  • This is such a very rare song that actually was on the charts. I love Youtube. Who would have thunk it? Yes we still had fun novelty songs back in the good old 60's. Wonder if Katy Perry would cover this one?

  • @Barking914

    Hopefully not.

  • And he's still singing it - somewhere in Spain...

  • my dad use to play this song on his record player it was a 45! this takes me way back when i was abt.6 years old

  • The music of the 60's, 70's and early 80's was brilliant, sadly on a downward spiral thereafter - today we seem to have ended up with "manufactured" music and overnight pop star wanabees - in it for their few weeks (if they are lucky, months) of fame then a quick return to obscurity - both for them and their music !!

  • Mom & Dad are gone but their music lioves on !! Gotta love it .

  • Love it! Saw Leapy singing in Majorca the other week, I think he's great - entertains me no end.

  • check the description. who the fuck needs lyrics? this guy is amazing. fuck the lyrics. i learnt them in like 5 mins lol.

  • I saw him a couple of years ago in Majorca and he was pretty good. He was successful in America apparently and has played the Grand Ole Opry. If you don't know what that is I suggest that you look up a video of some of today's rubbish, because, trust me, you won't find that on here in 40 years time!

  • my dad had this on a 78rpm. I miss him. Ive not heard this in 20 years but I remeber the words!!!!

  • my dad had this on a 78rpm. I miss him

  • great song

  • loved him!!!!!!!!!

  • que buena gracias por colgarla en la red

  • his face must have been a disadvantage in the show business, his gestures are so ridiculous that he might be rejected even for a cabaret show.

  • Its hard to tell untill your hit ;]

  • I wore out a 45 of this back then. Not sure why now, in retrospect.

  • @alan4sure Dont worry , we all had questionable taste in music when we were younger ...................

  • Gordon mills, the mastermind behind tom jones and engelbert tried to strike gold again,,,,,,,,,,,,oh well,,,, he tried.

  • Heard this on XMRadio yesterday, what a catchy tune......

  • IS HE BRITISH? im s brit

  • This song takes me back to when I was stabbed in a pub by a drunken lout. Ahhh.

  • This actually takes me back to 1987, in Lee Mill WMC Stacksteads, Bacup where this was a regular on the juke box. It was at this time I fell for Lizzy Taylor, not realizing at the time that she was just taking the piss out of me, but, hell, this sure brings back the memories of teenage love/lust.

  • .>>>>>>

  • I woke up this morning with this song in my head...haven't heard it for what over 40 years...and I am thankful that someone in youtube world downloaded this!

  • dad used to sing this to me when i was little i loved it xxx

  • i used to run to restaurant that had a juke box pop in my nickel and listen to song ....distractions of childhood...what happened since then lol

  • i used to run to restaurant that had a juke box pop in my nickel and listen to song ....distractions of childhood...

  • Hang on, now I get the Little Arrows song. It was the design on his costume when he was put inside for being a drunken violent yob. Oh oh oh the pain. Fucking ace song.

  • Ahh sweet. Does that mean he loved the barman he stabbed in that pub?

  • Doesn't anyone find it a bit ironic he's singing about little arrows that will hit you once and hit you once again and then he served a year for stabbing someone? Is that life imitating art or vice versa?

  • @MsJudgejudy

Except that the "little arrows" he's singing about aren't literal, but a reference to Cupid.

  • @MsJudgejudy..."Leapy Lee" would Not even bother to answer your Accusation.if he saw it. So I Will...

" Stabbing " as You state was exaggerated beyond belief.as just a scratch on arm

In UK Today's the incident would not receive a Police Response !!

But the years you are Talking about .. You could get 6 months Just for carrying a knife

Unfortunately now with PC Brigade, Do-gooders & Human Rights if You're Shot they would probably claim it as Your fault for standing in the way of the Bullet

  • I was 7 when this came out and I still remember all the words

  • I love this song. The late Brendan O'Brien of the Dixies Showband, Cork, Ireland had a hit in Ireland with a cover version.

  • In 1974/75/ or 78 I was in London and witnessed an exquistely maudlin television program (of which I caught only the tail end) which seemed to feature a "farewell" of some kind to none other than 'Leapy Lee', who pranced about & sang "Little Arrows" through his tears and was wildly applauded by the audience who were also in tears. I don't know whether it was HIS show signing off or what, but as someone with absolutely NO culture reference to him, it was morbidly fascinating.

  • This song was extremely popular and ubiquitous in 1968.

  • A good ole happy tune!

  • haha hahaha

  • Good and funny!

  • Yay, let's here it for Leapy Lee.

  • @LikeOMG4real

He could just be an undigested bit of beef!

  • omg I had a dream about singing this song- I used to LOVE this song 100 years ago! LOL

  • Gawd that's awful.

  • この曲を聴くと八木まことさんを思い出す。

  • BEDODODODODOOO

  • This song reached number 1 on the Country music charts in Canada.

My in-laws manager, who pulled in acts like John Cash, June Carter, EA Presley, Janis Joplin, John Lennon and others tried desperately to get Lee over here to take advantage of his chart position but, as my mother-in-law remembers, there was a problem with obligations that he had to honour in the UK.

I just about died laughing when I saw this on NMTB, picturing all of the old boys in the Legion halls, here, singing it.

  • Wait, Answers .com does say mr pulley blank served 2 years after a bar fight involving Diana Dors husband I stand corrected, squeeze me and call me pulleyblank !

  • I used to have this tune on a 45 rpm back in the day and I still love it to this day

  • @thaitanium12...You are an asshole! You don't have to comment if you have nothing good to say regardless of what Leapy Lee did or did not do. This is about music, not pompous regurgitation of ignorant belief.

@XxXambergrahamXxX, Don't give this bastard the satisfaction of being self-righteous! He just wants attention!

  • this comment goes out to the gobshit thaitanium GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT before you pass slanderous comments.

  • I saw this guy perform in Andorra last night. He's 71 now and he's still got it. He owns a bar in Santa Ponza, Majorca (called Leapy's would you believe) and apparently performs there regularly.

  • @okikocay

    Wow !!!

  • @okikocay the question is did he ever have it, I mean did he have something more than the urge to kill ? no !!!!

  • @jsilence418 Actually I can't find any evidence of wrong doing by lee, other than being born with the surname, pulleyblank lol !! a great moniker that, pulleyblank!!

  • @okikocay - I watched Leapy perform in Beverly Hills Club Los Cristianos on Tuesday and he was fabulous!!! He still has a good voice and he related his life story in between songs. He goes to perform in Tenerife at that resort every Tuesday fortnightly. Thoroughly enjoyed his performance!!!
