This is such weak dialogue for Darth Vader. But there are far worse problems with the holiday special.

And besides that, wasn't Vader THE most popular character from the movie? Why would he get a pathetic 15 seconds in this show?

Of course, the entire holiday special fails to exemplify the holiday spirit.

So I suppose you can think of it as a klutzy mistake in a film that is basically a compilation of klutzy mistakes... I wonder why Lucas won't release a DVD special edition of this...

In Lucas' defense though, he had nothing do with the production. So I kinda feel a little bad for him when it comes to this.

Probbably because James Earl Jones (who played the voice of Darth Vader) had too much self-respect to involve himself any further in this cinimatic abomination (the TV special, not the movie triliogy). ;)

It's my favourite scene in all of the special because it was directed for Star Wars 1977. I just see it as a deleted scene.

That's one of the scenes cut from Episdoe IV, the Holiday Special says it's the interior of an Imperial Class Star Destroyer, in reality it's the Death Star
