this is confusing because its an excerpt and because this person who thinks its good to spread these videos did not pay attention that sadhguru builds up the conversation to reach this part. if you put the last part of the conversation it will feel odd, i like the videos posted by the isha yoga foundation bcz they make sure they take parts that function as a whole not just bits and peaces, and the rest they putt on dvds bcz u need to watch the whole thing. so plz be wise when you post!!!!!!
As I understand his words, he is defining the word "Compassion" to mean, "Be fully present, curious, and in awe of every thing that contacts your life." Raise everything that is presented to you in this life up to the level of supreme importance in your life, not just certain things. What you experience is the extent of your life, so be in awe of every experience, no matter how minor.
Maybe something is missing in my understanding of what Sadhguru is saying, but I'm not sure I agree with what he is saying in regards to his meaning of compassion and the misinterpretation by what he calls "the religious people" of the world which in itself sounds a little arrogant I dont mean to offend,. Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me?
As I understand, he's saying rather than "acting" compassionate, kind, BE it and radiate it. When we say I have compassion for someone, it has a sense of seeing the other person as having or being less - almost like feeling sorry for them. But instead by being love and radiating that, it's more true and complete. It doesn't carry the sense of "I" and ego "being" compassionate toward someone.
compassion ,forgiveness and understanding arises naturally when you treat your neighbour as you would yourself.
If you cannot forgive your self (mind made sense of self) then you can never be compassionet to others..
and that is not limited just to humans.
In reality, all is one.
First ,you must know you really are, then you will see everyone, everything, as yourself, you cannot help but be compassionet.
