This was a nice movie, and it was a nice ending how Oliver finally made it home safely with Mr. Brownlow. However, I guess an even nicer and happier ending is that it showed Fagin finding his long lost wife (even though it never mentioned he was a husband) and all of Fagin's thief kids (including the Artful Dodger) finding their lost parents which helped Fagin and the kids feel that they don't need to steal anymore. All it showed was Fagin and the Artful Dodger dancing and singing at the end.
This movie was very well-casted. The only problem was Mark Lester couldn't sing, but it was common for musicals to have dubbed singing voices. The rest of the cast were amazing though. They were all capable of bringing both the light mood from the stage musical and the darkness from the Oliver Twist Novel. Their singing and dancing were good as well.
No Peggy Mount or Fred Emney ( Workhouse scenes) but one of THE greatest British Actors=LEONARD ROSSITER( Rising Damp/Reggie Perrin etc) not even included! RIDICULOUS!
Ron Moody STILL going strong 40 years later! What A Pro...
Tremendous and amazing that ALL 150 lads in the workhouse were White Londoners.
That was 1967/68 but now 40 years later most White Londoners have lrft for The Suburbs..
Savii i can play Oliver bcoz oiver didnt actually sin g any of the songs a woman did annnd i can hit the notes and im a boy and im oliver my performance infront of the school is 14th july 2008 thn parents in aftenoon 16th july 2008 and hen performance for adults at night 17th july 2008
Thank you very much man, ok if you want to get these Photos, you go to Google, and when you open Google type these characters's names, you will find them all in the images results.
Jack Wild, Oliver Reed and Harry Secombe are all dead. =[ Jack Wild had throat cancer and dided i believe, Harry Secombe died of old age. and Oliver Reed died by committing suicide. Sad indeed=[ Oliver is a great movie... Great clip too:)
He was amazing in all of his movies. Melody and The 14 come to mind. It's only because they didn't receive as much publicity as Oliver! and Pufnstuf that he wasn't as recognized for them.
LMAO, thats what I was thinking lmaooo . I still like Ron Moody and Shani Wallis and Mark Lester. Oliver Reed was good, too though. But Jack is the love.
