era. love it with a passion!

  • @GecSword what a dated comment
