@8:41 that is the forward assist, not a charging handle. It isn't to pull back on, but to push the bolt forward in the event of a jam or malfunction.

@Bornandbledfilms M4 receiver 30mm wide and the front sight looks way to thin, its almost half inch.

the front sight is shaped like this:

(_) similar to an AK sight with a post in the center.

it would look more realistic if you had used a 29mm rod or tube to act as the buffer tube, bolt chamber, and the first few mm's of the barrel.

How did you finish the piece? black spray paint and a coat or two of spray urethane? it seems that some of the pieces , like the large dowel didn't accept the black quite as smoothly, is that the case or does it maybe just appear so in the video?
