Seeing this for the first time literally made me cry though. Aeris was so innocent. Sephiroth is such a gigantic asshole for doing that... Good thing you totally destroy him at the end :)

You know... I've seen all of these characters suffer much more traumatic wounds and only get like 300 damage or something... Maybe it only killed her because it was a sneak attack. There's another word for it. It was the same thing that killed Optimus Prime. I think it was called a... cheap shot?

Just barely got to this part... I knew it was coming from the begining (first playthrough, but c'mon... who DOESN'T know) so i didn't use her at all.

I guess i didn't have the 'emotional connection' to her. I think it would've been much more sad if tifa or yuffie died. Aeris always kindof seemed.... out of place in this game. Idk..

Maybe it's just me, but I wasn't quite attached enough to Aeris's persona? for this to emotionally effect me the second time? I mean when I was 7, yeah I got teary eyed..

I guess she just lacked emotion and spunk of previous FF title female roles.

Also, how many sword stabs have these characters taken already? Didn't Cloud stock up on Phoenix Downs? Damnit, Cloud, you're so irresponsible!

actually players never die, they are knocked out, and those killed by sephiroths sword cannot be revived

"Aeris" was a mistranslation in the original FFVII release. "Aerith" is the correction.

I reached this part last night. Quite possibly one of the saddest scenes I've seen in a game.

I honestly was able to feel the tears welling up in my eyes. It's such a powerful scene. And I honestly don't get why people hate her either. I had her in my team most of the time. Her healing really comes in handy.

And to all the people who say she deserved to die, answer me this. Why did she deserve to die?

I agree with you. I dont understand why people say she deserves to die. Maybe their jealous because Aeris got more attention from Cloud then Tifa? I have no idea :l I thought she had to die because it she didnt then maybe Cloud and the rest wouldnt have won?

Well technically, she was trying to save the Planet from Meteor. I wouldn't call it a Sacrifice exactly. Because if Sephiroth didn't show up and impale her, she would've lived through this.

I agree with what you said about her getting more attention than Tifa. Though I see it this way. Tifa might have feelings for him but that doesn't mean they're right for each other.

I've had strong feelings for one of my best friends since childhood. But it's one sided. She doesn't love me back I reckon.

I reckon it's Cloud's choice who he wants to be with. Personally, I thought he liked Aeris/Aerith more. A hint of it is when he can't bring himself to move on in Advent Children. He thought he was to blame for her death and was asking for forgiveness.
