@lexisopretty lol how did you come to a conclusion based off of your own logic and not facts. 1) Monica has limited range; she always had. She sings in one register for the most part because she has NEVER been trained. She's always thought she didn't need it. but it has held her back because she hasn't yet learned effectively how to use her voice...as clearly demonstrated in all of her recent performance videos, i.e. BET awards.

@lexisopretty furthermore, Monica, being the step-daughter of a pastor, has also grew up singing in church. In this, she is no different than Fantasia. Now, what I can agree on is Fantasia does do a lot of yelling and screaming. But, she has also been trained, especially during her stint on broadway. This is why she's able to tax her voice without straining it or becoming hoarse. She's learned great technique, Monica has not. Therefore, Tasia is the better singer. Thanks

@lillutha I don't agree on Monica doesn't have great technique. Monica has great technique! She knows how to use all her voice: low notes, belting, vibrato, runs, ab-libs, head voice. Monica is a all around vocalist. She just isn't tryna hit extra high notes, & she's an alto, she loves to sing her comfortable range. Both are great singer, Fantasia has more passion in this song, but I think overall Monica is the better vocalist.

I agree that Monica is an all around singer; she has an amazing voice. but for the longest time, she really didn't know how to use it properly. She's learning now, which is why she's been able to hit higher notes on these 2 most recent cd's. Also, she's a contralto, like Brandy, except with a stronger voice. Big ups Mo!

She's said it herself. & I don't necessarily think she didn't have great technique, I think she choose to sing in a comfort range & never tried to hit other notes that she may have been comfortable in her range.
