The first time I heard Mr. Smith's version of this it brought tears to my eyes. I just had never heard so much expressed through the guitar. His voicings and arrangement are simply incredible. I say this because, frankly, I was prepared to think "he's no Johnny Smith." Well, maybe you're not, but yours is a beautiful version of his arrangement. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for your interest and comments. The guitar is a Gibson Johnny Smith model, and the amp is an EMRAD Johnny Smith model. Apparently, it was J.S.' own amp that he used when he recorded Shenandoah. I only wish that the mic on the camera had been good enough to do it justice. Cheers.
I bought a Gibson JS from the man himself back in the early 80s. He told me that he improvised the version of "Shenandoah" for the "Man With the Blue Guitar" because the producer needed a filler song. He also plays Violin, Trumpet, Coronet and Piano.
He is a true gentleman and generous with his time and has a wonderful sense of humor. He is totally retired now. What a contribution this incredible musician made to guitar!

@Emrad1 ,
Excellent Lin,
