The game comes with a map editor that I have found to be incredibly easy to use. Just click where you want an enemy, select the unit from a drop-down list, put some more around, set up your spawn point, and you can go with unlimited freedom. You could ignore the enemies and fly though the mountains if you want, it is tons of fun.

No. You need to be slow when you engage auto hover. Also, don't fight the auto hover.
