I acutally enjoyed the dark, moodiness of this composition. That's the beauty of music..it can lift us up, bring us places...the movement is never in one direction. Good job Matthew

It's not too bad but I feel like it's incomplete somehow, perhaps if you did change it up with a cello or added a haunting solo violin? For what it is it's a pretty good composition. =)

@checkMEmusic I like this comment. You've really given it some thought. I get an idea going, and then it just feels like it's time to bring the piece to an end. Perhaps with a little maturity, I'll be able to write longer works in the future.

I like that your melody here has been assigned to the cello register of the piano against the gentle throb of a higher registered beat. It somehow adds to the solitude. Perhaps you might do another version of this for cello - yes? The melody is so beautifully shaped for the timbre of a cello. Just a thought :)

@JAYASEKERA What music program do you have? I don't have any, but I'm thinking in the new year I might take the plunge. I have only just bought a computer. Out of my era utterly! The cello, "high brow"??? Hehehe - hardly! It's the one instrument I feel is more closely aligned to the voice than any other. You would write for it well. You have the musical soul for it. Blessings now.....
