@TheShootTruth10 This is a very good question, overall 1080p is the best. But for youtube i really recommend rendering 720p because many user's computers can't handle 1080p due to it's CPU usage. You really cannot tell the difference between them unless you view it on a tv or projector, that is when 1080p would become beneficial.

I can't figure out how to export the video to my computer, obviously the memory stick thing didn't work.. the files are really big and they are not buffering on my VLC player nor in my Sony Vegas Pro 0,9 version.. Wtf? Anyone?

thb it is the lamest registration stuff like ever.. I struggled to find out how to take my videos through the wire from my cam to my computer, so I just ended up taking the memory stick into my computer instead, wasted a lot of time and I got really pissed.. But the camera is great tho. True about the camera battery, it sucks.

I just got this camera, AMAZING, I hooked it up to a big sony bravia HD tv and I could not believe the quality (with the rgb cables) it was better than I could have ever dreamed possible on my budget. No it only rattles when turned off. According to the manual on page 151 (English) at the very top it says that "A rattling can be heard from the camcorder - the internal lens fixture can move when the camcorder is turned off. This is not a malfunction." I saw this after I had posted my comment - figures.

As i search camcorder test on youtube , first , it suprise me that how many people love canon camcorder more than sony camcorder , and i ended up bought canon vixia hf 11. But in my experiment opinion, i should chosen sony hdr cx 500 ....one big problem i dont like with my can non is IMAGE STABLEBILITY...i am not talking about Optical Image Stablebility ....My canon film is shaking no mater what i try to contol my arm ...iam very disapointed

It's a shame to hear about the Sony, but everyone has an opinion and their own preferences! I like the little remote control, that's really awesome! Still wasn't able to get the battery in right off...it is different though, I know what you mean, because my gUrlfriend has a cannon! That is really nice quality! When you moved giving a pan view, it didn't blurr at all, and it does really well on the recording of sound! WOW! That autofocus!!! Worth the money!?

the reason why 300x seems shaky is because it zoom in on a part of the screen, and everything else is magnified too. so your movements will be magnified too, and so if you shake a little, you shake a lot

Carlos you realize that there probably is no difference at a point in YouTube quality, the Sony, YouTube HD has a limit of 720p or 720 horizontal pixels, both of those cameras shoot at higher res than that, so there were probably mitigating factors in the video you saw of the Cannon.

Im just saying if your shooting for YouTube its a 99.9% unnoticeable difference.

well you are going to have the same problem where you just can't drag and drop the video file due to the fact that it records in AVCHD format. when recorded in that format it must be copied by AVCHD compatible software
