wheelies just come from practice. Just start using the clutch to do it. Luckily the 450 has plenty of power to pull the front end up. I've ridden the DS650 a few times and it is a heavy beast so it may take healthy timing with the clutch.

@kohlton38 The flat track part was a mild spin out but luckily i got it turned around backwards. The front tires do help. The tired with the solid line or fin work best but when i bought my fronts they didn't make tires small enough not to look like balloons so i went with the shark fin.

@67turbobird That sucks about your knee! Luckily I haven't had any major injuries in my riding career. The YFZ450 is an amazing quad. I have a little time on the Honda, the major difference is the 450 will rev a little faster. The yamaha has 5 valve twin cam, the Honda has uni-cam 4 valve. Its a minute difference. Either bike can beat the other, its all about the rider. Good luck with you recovering but keep your KX. That bike has to be a beast.

I'm unsure where Vacaville is but check out places like Miami Trails near Oakhurst, CA and Hollister Hills. A google search of CA riding areas will be far greater help than me. Good luck and keep the rubber side down.
If you're talking about the clip towards the end, it was a flat track at Lodi. Its called a blue groove because the dirt absorbs the rubber and turns it close to concrete. Its a lot of fun.
A arms / swingarm and works shocks all the way around. It could soak up anything. I had to take some time to dial them in but woops in the sand i could just hit in 5th pinned and skate across them.

I would say when i got a Yamaha Blaster in 1997. I was 10 or 11. I never really went out and practiced though. If you really wanted to be the man and practiced everyday, it wouldn't take you a long time. You won't go over backwards on hard ground because of the grab bar so if you go over backwards just hang on and wait for the quad to stop. It takes a few close calls to realize that you can go over the balance point backwards and still recover. good luck and stay safe.
i would always go with straights. The amount of traction you lose with the "V" was never worth it for me. I never really thought the "V" was better at turning anyway. My favorite paddle is the Skat Trak Hauler. The paddle is awesome and the rough finish looks mean.

Straights Hook up better in straight lines, but the v's hook up better when you're turning- you see alot of them at Oregan where people do hill climbs through trees.
Geckos have a little of both, but they're not the best doing anything...
i used a sony handycam with Hi 8 tapes. pretty old stuff. i got it to my computer using a DV (digital video) cable which allowed .avi. When i uploaded this to youtube the allowable MB was only 100 and the High Quality option came about 6 months after i uploaded it so i don't know how that works. i assume it would do it automatically.

most of the long wheelies are when the bike was stock. when i do them along the bowls its bone stock. still had the thumb on it. just keep practicing and dont be afraid to fall back. it will happen a few times.
my 450 now has motor work and i can pull the front up in 5th at about 3/4 throttle with a 15 tooth front sprocket.
still a 450. i did the ignition, wiseco piston, machined an airbox that fits 250R air filters, polished the head and some trick compression porting on the piston.
Those Wheelies are impressive! :) never road sand as i live in the UK. But i guess its fairly are as you dont get the instant responce like you do on dirt. am i right?
everything was aftermarket besides the frame, subframe and motor but it had work done to it. the song is Skid Row Youth Gone Wild. glad you liked the video.

When i uploaded this to youtube the allowable MB was only 100 and the High Quality option came about 6 months after i uploaded it so i don't know how that works. i assume it would do it automatically.

What do you have on that quad that gives you that extra power to pull those wheelie's cause i have almost the same quad as you I even have the maier hood scoop haha, but ive always wondered what I can do to wheelie like that up the dunes haha on my bike in the dunes I can't get the front end up if my life depended on it haha

most of the long wheelies are when the bike was stock. when i do them along the bowls its bone stock. still had the thumb on it. just keep practicing and dont be afraid to fall back. it will happen a few times.
my 450 now has motor work and i can pull the front up in 5th at about 3/4 throttle with a 15 tooth front sprocket.
still a 450. i did the ignition, wiseco piston, machined an airbox that fits 250R air filters, polished the head and some trick compression porting on the piston.

Those Wheelies are impressive! :) never road sand as i live in the UK. But i guess its fairly are as you dont get the instant responce like you do on dirt. am i right?

never had any trouble. there was some forging problems with the piston in the first year but it was fixed.
