thats pretty sweet looking, and it atleast shows that they were trying to be innovative instead of the old "gumball machine" rotating beacons on the tops of the old '70s cruisers
Now, this is something I'd like to see Whelen Engineering bring back in improved form! The FasTraxx rear model would have its alley lamps perfectly placed for a 2006-up Dodge Charger semi-slick in addition to acting as a spoiler; team it with an I07UF8 with twin LR11 takedowns, I07LRZ deck flasher/traffic advisor and MBDC06** mirror shells to complete the package.
I have been looking for one of these for a very long time,it seems no one wants to give it up,just got one In verygood condition, taking the FREEDOM DOUBLE LINEARS AND REPLACING THE OLD STROBES,IF ANYONE HAS ONE I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ?
these never made it big for some reason. idk why, really seemed like a great idea. Id like to see whelen rekindle them with leds. well i guess with the formation of the inner edge, it kinda rules that out. But i wish these were still around.
It's sort of reminiscent of future cop movies. Kind of looks like an E7, too. Probably wouldn't sell well, since I imagine it wouldn't look that good on a Charger (since P71's are heading for their demise, as far as we can tell).

CHP tested a few of these a long while back, I think. They didn't do too well because of the glare on the front dome during the day, IIRC.

These were really weird. n I first saw them in a Streiker's catalog. It's cool cause it is novel, but not as cool as MX7000s, or StreetHawks.

This was called the Whelen FastTrax or FastTrak. Can't remember exactly which one, but it was actually a good lightbar.

In I, Robot the lightbars weren't on the top edges of the windshield - they wrapped down around the sides of the cars...
nerdlydood 2 years ago
That wasn't my point...
OfficerNelson 2 years ago
the reason they were rare is because it cost about $5000 for a full set... no lightbar should cost more than $1000

Hey that is really cool ^^
I would like to se it in action!

I have always wanted those, but they stoped selling them after like 2 years. the whole unit front and back is like $5000.00

I really liked those, but they never seemed too popular, presumably because they lack proper 360 lighting. I think RCMP had a few cars with them on.
