I see that the dots for where to hit notes on the string are not arranged like they would be on a western guitar...does anyone know what system the guqin uses for pitch?

Also, how is guqin music notated on paper (if at all...i don't know)?

It is a kind of left hand finger movement. It gives a very subtle vibrato. Yao - kind of gliding left and right.
