  • thats pretty sweet looking, and it atleast shows that they were trying to be innovative instead of the old "gumball machine" rotating beacons on the tops of the old '70s cruisers

  • Ahh the 1st attempt of low profile lights

  • the old Lightbars are the best

  • CHP tested a few of these a long while back, I think. They didn't do too well because of the glare on the front dome during the day, IIRC.

  • Now, this is something I'd like to see Whelen Engineering bring back in improved form! The FasTraxx rear model would have its alley lamps perfectly placed for a 2006-up Dodge Charger semi-slick in addition to acting as a spoiler; team it with an I07UF8 with twin LR11 takedowns, I07LRZ deck flasher/traffic advisor and MBDC06** mirror shells to complete the package.

  • These were really weird. n I first saw them in a Streiker's catalog. It's cool cause it is novel, but not as cool as MX7000s, or StreetHawks.

  • i want one of those!

  • i would like to see it in action

  • Well now if it ain't the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.

  • I have been looking for one of these for a very long time,it seems no one wants to give it up,just got one In verygood condition, taking the FREEDOM DOUBLE LINEARS AND REPLACING THE OLD STROBES,IF ANYONE HAS ONE I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ?

  • Pennsylvania State Police have a few of these

  • @rrobertsnot5150 Really? i have never seen nthem with these lights?

  • @98bennyj I've seen them on the turnpike

  • @rrobertsnot5150 ohh ok i live in central pa (by the west branch susquehanna), so i dont really see them

  • next time have it on dammit!

  • @2scrappy4u i second that. damn i wanna see it on haha

  • @2scrappy4u Those things were awesome, man! There used to be a video floating around of 'em on, but...not anymore...I think.

  • What model is this light bar?

  • This was called the Whelen FastTrax or FastTrak. Can't remember exactly which one, but it was actually a good lightbar.

  • these never made it big for some reason. idk why, really seemed like a great idea. Id like to see whelen rekindle them with leds. well i guess with the formation of the inner edge, it kinda rules that out. But i wish these were still around.

  • It's sort of reminiscent of future cop movies. Kind of looks like an E7, too. Probably wouldn't sell well, since I imagine it wouldn't look that good on a Charger (since P71's are heading for their demise, as far as we can tell).

  • In I, Robot the lightbars weren't on the top edges of the windshield - they wrapped down around the sides of the cars...

  • That wasn't my point...

  • the reason they were rare is because it cost about $5000 for a full set... no lightbar should cost more than $1000

  • Hey that is really cool ^^

I would like to se it in action!

  • LOL There was a Whelen Omni-Directional siren being put up! you can see it in the reflection

  • I have always wanted those, but they stoped selling them after like 2 years. the whole unit front and back is like $5000.00

  • I want to see it ON if only seenone of them in person and that was a mass general hospital

  • I'd love to see a video of the FastTrax in action

  • I really liked those, but they never seemed too popular, presumably because they lack proper 360 lighting. I think RCMP had a few cars with them on.

  • woah I've never seen anything like it in my life...

  • wow thats crazy. u gotta get the vid of it workin
