Amazing! I vote flute! Even though she messed up in some spots it was amazing! Its a really hard instrument! I play it and I could never ever play a song like that. Bravo!
Vote if you agree! BTW: The high piched spots are just the camera. A flute may go high but it can't go that high in some spots!
I think they both played great. The flautist did go flat, but since she was playing with a 20 year old flute, the age definately affected the sound. Ii also give props to the flautist because she taught herself how to play the flute, while her partner had private lessons. I still think the clarinet player did a better job even though she did have the easier part.
Please let me know what piece this is, I'm really considering playing this with a friend of mine for solo/ensemble this year. Also let me know where I can get a hold of the music please:)
Yeah it takes a real man to play flute, no offence lady's there's a 6' 4" flute player at our school who is BEAST he is graduating this year though, and I only knew him for a year :(
me and my sister have a couple duets to do ourselves, and as the flute player of our duet, i'll end up being more critical towards the flute player.. take no offense though. watch the blending and notes around 0:40 to around 1:00. its very good, but if u aren't sight-reading, it better be better.. if u understand my point of view
i was in a contest like this in a clarinet-clarinet duet and a clarinet-flute duet. try to focus more on tempo and blending. it might be just the quality of the video but the tone sounds a little off. great job though at getting the notes out, i know it's hard when u start to run out of air and your lips give out during the end of the piece.
nice job! what a fun piece. I recently put up a vid of me playing both the clarinet AND flute part to Mozart Flute and Clarinet Duet. I recorded both parts separately on my computer. Maybe you can check it out!

FLute got a little flat there, I play flute as well and my best friend plays clarinet, but other wise it was great.
