It looks like a grid array of tiny solenoid operated reflectors. That tiny black dot at the end of the vid is a camera. The software driving this thing probably divides what it sees into a similar array of light patterns and adjusts the position of each reflector depending upon the amount of light in that tiny area. 100% 'up' for very light areas and 50% 'up' for mid-tones. I would guess it only works under certain lighting conditions and probably is not producing a colour image. Neat!
there is a camera (and computer algorithm) in the middle that translates an image into movement commands for those little tiles. the tiles shift up or down to create shadows and highlights, mimicking the image received from the camera.

This is how DLP projectors and DLP TV works, only with smaller mirrors and a color wheel to make the different colors.

its a camera ... hooked up to 100s of orangey disks ...
the camera registers what color is coming in and moves the disk to reflect that same color back ( except its in tones of orangy purple)
